Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II has stated that the argument about devaluation of naira is misunderstood, and that the naira has already been devalued.

“This argument (on devaluation) I think has first of all been framed wrong, it’s not an argument about do we devalue or do we not devalue. The naira has already been devalued,” he said.

“What is the value of the naira? It’s what you can get for it, what you can get for the dollar in a free market between a willing buyer and a willing seller – and it is not 197.

“All that is happening is that the government has chosen to sell its own dollars at a subsidised rate to the private sector. That’s what is happening. So, if you’re lucky, you’d get something worth N300 for N200 and you save N100,” Sanusi added.

“For every $1 billion that the central bank sells, it has transloaded N100 billion to the private sector – that’s what is happening.

“So you got a huge arbitrage opportunity, which either way undermines the government’s anti-corruption stance.

“You also take so much money away from states and local governments, because this is money that from oil proceeds, from PPT, royalties, that should go to education and healthcare for the poor.

“While the president is looking at the pain inflicted on the poor, by high prices of import, he also needs to look at the pain inflicted on them by taking away revenue that could go into education and healthcare.”

While commending the President for transparency, removal of subsidy and other structural reforms, Sanusi said the federal government needs clarity of thinking in the handling of the foreign exchange policy.

“There has to be clarity of thinking. The government on the one hand says it wants to encourage domestic production, the governor of the central bank says he wants to reduce import dependence, but one would think that the way to reduce import dependence is not to make imports cheaper.

“You subsidize exchange rate – you’re making imports cheap. So you’re actually pursuing a monetary policy that undermines structural objectives,” he said.

If you read well you will pass, you don't need brown envelopes. I'm from a poor home, my parents never paid anyone and I graduated from a Federal Uni @ 24 from a 5yr discipline. I had so many younger pple in my class from poor to average homes too.

All the young chaps I see everywhere, relations, church members none has stayed that long, only in exceptional spiritual cases, then after deliverance God still makes a way for them even in employment.

So don't make it seem like it's normal to graduate late.
The companies weren't established for a "father Christmas" show, they have to employ top notch for better productivity so they go for the best.

Singer KCee’s younger brother and CEO Five Star Music, Emeka Okonkwo popularly known as ‘E-Money’ celebrated his birthday today by giving out N300, 000 and a brand new Toyota Corolla car to a ‘shoe – rack’ hawker in Lagos.

According to , E-Money earlier today, remembered a ‘shoe – rack’ hawker from Ebonyi state named Promise who KCee had promised to help some time ago.

E-money and the Five Star music crew went in search of Promise who hawks at ‘Ikeja Along’, Lagos. But on getting there, Promise had already been taken into custody by officials of KAI (Kick Against Indiscipline) and transported to their office in Alausa, Ikeja.

The crew went to the KAI office and after several hours of pleading, Promise was made to sign an undertaking never to hawk around the area again and then handed over to them

E-Money reportedly gave Promise a brand new Toyota Corolla car and a sum of #300,000 to get a new apartment. E-Money also gave cash to other hawkers around.

Commenting on the generous act by E-Money, KCee said: “If you follow the Five Star music family you’ll know this is what we do, it’s my brother’s birthday and he decided to give back to the street and we are grateful to God for his mercies and grace upon us.”
