God punishes the wicked yet 500 people can be allowed to be wiped out in one day. Tsunami's, Tornadoes. Burning down of places of worship, while people are still inside. Child murders and so on. God has no hand in peoples everyday life. No wonder people went to minor deities for their problems. |
Many town-like places are called village by Igbo people because in the last 100 years most Igbo towns were created out of villages, or expanded into villages. The village members still retain their identity as a village so this is why they would still call it village or homestead. It's not uncommon to see a sign like "welcome to ---- village" in the middle of a bustling town in Igboland. |
mens dept: Those pictures are nothing more than shameful. Since 2001 that OBJ began his "Approval" of the International Airport in Enugu, along with Kema CHikwe (who tried to smuggle herself into the senate last year and lost) who was the then Aviation Minister, to the current GEJ and his Igbotic Aviation Minister, the airport is just a joke.Czech Republic split 20 years ago from an oversize oppressive failed state with rivalling ethnic groups. Figures. |
God doesn't run anyone's life. That doesn't make sense in any religion or irreligion. |
There's an Igbo dictionary online that has over 5000 words: http://mkpuruokwu.org It also has translations for different dialects. Just in case anybody needs it. Animals: http://www.igbo911.com/lexi/xanimal.php |
achi4u: please what is the Igbo name for dove?http://mkpuruokwu.org dove is ńdò ùgó is eagle. |
ezotik: ikaSo Agbor people are no longer know as Owi Igbo? Do Bini people even know what Ika is? |
agbotaen: 1. agbor and owa and others are part of ika ethnic group, and your beloved igbo ethnicity was created by the europeans ,so if igbo is an ethnic group then ika is also an ethnic group and numbers do not make an ethnic group and there is nothing igbos will say that will make majority of ika people to follow them, so get that rightt.Answer this simple question: what name do Bini people call people from Agbor? |
What's wrong with being a prostitute? I can guarantee there's a promiscuous Igbo or other African deity, like Owu mmiri, that was prostitute-like. As for this attack on indigenous beliefs, well I'm not really here to sing Kumbaya, but I actually find it offensive. |

Lame and stressed all at the same time, how unfortunate. |
This is why Igbo is the most popular word on Nigerian Google. |
Also known as home, okwiya? |
Mch, if they catch you holding one of those "free roaming" animals, eh! |
Nevermind. |

geeez: If they actualize Biafra, the first thing their people returning home will experience will be the worst of crimes against them from armed robberies to kidnappings, then rape and murder. The meager infrastructure will be over stretched thereby leading to the collapse of investments and chaos. It will be a disasterAnd you put that all in bold because you are STRESSED! Why can't people worry about their own Banana Republics? |
The old-Port Harcourt terminal was cramped and hot. You couldn't tell if you were at an airport or a sheltered market, especially when you are arriving. There's a lot of hassle at the airport right now, but most people are for the expansion since the old building was much less than good enough. Some people wouldn't even mind that zinc roof in the picture, even though the whole building seems like it's still a skeleton. If they are going to do to these cities what they did to Lagos domestic, then people will be more than happy. |
dayokanu: ^^ The Nazi spirit was broken through crushing defeat trial and death of the key Nazist.Well it wasn't because unfortunately for your deluded selves who didn't even fight the war the battles were in the hands of Westerners and communists. At least Biafra had a spirit instead of aimless partying and then mouthing off decades later. |
pazienza: Well, most igbos are biafrans in nigeria clothing, at least all my immediate and extended family members are. Most naive Nigerians are blaming Achebe for opening up what they call an old wound, but was the wound ever closed? I guess nigerians took the igbo silence to mean that we have gotten over biafra, how convinient. Biafra will always live in the heart of noble igbo men and women,we will always be biafrans in heart, you don't force people to be in the same nation with you.If the Igbo had gotten over the war then there would have been Igbo supporters of MEND and Middle belters, but we all know what happened in history. It's ironic that the people who actually fought the war (instead of people partying all through it) are the ones that are actually suffering for it now and publicly apologising. |
By the way the Port Harcourt International airport is also undergoing an expansion (building), that one I can officially confirm. September (not my picture) http://twitpic.com/aue39m |
The thing is obviously not nearly finished and there's no excuse for that. But neither is there excuse for whining about the lack of an airport all together. |
Offical Design (Compare it with the actual construction and you will see it's the same thing) https://webstore.cde.co.za/Products/90//GI_518855-737.jpg |

oyb: achebe, the 1000 year nnabros reich is dead. deal with it.Gowon was following orders from Harold Wilson. It seems like it is most of you that are delusional to think that people don't already know about the starvation of women and children during the war. It's funny how these aboonga-boonga e-rioters were bragging about defeating Biafra with starvation and massacre only months ago, now their nyassh is in a knot because Chinua Achebe said the same thing? Regardless of a trial, there will forever be Biafran sentiment and Nigeria will never be one. You failed to break a nations spirit, get over it. |
So this person is complaining about construction that's actually happening, or what? Has it stopped? What is the actual problem. All I see is slow construction which is common in Nigeria (and which should have been the main issue) and disorganisation in terms of dealing with traffic that's still coming in and out, but if that means getting this at the end of it: http://webstore.cde.co.za/Products/90//GI_518855-736.jpg Then what is the complaining? They don't construct things in Abuja? I guess it's the same reasoning that's making people post pictures of an already demolished building from years ago. |
Is he saying that if the oil wealth was in Katsina he would still be a Nigerian? You guys need a hug......obviously I mean from yourselves. |
I don't need evidence. It's called world history. By desperately linking yourself to Israel, what you are really saying is that you do not believe your ancestors accomplished enough and that you wish you had the accomplishments of those your are throwing yourself and your history on. Nobody in Europe cares about Israel, it's always poor Africans with colonial mindsets that are always trying to place themselves in biblical history because they are not confident in themselves. |
