Which people do you have in mind?
You should have asked them to produce images of their women from their part of Nigeria so we can see if they also worship white people now.

That's not a fair depiction of all pre-European beauties, these women from Awka in the 1890s are pretty:

I think economic sabotage is the main reason. The factory belongs to the federal government though, so ndi ugwu must have contributed in running it down so that we can buy low quality Dangote cement. Most brick houses in Enugu were built with bricks from that factory. If Enugu houses were built with bricks we wouldn't have the problem of having to repaint buildings intermittently because of dust. It also seems to me that brick houses last longer. My college alma mater classrooms where built with bricks and till date, they are looking and standing strong as new.
Yes, that ugly low quality cement. I've been trying to find the exact problem with architecture in Nigeria and it must be the overuse of cement.

There's needs to be better materials used for building like cladding and other materials that do not require painting. Painting isn't really good for the region because of harmattan, even then I don't know if many buildings are painted at all in more developed countries with clearer climates anymore, only old buildings and very regularly. It doesn't have to be expensive either, a simple wood panelling with varnish would last longer than paint in a harmattan zone.

No! No!! No!!!

Ezeagu, I respect you so much.
Now, what you're calling for can't happen. And I pray it never happens.

The inclusion of these minorities in Biafra, makes this whole thing look like a joke.

The only ethnic group I'd have loved us to co-habit with is Ibibio/Efik.

Because of the similarities in culture, and also the strong friendship between them and the Igbos that has lasted over a century.

But it's obvious every group wants to be independent, so let's leave it that way.

Every group should fight for its cause and live alone afterwards, especially the treacherous Ijo drunks.

We keep forgetting our history and where we're coming from. It pains me so much.

#ElectionsAreOver
I understand that, but in order for the world to recognise the division in Nigeria it would be very hard to fight for 7+ states, when there could be one and then terms sorted out afterwards. My idea is even a confederation fo countries since these lands can all benefit from each other.

What's sensible about his comment?

Our problem is that we're easily deluded.

If Ojukwu was alive, he'd never support us to co-habit with these treacherous Ijos and other minorities.

Obviously, these people don't even want us and yet we keep mentioning them.

Jeez!, I hate this.

Pentag0nal.
Isn't it better to fight for sovereignty together and then hash out the details later? Besides each of these groups can benefit from each other and their cultures are already very similar apart from the sentiments created in Nigeria, for example an Igbo country would be landlocked, and that would be a problem honestly.

I am struggling to know what is wrong with those buildings and what da f@*k do u mean by Igbotic? Must we copy alien patterns in all things? Cant people from other climes copy our building model and build them in their localities, too?
If you had advocated that all those silly looking electric and telephone cables be taken off our roof spaces and buried underground, then you will have a fan here but u lost it. The buildings you so much deride are testimonies of a people's resilient and all conquering spirit from the ashes of genocide and incalculable loss barely 4 decades ago.
Gladly, other well meaning brethren have put you through.
Chegharia!!
Nigerians are too much against themselves. I'm even in support of more "Igbotic" elements being brought back. Everything Nigerians have thrown away is now reigning in the west. For example, instead of expensive rusting corrugated iron and cement, I'd like to see rural areas go back to thatch and rammed earth like in the UK example below:

rdokoye:
As an Igbo man born and raised in London, England, I don’t see anything wrong with those buildings, in fact, they look almost identical to many of the housing estates here, with probably a little more flair, because the homes can be a little stale in London.
The only major difference I see is the streets, the roads don’t have any markings, nor are there any pavements. Road signs seem to be used sparingly also, but these are easy things to fix, which I’m sure doesn’t cost too much money.
The states governments in Nigeria appear to be too fixated on building as much road as possible that they cut corners on the things, they deem are not priorities. In England, we have the complete opposite mindset, in that governments would rather spend as much money as possible building 1 mile of road, rather than spending the least amount of money so that they can build 10 miles of road.
Yeah, I like the buildings, maybe they could be taller and just have a rooftop instead of a pitched roof. The main problem in the streets is civil engineering and lack of detail. This is why I dislike placing Dubai or anywhere in the Gulf as examples for development because the detail on their streets are terrible due to their low-paid imported work force. Cities like on the following list should be considered as case studies: http://www.businessinsider.com/10-cities-with-the-best-infrastructures-2012-12?op=1&IR=T

I define it as the regular 4 storey building frequently seen in most Igbo towns and cities or sometimes equally built by Igbos in Lagos, Kano and other major cities. I will give samples from some Igbo towns.
They're not too bad, but of course they can be greatly improved.
