BeraBera: @Mr/Miss/Mrs. Poster: Kindly tell nairalanders how many women or men you have slept with and how many abortions you have committed. We need to know this pls so that we'll decide on whether to vote for u or not when ur own time comes. We're waiting 4 ur answer and ur time starts now!
I am sure he won't waste any time kindly telling you, if he decided to aspires to rule over you as president as Jonathan, which give him license to be:
1. Him/Family to be fed by the tax payers
2. Given three executive jets to travel the world without visa at any given time without worrying about cost
3. Drive the most expensive and latest car Benz can afford to make for free, with legion of drivers at his disposal
4. Live rent free in a mansion called Aso Rock for years
5. Him/Family served by unlimited aides and servants at the tax payers expense
6. Earn monthly salary you would probably will not earn in a your life time
7. In position to give his visiting guests $50K in cash for their taxi fare home.

And many more. To whom much is given much is expected. Public figures, especially an elected ones are a servants of those that elected them by true definition of democracy and the public deserve to know every bit of them if they so wish before they give them the job that brings some unprecedented riches/privileges most folks will only dream of. And if a public doesn't want their private life scrutinised, resign, go home and start your own private business and keep your life to yourself.

He has to say what his present occupied position demands of him and that is what you expect from an imperfect selfish human. But when the time comes, I bet he will be the first running around trying to be the new army chief of his new nation.
Just like Nigerian democrats, they love democracy and nothing else matters, but at the first sound of the coup gun, they will be the first to become whatever needed to become under the military and their love of democracy disappears and forgotten

Honeycity: this is a cheap way of tarnishing Mr president's image
You are the only person that is actually making sense. Its all about image. Your president wanted to be seen as a one lady's man of 2.4 family happy set up, hence the picture.
Most folks, maybe not in Nigeria conjure up such image when choosing or looking up to their leaders. Its the image Jonathan wanted to project or wanted to be seen, so if the opposite is the case, its called deceit and it tells you the type of individual the person is.

In Nigeria this is absolutely no news because that is the type of life most people live there, but in most democracies, the voters will tell you that if a candidate projects an opposite image against what is the reality, there is no way they can trust him, when it come to telling them the truth over bigger issues.

mimima: busy body.!!!!!!!!!!!nonsense
Most Nigerians are still with the military dictatorial mindset. This is democracy, you have every right to know every single detail of the life of those aspring to rule you with your mandate. Irrespective of how insignificant its to you, it may be important to another person as they make their informed decision as when casting their vote for that person.
It may be my personal policy/choice never to vote for a polygamous person into office and that may have affected my attitude towards Jonathan if I knew first hand that he had a bit on the side from his legitimate wife. Having no biological children is not a crime and desperation to have one irrespective is not most people's cup of tea.

Imagine Americans waking up with the news that their president has an unknown family tucked away somewhere, not Michelle and her girl as it has been known. It will take time before an average Nigerian grasp that democracy is not just casting voting and counting but attitude to life, issue of voters and politicians. When you are in public life, in reality, there are no such thing as private life.

edicolove: You are obviously one of those Nigerians who sit somewhere in agege or in malaysia and have no clue of how Nigeria works. For you to say David mark can call Almajiris together? You have just exposed yourself. SMH!
Who or what is Almajiris?
Trust Nigerian dictatorial rulers, if you don't know or haven't heard about David Mark, you will think that he is a novice foreign visiting lecturer instead a member of ruling elite and number three part of the govt for that matter.

When MEND were flexing their muscles, southern leaders weren't called to speak out and if any of them had dare, that person would had been dead. Boko Haram are ten times more dangerous and daring than MEND and he is calling this unnamed northerner to speak out. What does he mean by speaking it? What is the public paying him for as number three person in government? What has he done himself, instead sitting in far away peaceful Uyo wasting public money in the name of retreat? Why can't they take the first step by daring Boko Haram and take their retreat to Damaturu?

Abdication of responsibility has always been their operational method. Does the people want to hear about 17 virgin joke or do they want a straight forward proactive action by their government and its officials? Whenever Mark and the likes of him, no matter which part they come from showed any sort of concern, it only when the statu of One Nigeria (their milking cow) is at threat.

All the years he spent is enjoying all sorts of political patronage in the army, he was doing so as a northerner. But now the north has lost power, suddenly a line is being drawn and they think all of us are gullible to forget. As number three man, how many of such places Boko Haram had been destroying the peace has he visited to get a fist hand information or how many law has he and his cronies pass to reflect the menacing problem and now he is talking as if he is not part of te governance that suppose to have all the answers.

