2003 Lexus RX300 first grade will sell between 1,800,000-2,000,000 and I advise you go for the AWD models.

It was 20% import duty and 5% VAT or 35% duty and 5% VAT but now it is 35% duty and 35% compulsory levy

Please I have two units of 2001 Toyota Avalon I bought from your company in November 2013. I don't think your clearing agent here in Nigeria is doing his job so well in terms of clearing the consolidated vehicles at a good price. He told me Customs charged 35% duty instead of 20% for a 2001 Toyota Avalon with a 3000cc engine. He charged me 360,000 Naira for clearing. He was supposed to negotiate this down as many other agents do yet he didn't and expects me to pay such an exorbitant amount. The customs duty rate with CET code 8703.2329.26 for other used passenger vehicles >1500cc<=3000cc is 20% import duty and 5% VAT

I have gone to one of the Zonal customs office here to find out more and they said that, that particular passenger vehicle ought to be charged 20% import duty and 5% VAT as against 35% import duty and 5% VAT that he claimed was charged. I have contacted some other clearing agents who told me that the vehicle will be charged 20% import duty and if i offer them between 220,000 to 250,000 Naira with container deposit which is refundable,they will clear my vehicle in 5 days.I am going to Lagos tomorrow to find out why customs will charge him particularly that amount. If it eventually turns out he is trying to fleece me of some hard earned money, I will make sure I cry out a loud foul to Nairalanders about the fraud.

I regularly import cars from American auctions.I ll use your service on my subsequent shipments but on this case they said it is only their agent can handle clearing and unloading of consolidated containers.I only own two vehicles out of four in the 40" container. All I need is your correct information assistance now, Is 2001 Toyota Avalon charged 20% or 35% by Nigerian Customs? I cleared same vehicle through the same agent September last year @255k now it is a whooping 360k claiming customs charged 35% for it though the New tariff has not been implemented. The vehicle landed through grande Gabon on 4th January. Please I await your response as I am really confused

Fellow Nairalanders please I need your help on this. I have two units of 2001 Toyota Avalon that came to Lagos on Grande Gabon Grimaldi lines on 4th January and the vehicles were consolidated in a 40" container with two other vehicles and the shipper from US insists that only their clearing agent can handle consolidation. Now their agent charged me N360,000 each for the vehicles making a sum of N720,000 which I believe is outrageous. He claimed customs gave it 35% instead of 20% on CC. I cleared the 2002 of Toyota Avalon containerized in September 2013 at N255,000. Please does anyone in the house know what I can do to avoid this extortion.
