21 December, 2012 was marked by the Mayans as the end of an era, we're about to see some big changes and it has started. |
Thanks. Do you know the Aro name for the Cross River? |
When the British seized the land. People tend to forget that it was NOT legal for the UK to take over the area now known as Nigeria and it was NOT an era without corruption. Nigeria was birthed out of the biggest crime in Africa's recent history. The most corrupt people in Nigeria were/are the British and other Europeans. It was the British that also tampered with Nigerias politics, of course they would, it was them who created it. |
Turbocharged: For the ones in bold.Tradition, not technology. Know the difference. |
Fresh air and quiet. Free space. Nature. |
Aigbofa: Eeya! All these because of an obscure newspaper review of a book? There are Nobel price winners walking around on this planet and the heavens has not fallen yet. You ibos have a big problem, seriously.Yet you're still here pushing buttons. |
dayokanu: How far ezeagu, You don contact Granny for Enugu? Abeg send her money quick for that anti-rapppe levy cos your brothers eye dey chook and conji dey hold them badly for yonderhttps://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mdrm9rUQW01rdu2cqo1_500.jpg What is all this text I didn't read? |
Aigbofa: I usually don't engage re.tards. dayokanu: A foreigner rapping women compared to Chukwudi lusting after him Papa mama. I mean his grandmother na him dey sweet Chukwudi and Ikenna to nyansh. dayokanu: They have a problem with everyone. Yesterday its Efik, Today its ikwerre, tomorrow ijaw, next Tiv, Next hausa next yoruba babapupa: Same way the jungle beasts kidnapped their own school kids for money. SmhYou guys are doing a great job convincing us that you're completely unbothered by Chinua Achebe's IOS nomination. https://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mbf495Qd2d1rfduvxo1_250.gif |
dayokanu: Criticism over the years? Thats a very daft statement even if we are looking at it from the Daftometer prismhttps://m2.paperblog.com/i/37/375688/il-dr-house-si-e-dato-alla-musica-blues-L-up3WMk.jpeg But he's in Time 100 though? |
dayokanu: Nnwanne You see why he was able to win the Nobel prize and inferior beings are struggling with Gordon bell prize, Yakubu Aiyegbeni prize, Snoop Dogg prize, Justin Beiber prize and Joseph Goebells prize. But where's the 11 million? |
babapupa: Tell me what that bitter and senile old man believed in and exactly what he died for.Tell me what you had for dinner. |
T9ksy: Herd-like as in, even achebe got 419ed by ojukwu and became biafra's roving ambassador churning out lies and more lies which at the time ishttps://i2.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/list/000/231/495/b2a.gif |
Prof Corruption: Empty chest beating about nothing. Yoruba would die because Independent on Sunday opined Achebe's good to read?https://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m9589ejDyR1qczxiy.gif |
Prof Corruption: Lol. You don't get it. Don't confuse characters in a particular book with reality.Have you found Mark Twain's Nobel prize yet? |
The most read African novel in history is about an ordinary Okoro in a village set in pre-colonial Anambra State. https://i2.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/masonry/000/343/893/989.gif |
That's nice. So when did Mark Twain get a Nobel Prize? Since when is literature (an arts) comparable to a sport? Anyway, all I know is "first class, or no first class", the people have spoken "11 million copies sold worldwide", "most read African novel in history". |
Herd-like people [who produce best-selling authors, one of which wrote the best selling African novel in history, and whose recent book is on the world stage]. |
Chinua Achebe is a living national treasure (for Africa, for Nigeria, and for the Igbo people). |
hypeman: They got their ar.se kicked, however, they died for what they believed in and never compromised... That's why I'll always put Christopher Okigbo on my list of the most-inspirational/greatest black people ever...That's nice. |
hypeman: My comment was directed to Ikengawo who was parroting the Igbocentric Achebe as an African/Nigerian treasure with the audacity to post a picture of two of the most overrated Africans to buttress his asinine point... That's the shiit that I don't like!Sorry, maybe I missed the African author that sold over 12 million of his novels about traditional life and had it published it during the independence movement in the 1960s. |
babapupa: The bitter man is still fighting the doomed and failed war as the biafra propaganda minister. And Malik Shabazz, Martin Luther King Jr., Mahatma Ghandi, Nat Turner, Nanny of the Maroons, etc all got their "azzz kicked", yet your friends are quoting them as "real heroes", for what? Dying for what they believe in. https://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m67hmuRoOs1qk659fo1_250.gif Under-believable! |
Prof Corruption: Some of our brothers from Eastern side of the Niger truly like be hailed for nothing, empty chest beating that amounts to nothing.Oh, really? https://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m1z26fIt8q1qdrqqho1_250.gif Prof Corruption: Achebe goofed big time. He killed his literary career by publishing tissue of lies as personal history. I laughed really hard when the book was listed as non-fiction as if Achebe had ever written a fiction in his life. He should stop spending money to promote a bad book. Let him win the real thing: Nobel Prize and play in the first class league peopled by the likes of Wole Soyinka, Naguib Mahfouz,Nadine Gordimer etc.Nice "first class league". So what is the most read https://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m3j8f63hRZ1r164byo1_250.gif |
hypeman: I don't have a problem with Achebe and the popularity of his books, or lack thereof... However, making an overzealous claim that's borderline ridiculous about being an African icon is problematic... For how long are we going to let other people dictate our heroes to us?? Achebe might be an Igbo hero(due to his tribal chauvinism), but he's definitely not an African icon...And how did his status as a icon or no icon stop his novel from being the most widely read of a contemporary African author? |
Tolexander: title by a village committee in sweden? And how does a Noble prize increase or decrease the impact of an author? |
And how did your post above make Things Fall Apart any less popular? https://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/71KDDRC14DL._SL500_.gifhttps://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51ASFP5SVYL._SL500_.jpg |
Tolexander: i said nobel prize in literature, u are telling me number of copies sold. What should an African writer care more about, spreading his message and his history and his culture around the world for millions to see absorb and be influenced by, or being dashed a title by a village committee in Sweden? https://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mduhxjucDL1rxr06g.gif |