I hope one day, wisdom will mean something to you, so you don't end up a dried out noise maker like Ayittey.
Like I said, I would rather concentrate on the issue of the thread rather than the age of a faceless name on the internet. Meaningless to me and a waste of my time.
People like me and Prof Aryeteey are no longer comfortable with African mediocre rulers, no matter where ruler comes from.
Here in the West, we are seen as Africans first before anything else. So what this idiotic rulers do or do not do affect all of us, hence we are proud of Mandela, because his name gives us a measure of respect and integrity, irrespective of his country.
PoliticsRe: GEJ Is A Joke & Clueless - Ghanaian Prof. Ayittey by Eziachi: 5:46pm On Jun 26, 2012
londoner: Ayittey is a respected man and scholar and we should not dispute that, but he had a moment of phrasing his comments like someone in a barbershop would. He should not have called GEJ a madman(knowing the insult of that as an African man) and he for sure should not have called on Nigerians to overthrow him outside of elections, knowing fully well the current disunity and uneasiness we are having in the country.

These are not ideas and suggestions that should be thrown around lightly, especially not by someone who is supposed to be educated and an academic.
When a supposed elected leader in a democracy used the phrase:"I don't give a damn" when asked to show the public, how much he worth- He merited nothing but be called a mad man.
If Jonathan said he cannot visit an area where hundred of his own people had died under his watch as the C-in-C because its too dangerous for him, despite being guarded by a battalion, he is simply mad and doesn't need any window dressing. What he is saying in effect is that Boko Haram is now in full control of certain part of a country he is supposed to be running, while he is in-charge in areas he considered less dangerous and you can see why he went ahead and travelled to Brazil while his citizen are dying.

If you had been living in fear in Borno and some of this places and you expected a re-assurance from you leader and you ended up hearing that last Sunday, how would you feel? if not totally abandoned to your faith by the main person, whose first responsibility is to protect your live and property?

Have we forgotten how much George Bush was lambasted all over the world when he decided just to flew over New Orleans during the catrina hurricane disaster, when his people needed his comfort on the ground? Till today, many American has not forgiven him for that act, including those in his own party.
Serious nations would go to war because of the life of one of his citizens, but here you have a man saying he cannot trave to the trouble spot in his country because the airport is not working? Why is it not working? Only in Nigeria an airport is completely shut down due to refurbishment (But thats for another day to talk about it)
A good leader will walk the distance if that is what it takes to show leadership and reassure the people that you are governing. The days of accepting mediocrity just for ethnic loyalty is no longer acceptable to many people, especially Africans irrespective of country.

For many decades, we had turn our supposed servant-leaders into mini gods and you see that through the utterances of their supposed victims of their misrule.

Beaf: The bolded is GEJ's only fault as a leader.

Nigerians have a penchant for shouting and acting foolish. I say this without apology as a Nigerian myself, because I really wonder at people who are in a competition to shoot down the first President of the country to have the populace in mind. The rate at which we are going, we are headed for war of a severity that will make boko haram pale into insignificance.

Lets be honest, this Ayittey nonsense is a simple reflection of the ugly politics in Nigeria; in more normal countries, the people would have unified to fight the foreigner, instead like dullards, some see his words as political weaponry they can freely use. I can foresee a situation in which the core-North and SW alienate themselves to an extent that the division becomes real and face potential heavy defeat on the warfront. There is no need for this bitter politics, we are entering fearful times.
If the bolded was his one and only fault as leader, how come he was a PHD teacher for many years? Please remind me what a teacher does again? Could that had include explaining things even to the least brainy person?.
One of the most important gift of a leader, especially in a democracy is ability to explain your plans, actions and inactions. For not to have had that quality as number one according to you, means that the guy is not fit for the position he is presently occupying.

all4naija: Those were the two front runners up! Why do you want to hide the truth. It is like the GOP primary where we know Mit Romney and Rit Santorum were two different candidates at the GOP poll. We know the truth yet settle for the opposite obvious.
They were front runners because you made them so. In sane countries, front runners a based on ideas, programmes and their plan for their voters. Before you voted last time tell me the front runners plan for the environment for example?

America has two main recognised political parties and electioneering in America is an expensive business that requires a billionaire to run for President.
But in Nigeria its different, apart from Buhari/GEJ, what about Ribadu? if you have no time for the remaining nine candidates as you chose. When those non front runner requested for a TV debate, Jonathan ran away and rather opted for an interview with a musician.

In your opinion GEJ is a better candidate than Ribadu? so I don't know where GOP candidates/primaries comes into this or its bearing. So ITS NOT ABOUT YOUR SO CALLED FRONT RUNNERS but tribal/sectional loyalty. Most of you will choose a goat as their front runner as long as he is of the same tribe as them.

Don't mind them, this is all about the fight for the heart and soul of northern politic but Lamido want to use the south as chest game against the person he perceived to stand between him and his tall ambition to rule Nigeria in 2015 Buhari.

I had been telling southerners here for a long time that those behind the killings in the north are the likes of Lamido and they are quite happy that the gullible southerners are looking at the wrong person in Buhar and the ,ore they blackmail Buhari the better for them, because they don't want their masses to wise up to to the deceit of which Buhari has decided to turn his back on.

rasputinn: One of the few brave and astute politicians from the north. He has my respect
Unfortunately people like Lamido are your real enemies that had kept Nigeria in darkness by manipulating your emotion at every given chance. Northern elite like Lamido is scared stiff about Buhari's personality.

