long overdue, its so funny how people concludes that polytechnic students are less intelligent.... the institutions dont change who
you are, i passed through both system and I can categorically say that if polytechnics get more funding and attention like universities, they'll be on par.... but polytechnic should be restructured to accomodate only technical related courses, social science and administrative courses should be totally cancelled.
The govt still have a lot to do to normalize it, what would happen to those with barrier in their workplace? i know most establishments will be reluctant to lift those barriers... the name Polytechnic Should be removed, attach them to universities and make them award diploma only.

In USA, you can buy any army uniform and any army rank on eBay or Amazon, wear the Army uniform to anywhere, wear the army uniform to go see Barack Obama,even to any army unit in the United States and no one will ask you how far, now that's what Human right is.

The Nigerian army which are ranked 90th in the world best forces will torture you, strip you and then lock you up for wearing their uniform, to me, it's insane.

This is one of the many reasons why any Nigerian that travels abroad won't even think of coming back to Naija.

I'm not in the habit of exchanging words with people online but I feel we could educate ourselves. there's a law that reserves the exclusivity of camouflage for military in Nigeria. that's why immigration, police and custom was stopped from using camouflage with effects from January 1st, 2016.... the sole reason is impersonation. can you put on a lawyer's wig if you ain't one? camouflage is a military uniform, if you're not a military personnel why putting it on?
another reason is security reason, if you remember anders bieverk (that mad man that slaughtered over 70 youths in Norway), he was dressed in full police regalia that was how he gained access to the camp with all the weapons.

we don't necessarily have to imitate developed countries in every aspect especially if our society is not mature for such. Peace

I plan to commence a house project to accommodate my family. My friend has given me (free)the house plan made by his architect for his building, and I love the house.
I want to just call a builder to build same for me and save N100k architect fees.
Is anything wrong with my decision?

you'll need an approved design but if the design is complete with your name on it, you can submit it for approval. I'm a builder though...

Thank you all,the land is located in Lokoja Kogi state and the size is 200 by 200 it actually very big I have done the fence.
I also have my design with me already just coat of construction starting from foundation.
The structure are
Down stir one living room,one minior living room,one bedroom,store, dinning,kitchen ,guest toilet
Upper level re
3bedrooms, living room,study mini kitchen all ensuite.
Want to know roughly estimate of construction of foundation.

what exactly do you need, where's the land situated, what kind of structure are you looking at, is it just design that you want or with measured bill of quantities, then do you just want the documents or you want us to carry out the construction for you... be specific... don't forget the size of your plot as well

on a lighter mood, I don't think there's a school that spend money on horticultural works like ABU in the whole country. I've been to almost all the major schools in the country and ABU is naturally ahead. I did my postgraduate study there and I wished I'd known on time, would have gone there for my undergraduate. and when you think of influence, ABU have the strongest alumni in the country.
OAU, UI and UNILAG battling for supremacy in the west, UNN and UNIZIK battling it in the east, UNIPORT and UNIBEN battling it in the south but in the entire north ABU has no rival. My classroom was A/C fitted,, we are not that much and it's very conducive. I know they might not be the best in terms of academics but are among the very best. what's the essence of going to the best without opening up opportunities for you. Enter anywhere in the north with ABU cert and you're naturally favored.

Nuclear energy is the best and cheapest source of energy, the problem is the risk associated with it. also, if placed in wrong hands, it can be used for nuclear weapon. but i dont think Nigeria is ready yet for it due to the following reasons,
1. Its very expensive to establish
2. where do we situate the plants due to risks associated with it
3. how do we link the generated energy to the
existing hydro plants
4. with our political and security instabilities, how do we ensure a group will not rise tomorrow and threaten the whole nation to blow up the plants, the effects of nuclear weapon is catastrophic, hiroshima and nagasaki havnt recovered from 1945 bombings, 70years after
5. we dont have enough scientists to maintain it, as it was evident in power sector, you cant depend on foreigners to maintain it because they benefits from its malfunctioning.

If government can successfully handle the problems stated, then we are good to go

I am all for Buhari's anti-corruption war but his continous shielding of Dambazzau makes no sense to me. Dambazzau has a load of garbage. His antecedent as COAS is clear to see. just go to ship house and you'll see them.
The man has started in interior again. If Ihejerika is indicted, there's no way buratai anf dambazzau can be clean. No one in past administration can feign ignorance about the collective looting that happened. BURATAI & DAMBAZZAU must be probed.
