Well deserved ban. I can't understand why some people think it is OK for kids to be exposed to such music. Anyone who feels the need to listen to the music should go get the CD for private use. (by the way I listen to worse in my car, but would switch to radio if my kids were in the car) Also, although I think that the "Ekaete/Calabar girls" stereotype is wrong and disrespectful, it should not be a reason for the ban since we all have the rights to say what we we want as long as it doesn't involve direct/personal slander. Can I also say that "Calabar people" have been at the receiving end of insults from very ignorant people from all corners of Nigeria and it is not fair. Be it known to all that they are among the best people on earth. Very easy going and accommodating set of people. Very hardworking, social and keen on education. People should not take their humility for stupidity. Maybe, they need to assert themselves more, because it is war zone out there ! To all those that love to stereotype and make jokes at the expence of others, please note that "although young men throw stones at frogs is sports, the frogs do not die in sports, but in earnest" |
006:What did you think ? You have patience tho. Some posts go straight into my waste basket. |
UcheUwadi_:Too complex for simple minds, why bother ? |
Afam:Very good points. In addition to those, they get to keep most of their money as they only pay tax on what they declare. As for owning 3 houses in the US, all they need is a good credit profile, focus and good deposits and boom ------- Bob is their uncle. I know a few people who have built a portfolio worth a few milion pounds that way. |
jamace:Classic. I like that saying. |
I thought I knew you once I saw your user name, but your post about your waka convinced me. If na espionage you go, na so dem for catch you. Na so I take identify one of my tenants for here and he was shocked when I told him in real life. Howz life tho ? |
Ok, check your facebook |
Ok then, Now I can say that I know you very well . How's madam ? Are you on my book ,facebook ? |
haha, olodo one kobo- go and check the definition of race. Igbo is at most an thnic group- a pseudoethnic group for that matter SEFAGO:I have seen your previous post here, which are full of infantile rants and I am going to descend to your level just this once. Take a look at your posts above and if you had any IQ at all, you would recoil back in shame for your statements were stand-alone, absolute and without any reference to context. You talk about context, a lifeline, which I gave you when I provided the various definitions of "race" in a bid to educate you and your cohorts. If you are so thickheaded that you cannot accept definitions from a dictionary, then I 'm afraid that you will come out of college/university still an empty barrel. |
irohadis:I think I know who you are. Did u go to UNN ? Lived in Ireland and enjoyed bell ringing ? |
Na today ? Nigerian taken Amerika as a home, nigerian taken russia as a home, nigerian taken the moon as a home. Who cares where you "taken" as home ? O.k I "taken" Jerico as a home and my parents no sabi say I dey go Jerico until the morning of my departure. |
biina:I never said that Igbo was not a race. I said that Igbo would be classified as an ethnic group (interchangeable with race) under US demographic classifications. I only sought to correct those people ( yourself included) who made a bold statement that Igbo was not a race "regardless of the intentions" as someone put it. biina: biina:You did not know that Igbo was a race regardless of the context until today, why don't you admit ? I bet you wish you consulted google before your gaffe. The posts above show that context was not an issue with you when you made your statements. I know you are quite energetic when it comes to making long post, even when you don't understand what you are talking about, but I am not going to be sucked into that. Bye Bye. |
Richy, thanx for providing the dictionary definitions of race again but some people would rather die in ignorance than accept correction. "The blind stares with a million pair of eyes but will never see" --- Tupac ![]() chosen04:I couldn't have said that better. Like I said in the past, some people resort to google to argue about everything under the sun (from electricity to solar energy to making gari) even when they are talking rubbish, but the simple things in life elude their comprehension. |
All those saying that Igbo is not a race should get some education. The word "RACE" has various definitions including: 1.a group of persons related by common descent or heredity. 2.a population so related. 3.Anthropology. a.any of the traditional divisions of humankind, the commonest being the Caucasian, Mongoloid, and Negro, characterized by supposedly distinctive and universal physical characteristics: no longer in technical use. b.an arbitrary classification of modern humans, sometimes, esp. formerly, based on any or a combination of various physical characteristics, as skin color, facial form, or eye shape, and now frequently based on such genetic markers as blood groups. c.a human population partially isolated reproductively from other populations, whose members share a greater degree of physical and genetic similarity with one another than with other humans. 4.a group of tribes or peoples forming an ethnic stock: the Slavic race. 5.any people united by common history, language, cultural traits, etc.: the Dutch race. (dictionary.com) Igbo can't be classified as a race in US census but an ethnic minority, not because Igbo is not a race but because of the context in which "RACE" is used in US census. Some of you fellas dash off to google to become experts in business, electricity, nuclear weapons, religion and everything under the sun but would not even know the simplest of things or consult google as usual because you think you know. Ignorance is not really a problem but the refusal to learn, accept corrections and sticking to a position regardless of facts is simply pathetic. |
