Northern Pastors endorse Osinbajo’s nomination
Thursday, 25 December 2014 00:00 Written by EDITOR

Osinbajo-1CHRISTIAN clerics, under the auspices of Pastors Council of Northern Nigeria, have applauded and threw their weight behind Professor Yemi Osinbajo’s nomination as running mate to the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential flagbearer in the 2015 elections, retired General Muhammadu Buhari.

Endorsing Osinbajo’s choice, the pastors said he possesses all leadership qualities for the position.

The clergies unanimously agreed that Osinbajo’s choice heralds hope for a new Nigeria in view of his experience in public and private sectors, and also being a pastor of the Redeem Christian Church of God (RCCG).

Addressing journalists in Kaduna, the convener of the Council, Pastor

Bulus Yahaya, cautioned Nigerians to insist that the best leadership that would salvage the nation from its political, social and economic problems emerge in the 2015 general elections.

He said: “We are happy and satisfied to no end that our colleague, Pastor Osinbajo, was chosen as running mate to a presidential candidate in one of the political parties.

“The integrity, intelligence, humility, fear of God and dedication of Pastor Osinbajo to the cause of better Nigeria is a clear identity he carries as a breastplate, and it is not in doubt that it is a wise decision.”

Pastor Yahaya said this development was a good omen and taking Nigeria’s democracy to greater height in view of the quality and positive credence to our struggling democracy.

“His (Osinbajo’s) credentials are intimidating and a clear attestation of hard work, knowledge and of moral standing,” he said.

“He is an erudite scholar, having excelled as a university don, and also a distinguished lawyer with the privilege rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria and a successful man of God, being a pastor.”

On the need to achieve successful 2015 general elections, Pastor Yahaya, who warned against manipulation of religion, said: “We are calling on all Nigerians to shun manipulators of religion for political goals.

“Let us vote people on the basis of what they can offer and better the country for common good, peace and stability.

“We must strive hard to run issue-based political process, non-combative and free of sentimental campaigns of calumny so that we will, at the end of the day, get viable leadership at all levels.”

Get it right my fellow. This statement is not about christians but Nigerians. You need to go to the North and see whether you can freely move in this joyous Season, even in Abuja! In other words, he is telling us the insecurity challenges like bh, kidnapping etc that have not allowed Nigerians EVERYWHERE to move and celebrate freely will be well-tackled. Even our president is in bondage! If you disagree then you need to tell me when have you seen him publicly during independence, Labour or Children day. The problem we have with most commentators is that they never really experienced the good old days, hence it's believed that's how life is.

Modified quoting a nairalander just 2/3 below to buttress my statement above :

"You are in bondage, if you are currently running on generator to power your house .
PDP has several strands of bondage. For many in the North east and North west, their type of bondage is high level insecurity"

Pastor Bakare denies labelling APC ‘satanic’ as news website withdraws report

Pastor Tunde Bakare is convener of Save Nigeria Group
Mr. Bakare was reported to have likened the APC to the Church of Satan
A former vice presidential candidate and convener of the Save Nigeria Group, Tunde Bakare, has denied ever labelling the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC, “satanic”, compelling a news website which originated the report to apologize and offer a retraction.
Mr. Bakare was quoted by Newswirengr.com as likening the APC to the Church of Satan, igniting an online buzz Sunday.
“APC is like a newly opened church of Satan with the evil as a pastor which could not be distinguished by Nigerians from a true living Godly church and hence could be mistaken for a real church, even when it was made of thieves (Legitimate Pen Robbers),” Mr. Bakare, who pastors the Latter Rain Assembly, was reported as saying during a sermon.
He also reportedly criticized five of the party’s governors, accusing them of corruption.
“It is very clear that 5 governors of APC in the west is far richer than their state and they have looted every penny from their state purse. People should be careful of this rogues,” he was quoted as saying.
But Mr. Bakare denied the comments in a statement Wednesday, and threatened legal action against the news site that published them.
“The publication which has been shared on other online news platforms and social media has no shred of truth,” Mr. Bakare’s lawyer, Tope Adebayo, said. “It is malicious, offensive and intended to disparage our client and cause him embarrassment and public condemnation.”
Newswirengr immediately apologized for the report and pulled it off its site later on Wednesday. The site offered a retraction and blamed its reporter in Lagos for not cross-checking a story it sourced from another journalist who claimed to have listened to Mr. Bakare’s sermon
.
“We will retract the story and will publish this apology on our website,” a spokesperson for the medium, Dia Zamani, said. “As a result of this incident, we are reviewing our gatekeeping process with a view to ensuring that a more rigorous scrutiny are done before stories are published.”

It did not, however, disclose the names of the donors in the statement.

We are happy to announce that when the managers of the First Bank of Nigeria warehoused fund unveiled N54 million so far realized, Ndigbo topped the list of the highest donors; a unique account that has GMB as the only signatory,” the statement said.

“By topping the donor list, Ndigbo has graciously demonstrated that the celestial bond between GMB and the Nigerian Masses and the Middle Class is Pan-Nigeria and not sectional as insinuated.”

The party explained that the Buhari Campaign Support Fund has Mr. Buhari as the sole signatory for transparency purposes, and said the effort is to assist the former military ruler prosecute his presidential campaign because he “refused to enrich himself while in office”.

“The South East APC salutes our people who embrace the Buhari-Bandwagon-Vehicle for Salvation; for it is our candid opinion that it is less than wise for the hard working and enterprising Ndigbo to, election after election, put all our eggs in one basket,” the party said.

