victorels:The masses are screwed both ways!! |
Please what is the price of kerosene without subsidy! I have maintained the position that they should remove the fucking subsidy! The thing is a money generators for the boys. This subsidy thing is not really reaching the masses. They should follow the UAE and remove subsidy on all petroleum products ASAP. |
I am just thinking how Oyibo has got (ensnared) "us" to be doing three marriages per couple while the do only one (most of the time) @Topic I think they should both take a walk from the relationship. |
Are you asking me? Please I have no idea! Better ask OBJ and El-rufai. On a serious note, that allegation was really nasty. I did not expect such from OBJ. I thought some things should be beyond politics for supposedly elder statesmen. |
Is this guy in Nigeria or even on this earth. This issue has been politicized since once upon a time. Oya Oga Ben Bruce start by giving suggestions on how to tackle the monster. We know he is not a magician, but I think the Oga at the top promised to end it in 2 months after taking over, and its "close to 2 weeks" to 2 months. |
My position is simple, if anybody is proven to have taken, stolen or "inadvertently misplaced " our funds they should be made to return same. I heard 20, 10, 5 billion was "stolen", let the present administration find it wherever it is, as much money is needed with the plummeting oil. prices. (NB: Personally, I doubt how such humongous amounts can be stolen) I am tired of hearing of "missing" money, I want to hear of found money. In another direction, I want to know who is approving the funds that are being released since over 1 month, without any FAAC and FEC ? |
These governors asking for bailout It's a pity that governance at the state level has been reduced to this especially with respect to the 2nd term state governors. For the 2nd term governors, I consider this to be proof of lack of capacity in management of financial resources. For the first term governors, I might be more lenient, but this is obviously an indictment on their predecessor's managerial skills. All in all the buck stops at the President's table and he should be careful to treat these requests with caution, so as not be seen to be to be rewarding incompetence. If any bailout must be given at all, the Presidency must exact very strict conditions so that the bailout does not go the way of their statutory allocations. In a democracy with separation of powers supposedly at the 3 tiers, I think it will not be a bad idea to request that the state governors cede the management of their state finances to the federal government in exchange for bailouts. These bailouts should not be free money, but loans on interests below commercial rates (say 7.5 to 10%) and restricted in what they can be used for with a tenure not more than 1 year for repayment after say a 2 month moratorium. It should be like an advance release of allocations. The Federal government collects the total sum with interests in a 12 months monthly deduction from the states' allocation at source. Financial profligacy must not be rewarded. |

dearpreye:I support mass action against the disproportionate allocation of resources to the National Assembly. In fact they NLC and Civil Society groups, should campaign against the constituency projects thing. To me it is a waste of resources, as it is difficult to point to what former NASS members have done with it vis-a-vis the amount allocated. The guys should be concerned with making good laws while the executive concentrates on developmental projects |
mightsparrow:Honestly, I think these guys do not realize the type of exacting technology for energy generation they are talking about and the potential risks involved. I have had the opportunity of a visit to a functioning nuclear reactor and believe me it is not a piece of cake. The engineering and management requirements for successful operation are exacting. Even the water quality requirements around the core and filtration system can not be compromised, and operation is continuos. The only thing I have exposure to that is remotely close to it is running a steel plant, unfortunately we have not been successful in running our steel plants. Secondly, on manpower, I do not think the government has invested in raising the requisite local manpower capable of nationalistic input in the choice, design, recruitment and running of the plant. When I talk of local manpower, I do not mean B Sc. and M.Sc holders that have not even seen a nuclear reactor, I mean guys who have seen, have touched, have done and can do.To the best of my knowledge, no Nigerian university has a functioning laboratory scale experimental reactor. The only one I heard of was the one Obasanjo regime released funds for at ABU around 1977. I guess the thing was not realized. Perhaps the funds entered voicemail. Thirdly, is nuclear waste management. Nuclear waste is radioactive and hence toxic. You can not just dump it in the river, sea, or ground just