Kobojunkie:That is what you call political maturity, but then that would be too complex for a simple ROFLAMAOing mind to digest. |
Emperoh:Yes, but he's been carried far enough. Time for him to stand up and walk. |
It's live on CNN. Details to emerge ! |
ndu_chucks:By your reasoning, Governor Jang is the guilty and corrupt party because he did not hand state's money to Maina and Bali is silly for pointing out the ineptitude of the GOC while your Maina is whiter than snow. Hmmm, O.K |
Ndu-Chuks, I am disappointed that you think that relationship between Jang and Maina should determine the level of the later's commitment to his call of duty. You even blamed Jang for not establishing a corrupt relationship with the GOC. However, I will cut you some slack on this occasion and assume that that was a light hearted attempt to joke about our egunje culture. The relationship between them should be professional at all times regardless of how they view each other and there should always be an open communication chanel between the governor of a state and all the security bodies in the state. |
Katsumoto:The onus is on you to provide evidence that he opened the court room in the middle of the night, sat on the judges chair and awarded himself an injunction. You are missing the point, which is that he exercised his rights and took his grievance to that place that we are all advised to take our grievances to i.e court. The timing of his lawsuit was also his prerogative and was probably a well calculated tactics. You can not take those away from him. Your grievances should be towards the judge who granted the injunction, Babangida who annulled the election, Shonekan who readily accepted to be President and CIC armed forces who was power drunk himself or indecisive and failed to release the results, Kingigbe his running mate who accepted to serve in the folowing administration. I also hate military governments and do not want to see them 200 miles of Aso Rock, but if I want to blame someone for a crime, I would readily have facts to back me up. Look at my previous posts and you will understand that I don't do merry go round arguements and as such I am out of this one unless you can prove that it is illegal to go to court to present your case. |
Katsumoto:Sorry I limited his rights to voice his opinion to democracy. Let me rephrase that : His has inalienable rightsto speak his mind as long as he does not defame others, incite hatred or endanger lives. If he went to court in the middle of the night and obtained an injunction, it means that the court was open for business in the middle of the night and you can't blame him for that. Everyone, except you understands that the court is the right place to take your grievances to and he did just that, so how can you hate him for that and not hate the preciding judge or Babangida or Shonekun or Kingigbe ? Your anger is misguided and without any reasonable foundation. I may not approve of someone, but I can't take away his fundamental rights from him. When I hate on him, I would have a reason to do so without sentiments. If I were you, I would argue with facts and not sentiments. |
Katsumoto:He had the right to call for the annulment of that election. Everyone has a right to voice their opinion as long as it does not include defamation of another, incitement of hate and goading others to kill. He did not annul the election, he went to court and the court granted his plea. Babangida annulled the election and Nzeribe smiled with satisfaction period. Babangida is the man you want to hold responsible for June 12. You also have to blame those that accepted positions in the "step aside government" for conniving to scuttle democracy and not a man who exercised his democratic rights and went to court and did not bear arms against a democratically elected government, anything else is misguided. |
SapeleGuy:Did he really sell arms to Nigeria during the war or is that another urban myth ? I don't argue about what I do not know but I always seek to know in the event that I do not know. Yes, if he sold to Nigeria, it was very immoral eventhough legitimate. Dede Eziachi, you have so much wisdom. Do you know if he sold weapons to Nigeria during the war ? I knew he was heavily involved with Angola and Congo and I know that he was stupendously wealthy when he first campaigned in 1983. He had helicopters and private jets then. His private jets were seized by the FG for a short period after the coup. Military leadership is a type of leadership and he has the rights to call for it if he desires that type of leadership, but it is up to the rest of us to shoot him down on that and continue to demand for true democracy. |
