I have love for my Eastern brothers. GEJ is from the old Eastern Region, so of course we will support the man. When the going gets tough, and we all know it will be tough with him, he will always have a home in the East.

My hand is even extending to the good people of Edo State as well. Join us as Niger Deltan brothers.

This is the era of good feelings for the South-East and South-South.  cool

Beaf is my brother.

Igbos this. . . Igbo that blah blah blah.

You have to love people who make generalized, blanket statements based solely on their own opinion.

The idiocy of some people on this thread is astounding. It just shows that you can have all the education in the world and still be an "educated" fool.

If there is anyone that needs to grow up, its you ibos, so gullible and corrupt. Massob recognition and support of a Nigerian President who does not believe in the biafra struggle amount to ibos surrendering their agitation and future just because of something that is the root of all evils.
Let me reiterate. Grow up. I would expect someone with some sort of education to talk intellectually instead of a buffoon.

You can never trust ibos, once they see money, they skull will enlarge like ao Amazon Snake hungry for years with a prey in sight. Now they have become abandoned babies. Any one to create motherless baby home for millions of people who have been betrayed by their leaders.
Grow up.

Do you mean Jomo Kenyata?
Not Jomo Kenyata, but Dedan Kimathi. He is the one who led the Mau Mau against the British. He was of the Kikuyu ethnicity of Kenya.
PoliticsRe: Favorite African Revolutionary Leaders by EzeUche2(m): 12:33am On Feb 04, 2011
Jomo Kimathi - Mau Mau Uprising in Kenya

Luis Cabral - Guinea-Bissau War of Independence

Agostinho Neto - Angolan War of Independence

Many of the revolutionaries I have mentioned were also killed by foreign elements, or elements within their own nations.

I have always campaigned that the SS and SE share the same politics, all the squabbles of the past were self defeating and have been used by the cabal to keep both sides down. We have to look at politics from a higher perspective than some of the absolutely ridiculous claims that were floating around the SE and SS.

I pray that GEJ really performs for the SE, in order to totally and permanently seal what should be a natural family bond.
I support this motion 100%

For far too long, people have tried to divide us, but thank God many of our people have realized that our differences are small compared to the shared culture and histories.

On a side note, APGA probably made a deal with GEJ to insure that their are free and fair elections in the South-East. Maybe APGA may sweep the South-East. I hope they pick up Imo and Abia State.

Beaf this must be good news for you. cheesy

I hope you see how we Igbos are the friends of the Niger Deltans. We even adopted GEJ. This is a Pan-Niger Delta movement.

At the zenith of Benin empire, it extended to Ikare, Owoh, Ekiti etc, yet this groups are NOT INSAME to disclaim their Yorubaness unlike their Igbo counterparts that were also under Benin Empire. What a shame.
I don't understand why some Igbo groups like to distance themselves from the wider Igbo, but the fact remains that the Benin Empire has influence some Igbo clans. That cannot be denied.

Benin Empire is Nigeria's classical empire. We should not be ashamed to say that. They have a rich history.

Just like the Romans who saw the Ancient Greeks as their cultural forbears, many group in Southern Nigeria see the Benin Empire as their cultural forbears.

Sapele boils as gunmen kill politician, kidnap 2 raze houses, vehicles

By Emma Amaize

WARRI- THERE was pandemonium at Sapele in Delta Sate, today, following the killing of a PDP stalwart, Mr. Saturday Akpode, alias Agbamu and kidnap of two hotel proprietors, Mr. Benjamin Ogeregbaje, alias Apolo and Mr. Sam Akpeteyetan, alias Santos.

Some residents told Vanguard that gunshots were fired indiscriminately in the community on Wednesday night. But, the Delta Waterways Security Committee, DWSC, alerted the appropriate security agencies, leading to the deployment of men of the Joint Task Force, JTF, on the Niger-Delta and policemen same day to contain the rampage by ugly situation.

Akpode, who was the chairman of PDP in ward five, Sapele and a personal assistant to the chairman of Sapele Local Government, Hon Godwin Atose was shot dead by gunmen who allegedly trailed him on Cemetry Road, Sapele at about 10.00 pm inside his car on Wednesday night.

Despite the deployment of security agents, there was rampage, as a group of boys protesting Akpode gruesome death, set some houses, vehicles and stores ablaze.

The Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN, office on Adeola Road, Sapele , was also torched. It was gathered that Akpode had barely left Hon Atose’s house that night when he was murdered.
However, the army and police had taken position at some strategic places by yesterday morning and pushed the boys out of the streets.

I am not going to argue about Lagos. But Eko is its original name. Even the Oba of Lagos traces his roots to the Benin Empire so do not argue with me over that.

Just like Onitsha was founded by Bini settlers.

But I prefer if PhysicsMHD would comment. I like his views on HIS culture.