like that. The waste can remain radioactive for 1000 years !!! Costly procedures are being used and tested. In the light of these, I do not support the government dabbling into nuclear power. At the moment we do not have in place what it takes and there are far cheaper and safer options that can come on stream much faster. Take for instance solar energy. This should have been the first option at diversifying our energy sources as the country is basking in solar energy with year round sunlight of high quality. However, if the government is insistent on following the nuclear energy route, my advice is that to do it well should involve at least a 10 year plan (I do not see this meeting immediate energy needs) First 5 years (1st Phase): Immediate audit of local available technological manpower for nuclear plants available vis-a-vis the need. Set up training programmes internationally to meet the shortfall with emphasis on mastery and hands on experience. Upgrade available local manpower on hands on management of nuclear reactor (degrees are just not enough). While this is going on at least 2 universities should be tasked with acquisition and successful running of experimental nuclear reactors and nuclear sources for materials analysis and nuclear medicine applications (radio isotopes) 2nd 5 years (2nd Phase): With local manpower requirement and knowledge gap sorted out in phase 1, involve locals vigorously in the bidding, design, installation and test-running of the reactors to meet local considerations and peculiar needs. No copy and paste design without adequate modifications to meet local realities like MMIA At the end of this phase functional reactos should already be running. No short cuts. Any knee jerk approach is most likely to go the way of our steel plants. In fact with the way they are going, when they say nuclear plants, I read nuclear bombs !! I surely do not want a Chernobyl in my backyard, and I guess no sane person does. |
seunmsg:Where this guys naked prior to their election ? Does it have to cost so much dress up vis-a-vis our declining income poverty and infrastructural deficits at the moment ? Is this not legalized pillage via RMAFC? Where are the lawyers and the civil society groups and NLC ? What metrics was used for such stupendous award ? Can't this RMAFC be held liable for this pillage of our commonwealth ? On what basis do they award so much to political office holders and so little to the workers ? Does this not need to be tested in both courts (Public opinion and law courts) ? Can somebody calculate how many minimum wage salary can be paid by one legislator's wardrobe allowance ? My calculation is that each of our legislators will be dressing up with salary of close to 1000 minimum wage workers! Multiply this by 469 and you have over 460,000 minimum wage salaries. The cost of their wardrobe allowance alone can collectively provide employment for close to 40,000 Nigerian youths at minimum wage rate for a year thus reducing youth unemployment !!! Our ruling class are "eating" our future in broad daylight. Is this not the reason their are no jobs, because elected officials "dress and eat" the jobs for the youths? Personally, I think only sustained mass action can stop this, the presidency can not. Where is the change? What is different? |
amustsuccess:Yes, you can. I will advise you use the same CHN number as in your old account for your new account too. |
The lady should wait. I do not think the man has left. Maybe he is a learner. Maybe he left to go and even the score and match your skill/experience level. |
Rich4god:Thank you Sir! That makes it 2 people seeing the same perspective. I was also looking for the donkey !! I have been laughing ![]() The young shall grow. |
Keep it up. You've got some talent. Stay focused and let it grow. |
This is obviously a SCAM mail! If you venture to follow the provided link to make any "update or registration" online you have given some crooks access to your account and soon you stand to start receiving debit alert on your account as the feast on your savings. Just walk over to your Bank and have a face to face chat or call your bank's customer service line. Never ever do an update of your financial instruments online, NO FINANCIAL INSTITUTION will ask a customer to do that. I receive severally such mails from financial institutions I have no dealing with. Be advised!! Be warned !!! |
shadowgwalker:I was able to read the text on my "straight" device. May be your curve phone is curving everything. ![]() I advise you get a straight device and keep away from curved devices from henceforth yo avoid curve presentation of webpages on your screen. ![]() |
guardian09:I understand your position. But I think the distance of operation can be scaled up. Is there not something like that to gradually increase the coverage? If not I think it is a silly idea! |
This article/analysis made interesting reading. http://www.proshareng.com/news/27053.html How to buy a Nigerian bank without money |