The military have had billions of years to rule and make things good for the common man and they blew their chances, so how are they going to be different next time around ? No way ! However, we cannot continue as we are at the moment. The govt needs to be overhauled but who will bell the cat ? Not the senators or the house of rep members, so who then ? Regional government is the answer, but how do we achieve that ? Sovereign national conference is the peaceful way, but outright revolution and militancy will suffice. It is unacceptable that we have so many lawmakers and such a large government with nearly $1 billion per annum going in way of wages and allowances i.e legal expenditure, add all the corner-corner money and you wonder why we can never move forward. If it was upto me, the lawmakers would be trimmed to just 2 or a maximum of 3 from each state or 12 from each region. The state assembly redused to a maximum of 9 representatives. No local governement chairmen, but lower statehouse comprising a maximum of 3 members from each local goverment. The function of the lower state house members would be to present their local issues to the house for debate/approval, but they would have the full right to vote on any issue in the state house. It is absolutely outrageous that we have to foot the bill of loafers! Regarding Nzeribe, a man has the rights to sell arms to anyone he choses to if that is his line of business. However, a man should also be bound by good ethics in business. If he sold weapons to Nigeria during the war, then he has more guilt than the Russians and the Brits and the Egyptians because his own kith and kins were at the receiving end of his business and such a man deserves to be paid in bad coins. |
biina:Quite rich coming from someone who delights in bigotory. A little introspection may be useful here, but then your holier than thou attitude may prevent any form of introspection. By the way, EU nations have maintained their sovereignty and seperate armed forces, and there are several areas in some member states wanting their own independence. |
"Even though your kinsman executed our leaders, he is still our hero. As for thee his kinsmen, womenfolks and sibblings, we shall blame his actions on you and kill you in your thousands." My take: the offender cannot be a hero while the innocent brother at home is regarded as the villain. If he was your hero, why did you embark on killing those that you thought were related to him ? You have finally confessed. You embarked on your progrom out of envy and the Nzeogwu coup was only an excuse for you to let blood. The same false provocation was used as an excuse in modern day Nigeria when the same envy drove you to kill again because of a cartoon in far away Denmark. Yes, Chukwuma Nzeogwu is not Igbo and he is your hero when it suits you. He is also an Igbo representing an Igbo agenda when it suits you. Make up your mind. Was he Igbo or not ? If you say that he was Igbo, is he still your hero ? If he is still your hero for his actions on Jan 15 1966, which you regard as good and heroic deeds, can you now explain why you continue to justify the killing of innocent easterners based on the good deeds of your hero ? |
Visionless country, selling cassava for N1.00 and buying gari for N10.00 |
hahaha. . . my friend, dont lie to us. . . so it is only in August 2009 that you noticed you had lost money after 18 solid months of bull run under Soludo. . . this is the funniest sh@t I've heard this month.Did you mean a Bear (negative) run ? Mid 2008 - April 2009 was a calamity for the stock market worldwide, so if there was a bear market in NSE during that period, it was only a reflection of the global picture. Most, if not all markets in the world are still below their April 2006 level talkless of the peak in 2007, so it not perculiar to NSE. By the way the stock market has other components in addition to the banking sector and the downturn was general, eventhough it was triggered by the banks. I posit that those loans were handed out for economically-useless activities such as procurement of Government contracts (which will be carried out anyway, whether or not those loans are given) rather than real industry.Financing government contracts with bank loans is not useless to the economy. Infact, that's the way it should be. Major contracts that have effect on the economy should have a solid backing from a solid bank or consortium of banks. Government contracts are massive all over the world and Nigeria in particular since most things in Nigeria are run by the government. Now that brings another issue to the fore. A lot of banks are owed a lot of bad money because government refused to pay a lot of their contractors for contracts awarded and executed. (2.) During Soludo's tenure, the rate of growth of manufacturing in Nigeria continued to fall year on year, despite the so-called confidence and loans given out by the banks.Everyone knows that the continuous decline of the manufaturing sector is as a result of the inability to compete with the imported goods as a result of the following culprits: 1. No reliable power supply 2. No cheap transportation caused by bad roads and fuel scarcity 3. Lack of security 4. Lack of reliable water supply. So, I really think you are hitting below the belt when you insinuate that Soludo was to blame in any way for the decline in the manufaturing sector, unless I misunderstood your point. At topic, Sanusi is now calling the shots and he has his supporters and the opposition alike. Even though I prefer bullish financial managers to conservative ones, I would give him the chance to chart the course he wants to follow and to show which direction he is heading to. I am yet to have a strong opinion as to where he is heading and how he plans to get there, but one thing I am sure of is that disparaging Soludo won't take us any where. |
so south south is finally producing the presidency before south east.what a shameGive S.E justice, equity and fair play any time and we are happy to let you keep the presidency. Give the average Nigerian the good/basic things of life like water, electricity, good roads, security, good environment for business/industry, healthcare, good schools, etc ,etc and we are happy to let the "ASO-ROCKIANS" and "APO VILLAGIANS" to keep fooling themselves until the day of reckoning. |
Ndu_Chuks, yaya dei ? N na gesua. Beaf, how now ? I just dey pass and I say make troway salute for una. Edoyad, interesting questions . Alhaji Ndu, over to you. |
