Bobajo:Things Fall Apart is a 1958 English language novel by Nigerian author Chinua Achebe. It is a staple book in schools throughout Africa and widely read and studied in English-speaking countries around the world. It is seen as the archetypal modern African novel in English, and one of the first African novels written in English to receive global critical acclaim. Time Magazine included the novel in its TIME 100 Best English-language Novels from 1923 to 2005. It is studied widely in Europe and North America, where it has spawned numerous tertiary analytical works. It has achieved similar repute in India and Australia. Considered Achebe's magnum opus, it has sold more than 8 million copies worldwide. |
Andre Uweh:He can be quite a nuisance. Seems like he has been following me, which I find very unusual. Men should not follow other men, like men follow women. |
I am starting to believe Bende hegemony in Abia State politics is real. |
Pornodude: |
There is real anguish in those eyes. Even I am moved by these pictures. It is horrible what is happening in Jos. |
fstranger1:Stupid, because I thought he was a Yoruba since he bore a Yoruba name? All I know that Aganga is not Igbo, Idoma, Tiv Ibibio or an Ijaw name. And that is all that matters. Enough said. . . |
Interesting article worthy of being discussed. Oyibos haven't left Nigeria. We are still pawns in their games. |
This is the first time I am reading this. Very interesting read. |
Kobojunkie:Remember we are talking about Nigeria. We do not think like everyone else, because we have our own way of thinking. |
Putting sectarian beliefs aside, I think people should be worried about these turn of events that are occurring in this nation. |
eku_bear: I didn't know. I seen Olusegun and I thought he was Yoruba. Well I guess we all make mistakes concerning the identity of a person. |
calaway:This conflict is becoming too much for the heart to bare. |
It should be Igbo, not Ibo. And I take it as an insult from those who are West African and refuse to make the "gb" sound, which is common in all of our languages. |
^^^ Do you follow my post? ![]() You are like a dog to its master. Always following me. I tire 4 u. I think you have a problem. And I don't run away from fights. If you want to fight me, meet me in Northwest DC. A real man recognizes when he is wrong and willing to admit he made a mistake. I guess you do not know what a real man is, because you aren't one. |
Pro-Abacha? Who would have thought? Anyone who supports that rogue's son needs to have their head examined. This is unbelievable! |
https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-487036.0.html Moderators - Can you delete this thread? It was in poor taste that I created this thread. Thank you very much. |
Why did you feel slighted? ![]() Simply stated that I said "thrashing" instead of "trashing." You get upset with the slightest correction? ![]() Inferiority complex? |
Kobojunkie:And how do you expect us to do that, when there are rogues everywhere? |
I am done with this thread. Now let it die an inglorious death. ![]() |
bashr4:Do you actually believe that I actually believe what I type? ![]() I am here for shock value. Most of the time I do not subscribe to any of these beliefs. And yes, this thread was in bad taste. But the fact remains, I don't care. Only a fool would actually think that I believe in such nonsense. |
fstranger1:I am not in the mood for semantics tonight. You and I both know my capabilities of handling the English language among other things. And the fact that I speak/write English so well as well speak and write 3 other languages fluently is a testament to my intelligence. I am not some "bush" boy you are dealing with. |
fstranger1:From what I can see, Soludo can hold his own. And the way Aganga is acting, he is not doing Oxford any justice. Mehn, some Nigerians and this belief that these name recognition. I have come across people and debated people who have went to these elite schools and I can say for the most part, I am not impressed. And I said thrashing, not trashing. Come on and keep up with me. |
fstranger1:Remove the tribalism from your eyes. We all know why you have a problem with Soludo. It is, because he gave a thrashing to your kinsman. Tribalism is eating you. |
Chyz*:Gbam! Ngwa candidates have to earn that position. It will not be given to them freely. |
fstranger1:At least you recognized our authority. Admitting this, is the first step towards recovery. ![]() |
jason123: fstranger1:Villain Enough said. . . |
Now look who is chest beating like a gorilla. ![]() Yes, we all know the creator is Yoruba. But last time I checked, this site says Nairaland, not Yorubaland. ![]() I will give you this small victory. You all need it. Remember anything a Yoruba can do, an Igbo can do better. |
How did a thread about an Igbo scammer, turn into a thread about Yoruba authors? These Yoruba ppl. Sheesh It always has to be about them. |
udezue:We all know Abia is one of the most clannish states in Igboland. Clan identity is strong in Abia. I think it is stronger in this state than any other state in Igboland. All the clans you have mentioned are known far and wide throughout Igboland. |
Abagworo:Enugu is such a beautiful city. Truly the capital of Igboland. I would love to have a home in Enugu one day. |
Ndi Ara! Ndi Ara! Ndi Ara! Now that Kalu is backing the Ngwa to produce Abia Gov. They can kiss that governorship goodbye. |
Freewilly:I will be back in Naija soon enough. Just give me two more years. I do not plan on living in the U.S. Most of my siblings have returned to Naija and my parents currently reside in Naija. I miss home. |