@OP Are you a learner? I bet you that if the babe is truly pregnant, you are most probably not the father!!! Shine your eyes Something strong is cooking, I sense a wicked cover-up. |
spyder880:@ spyder880, I really like the quality of the wardrobe and kitchen cabinets. Please can you link me up with the guy doing this nice work for you. I will need a few. I have a question, why did they use wood instead of tiles or stone for the top section around/adjacent the kitchen sinks. Water damage is a big possibility with the present configuration. Regards. |
emisquare99:Na so e dey start! You have not married her, and you are already verbally abusing her and even her family. Next, I bet you start hitting her and perhaps her family members too. I am sorry I have no pity for you. I think you do not deserve her or even any girl. Now you admit where your problem lies, go and work on yourself to be a better person. After this you can think of a relationship. |
austinibe7777:This is the question you should have asked before you entered. Check the link below to access the dividend history of the stock as at 2012. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/08/41-companies-didnt-pay-dividends-in-5-years-nse/ I am aware they made a 1 for 5 bonus issue in 2008/ |
Please I want to know if anybody is yet to get alert for Zenith Dividend. |
duni04:They said it that their production was hedged at 100 USD or thereabouts until 2016. the new just confirms it. It is a smart move in my opinion by cashing out now. |
barcanista:He did not dip his hand into the treasury, but he watched others do it incurring losses for the government, and nothing was done to recover the losses because "he did not benefit from it"! Tell me how that was better than Shehu Shagari he overthrew. Till date nobody said Shagari stole anything, only that his aides (people around him) stole on his watch! I think Shehu Shagari deserves an apology. What a country!! |
@OP I am with your brother on this! In fact he has earned my respect!! He is the one marrying and yours is to support him. I am glad he is not being unreasonable or hasty. Let him let them know, that if the are unreasonable he is capable of letting their daughter stay with them. He should call there bluff and tell them the thing will need to be postponed for him to raise the finances to meet his in-laws latest demands. Try not to be in a hurry, whoever seems to be in a hurry loses is out. This is just not about money and demands, a faulty foundation and precedent is about to be laid. If you do not handle it now, I bet you, you will be the go to guy (ATM machine) of this. If you allow yourself to present a picture of yourself that is not correct, you can not correct it easily later. The lady's family will push her, she will push the husband, and your brother will run to you. In a nutshell do not spend more than you have intended to spend. This is the reason why people are put under unnecessary pressure and can even put hands in wrong things in order to live up to others' expectations. |
@OP where did you get the initial figures you posted. Honestly, I was shocked on reading the figures in billions you posted earlier. I made a web search and found that the information you posted was incorrect. Checked back and noticed you have effected a correction. |
This is really bad. However some tips can be helpful to both banks and customers. 1)The banks should encourage customers to input daily and or weekly withdrawal limits to their accounts over the ATMs, if the clients need more funds they can approach the counter. (these limits should preferably be changeable by a visit to the bank office that leaves a paper trail to avoid under duress things) 2) Customers should try to deal face to face on electronic banking information sharing with bank officials 3) Banks should decline payment to cards in locations associated with this fraud unless the account holder has given prior notice of travel to such locations. 4) Even in the country, banks can allow profiling of states or cities where a particular customer can withdraw. 5) Customers should endeavour to have an account (accounts) that are not directly linked to any card (you keep most of your bulk funds or savings here), and transfer via token/internet banking to your card linked accounts. While the banks are doing their part customers should take some initiative. 6) Customers should have their banks customer care lines (for card services) at their finger tips to act swiftly in cases like this as time is of essence. 7) The banks and customers should endeavour to be proactive to reduce these cases and the amounts involved per case. Though there is rarely a 100% fail proof system but intelligent multi level controls and monitoring can greatly increase efficiencies. Lastly, I think some bad eggs in the bank might be linked to some cases of card fraud. How can one explain the follow-up phone call to the lady in the article that led to her giving out her passwords that were not functional hitherto. |
