Things Fall Apart is a 1958 English language novel by Nigerian author Chinua Achebe. It is a staple book in schools throughout Africa and widely read and studied in English-speaking countries around the world. It is seen as the archetypal modern African novel in English, and one of the first African novels written in English to receive global critical acclaim.

Time Magazine included the novel in its TIME 100 Best English-language Novels from 1923 to 2005.

It is studied widely in Europe and North America, where it has spawned numerous tertiary analytical works. It has achieved similar repute in India and Australia.

Considered Achebe's magnum opus, it has sold more than 8 million copies worldwide.

Excuse me bro, when we talk Nigerian politics, we keep sentiments and The-proper-way-it-should-be aside, ok?
FYI, i reside in Aba, and i can say i know and have seen it all. Ngwa pple do not even hold any, and i repeat, any leadership position in Aba, because of the obvious, so therefore, we Abians do not even reckon with them when it comes to leadership in the state.

i know this is not rightfully speaking and my words would be faulted in a civilized country, but this is Nigeria and that is the way the cookie crumbles.

Stupid, because I thought he was a Yoruba since he bore a Yoruba name?

All I know that Aganga is not Igbo, Idoma, Tiv Ibibio or an Ijaw name. And that is all that matters. Enough said. . .

I didn't know. I seen Olusegun and I thought he was Yoruba. Well I guess we all make mistakes concerning the identity of a person.

It should be Igbo, not Ibo.

And I take it as an insult from those who are West African and refuse to make the "gb" sound, which is common in all of our languages.

I am here for shock value. Most of the time I do not subscribe to any of these beliefs.

And yes, this thread was in bad taste. But the fact remains, I don't care. Only a fool would actually think that I believe in such nonsense.

Sorry, i thought you meant "trashing."

Anyway, We use has or have with a past participle, not a past tense, to describe an action that started in the past and is (or may be) still going on.

The non-continuous present perfect tense uses has or have + the past participle; the present perfect  continuous tense uses has or have + been (the past participle of BE) + the - ing form of the main verb.
I am not in the mood for semantics tonight. You and I both know my capabilities of handling the English language among other things.

And the fact that I speak/write English so well as well speak and write 3 other languages fluently is a testament to my intelligence.

I am not some "bush" boy you are dealing with.

Do you really want to compare an Oxford grad with a lowly Uniben grad? Really?

What trashing are you talking about?
From what I can see, Soludo can hold his own. And the way Aganga is acting, he is not doing Oxford any justice.

Mehn, some Nigerians and this belief that these name recognition.

I have come across people and debated people who have went to these elite schools and I can say for the most part, I am not impressed.

And I said thrashing, not trashing. Come on and keep up with me.

I dont get your point, you actually believe all the hype about Soludo?

An ordinary mallam is doing better than Soludo, despite all his proclamations and fake analysis.

Very funny how everybody got sucked into this "Soludo is great" hype.
Remove the tribalism from your eyes. We all know why you have a problem with Soludo. It is, because he gave a thrashing to your kinsman. Tribalism is eating you.

Ngwa candidates have to earn that position. It will not be given to them freely.

I agree with your last sentence, but a Yoruba man always comes with the idea eons before the Ibo man knows WTF that is going on. In everything, the Yorubas take the initiative long before the Ibos understand the problem.
At least you recognized our authority. Admitting this, is the first step towards recovery. grin

SMDH!!!!! I have no idea where Gov. Peter Obi is from in Anambra state. As long as he is performing, who CARES?
We all know Abia is one of the most clannish states in Igboland. Clan identity is strong in Abia. I think it is stronger in this state than any other state in Igboland.

All the clans you have mentioned are known far and wide throughout Igboland.