Their very existence depended on keeping one Nigeria going because they knew that anything called Arewa republic tomorrow of which will isolate them with a possibleand easily leadership of Buhari and co will easily spell doom for his like. Lamido and co will no longer has the south as a pedistle to lash on to settle northern fight between the likes of conservative establishment Lamido against Buhari and co populist group.

If he claimed that existence of anyone in the north depended on the person's support for Buhari, how come he won the election on the platform of PDP instead Buhari's party? Which means he election was fraudulent . If Buhari is that powerful in the north as he claimed and holds them hostage, how come PDP controls most states in the north?, How come Jonathan got such a high volume of vote in the north, even in Katsina?

Suddenly Lamido is calling Buhari a Fulani and himself Hausa? Since when did he recognised the separation? When they were sharing Nigeria in last 35 years, what we use to hear is one undivided north, but now he knew about Idoma and others.

But fortunately for people like Lamido, their audience (gullible Nigerians) will buy his nonsense and swallow without reading between the lines and even looked at his past record as a politician. Some has already started calling him brave, astute and so on, for one of the architect of selling June 12 election 1993 in exchange for personal gain.

There is this other guy i love his song, his name is spider ududo. The sam warrior story,i heard it too,i always wonder if it's true, they said that when they gave him the lethal injection,he came back and sang the song 'uwa chiga chiga'.

Oriental brothers are cool, songs like obinwannem, nwanyi diya wu eze, onye ka uwa ya kacha nma are great,i can't just get enough of them, owerri dialect and anioma dialect are good for music, even though i always have difficulty understanding the former.
Don't believe those radio without power stories- Christogonus Ezewuiro Obinna a.k.a Dr. Sir Warrior died of diabetes after suffering for 10 good years. Believe it or not, he is a very good friend of mine since we met in 1985 in London, when he came to record his album-Anyi Nyiri Odo with his band and a friend introduced us..
His two grown up kids (Uche & Ajuzieogu) are big disappointment. They set a tone that they will copy their father with the album released after their father death in 1999 and that was it.
Ajuzieogu I think reside in Chicago now after graduating from Abia State Uni, going around america with mic in his hand singing his fathers songs, over a CD PLAYER at any Igbo party going in the state.
Peoples Club is still going but not as prestigious as it was when I joined in 1981 through my fathers recommendation. I still remember then that you have to have an asset worth at least 100k naira before you can become a member. LOL. Lots of money then though. My branch here in London still function but I hadly attend this days-full of noisy/show-off kids this days.

They have been into this business of falsehood for years but today they have gone full circle. I challenge them to come out with concrete proof in support of this post. This is how they have been deceiving gullible Nigerians on social media. I have checked thru all the major dailies, non reported this fiction. Why is Sahara engaging in petty lies? If they have been payed to ridicule GEJ, must they resort to lies in order to achieve it. It's so funny. No matter how hard one tries to defend this falsehood, it will will not fly when no other daily comes out with this lies.
All news media many times made up news or tell outright lies and this can be the case with this news too but you can't say that they are lying without producing alternative and authentic argument like giving us the list of those that went with Jonathan to Brazil.
Saying they are lying , which may be the case is not enough.
Because you same guys called them the same names just last month when they told us that June will be hell of a month from Boko Haram and Jonathan prophesied that Boko Haram will be history by the same June, although GEJ still has 9 more days before June runs out.

Also, next time you sit in a Chinese restaurant, feeling cool and "above cassava," while eating prawn crackers in Brixton (or wherever), know that you are eating cassava, which the Chinese (like the Jamaicans) are not ashamed of.

Bruv, your low self-esteem is Nigeria's developmental burden. Self pride fuels development, so as it is, you really are not much use to the country's match forwards. That is why you are here, supporting lies.
I was asking that you give me names of the Jamaican product, so that I check it out and you are abusing me grin grin grin grin, because if your argument is based on the Jamaican crackers you posted with its pix before, that is not cassava but pure flour/water/salt.
I had been munching it since time unknown and many are not actually made in Jamaica but a bakery in southampton Road in Peckham. Back home Agulu bakers like Ejidike Bread had been making that crackers since Adam and Eve.

You see what being an awuf luv'n phuck can do to you? You suddenly fail to realise that IT IS YOUR JOB to invent and make your LG and village useful to the country.

As for your unfortunate quips about cassava, its just a sign of a horrible inferiority complex. Cassava seems "local" to you only because it is not imported from Europe or America. I'm sure you don't even know that you can buy cassava buscuits on the streets in the US and UK; it is exported there by Jamaicans (who are only 3 million in population) who do not share your inferiority complex (the reason why reggae is a Worldwide brand and juju music is not).
Can you name one bakery that use cassava in Nigeria?
I bet you buy cassava bread every morning before exporting to others. Jamaican invented and enjoyed reggae music first before exporting it to the world. I am off to Jamaica for a wedding this Sept, give me the name of the Jamaican cassava bread/biscuit that you mentioned and I will check it out or even here in Brixton.
