For those who are interested in teaching, research and affecting social change in profound ways, pursuing a PhD in Social Work (sometimes called Social Welfare) might be the route you take. Finding the right program involves, first and foremost, knowing what you are looking for and finding the right fit based on faculty expertise within each department.