Doyin Okupe Is A Big Fat Idiot By Bayo Oluwasanmi
“In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.” – George Orwell A large noise from a large man inside Aso Rock Propaganda Empire echoes across an imposing cacophony rising above all critics of President Goodluck Jonathan.
BY BAYO OLUWASANMIDEC 23, 2014

A large noise from a large man inside Aso Rock Propaganda Empire echoes across an imposing cacophony rising above all critics of President Goodluck Jonathan.

But hold your breath. Let the man introduce himself in his own modest way: “I’m Doyin Okupe, the Big, Fat, Idiot. I’m the President Senior Special Assistant on public lies and propaganda with half my brain tied behind my back. My subject is political propaganda. My stance is distortion. My persona is Jonathan comic blow-hard.”

From a moral perspective, frankly I think Okupe is not even a political problem. He is a psychiatric problem. Remember, it’s impossible to cite all the maladies of the Jonathan administration as interpreted by Okupe – Jonathan’s brain. Here is a small sampling:

Okupe has become renowned for his penchant for the outrageous. He demonstrates the absurdity by being absurd: On the merger of opposition parties which formed APC, Okupe boasts “Call me bastard if they don’t crumble and disappear by 2014.”

He’s very obese and vulnerable-looking than he sounds when defending Jonathan. He once described Jonathan as the “Mandela of Nigeria.” “I have checked through the history of Nigeria, among our past and present leaders, the only one we can call our Mandela here in Nigeria is President Jonathan.”

The president’s spokesman who lacks casual, intimate style, sounds like he’s in a soapbox. He’s intoxicated by lies, especially those flowing from his own lips. He sounds like a real braggart. On electricity, he forcefully defends Jonathan: “Don’t blame Jonathan for power failure.” He claimed that government efforts were being sabotaged by politicians who sponsor vandals to attack gas pipelines.

He has never shown any signs of being a serious or thoughtful or earnest guy. He’s a degenerate rodeo clown – a toxic provocateur. He should be kept far away from civilization. Making case for the ineptitude of Jonathan, Okupe compares Jonathan with Jesus Christ. “There is no offense to compare ourselves with our Lord. People do not understand the burden this president is bearing. He’s like Jesus Christ. He’s bearing the burden of everybody.”

To describe Okupe’s lies and propagandas as dishonest and demagogic would be equal to promoting it to the level of respectability. To regard Okupe’s pieces of craps would be to run the risk of a discourse that would never again rise above the excremental.

Fuming from both sides of his mouth, he threatens social critics who dare criticize Emperor Jonathan. “Insult President Jonathan to your peril,” the oracle warns. “Social critics who insults President Jonathan henceforth by calling him drunkard, clueless, etc., would risk being punished by the Federal Government,”

He crudely disguises his lies as an exercise in seriousness. Fact is, it’s a sinister exercise in moral frivolity. Okupe exhibits a spectacle of abject political cowardice portraying himself with dissenting bravery. Looking at his crystal ball for the 2015 presidential elections, he predicts landslide victory for Jonathan: “The choice in this election is crystal clear, it is either good luck or bad luck. This Goodluck Jonathan is the very best that we have seen … it’s impossible for Jonathan to lose election.”

Okupe as a liar and propagandist, he whips up emotion and excitement directly by violent exaggeration and by manufactured lies. He relies on symbol and sentiment, he strives continually to paralyze critical analysis and stimulate all tendencies to thoughtless and slavish acceptance. Evaluating Jonathan’s 4-year presidency, he said: “The best since 1960. Those who call GEJ clueless are biased or uninformed. He has achieved more than any president in Nigeria history.”

Like Hitler, Okupe believes the “intelligence of the masses (Nigerian people) is small,” and their forgetfulness is great.” His enemies are the Nigerian people. His goal is to annihilate them. The whole basis of his lies and propaganda is based on the fallacy of ascent – essentially fabrication inflation. On the economy: “… The Jonathan administration has courageously and innovatively been tackling with measurable, obvious and clearly tangible positive results in the last two years,” says Okupe.

Okupe represents a fool operating without insight. He attempts to control reality like a magician. His choreographic lies with elaborate stumbles follows the idea of the apotheosis of the absurd. Okupe is nothing. As soon as he starts behaving that he is something, he becomes precarious. No surprise, he cease to be mindful and mistake fantasy for reality.

Okupe is a fool at the center of the great Aso Rock conspiracy to sell poison as cool aid. His thoughts and pronouncements are fallacious, essentially a paranoid construct, one of interpreting reality for what it is not. His blind defense of Jonathan amounts to ultimate paradoxical joke of presenting Jonathan and his administration as the Fool of the future.

Okupe is a man who doesn’t shift his brain into gear before putting his mouth into motion. With his half-baked fantasies and loaded bias, no reflective or informed person can possibly believe his lies. He’s a silly and shady man who does not recognize courage of any sort even when he sees it because he cannot summon it in himself. To him, easy applause in front of credulous audience is everything.

I would like to remind Okupe that propaganda is only meaningful and believable when it can show positive results. Just show us the positive impact of Jonathan’s Transformation Agenda on Nigerians who are unemployed, hungry, sick, homeless, hopeless, and helpless. Show us water flowing from the taps, uninterrupted electricity for just 30 minutes or one hour, etc., etc., etc.

Name names of big time looters in the Jonathan administration including you who escaped justice for stealing N800 million meant for road construction projects which never took place. Reel off list of your colleague thieves jailed for looting our treasury.

Cook up a new story why government of the largest economy in Africa couldn’t pay salaries of federal civil servants for the past three months? Mount the soapbox and face the nation why the Chibok Girls are still in captivity for nearly 300 days? In short, why is everything falling apart in every sector in Nigeria?

Mr. Okupe, a true leader comes from the people and represents the people. He forges the opinion of the broad masses. That is the reality of a true leader. That is the source of his power. He is the personification of public opinion. He doesn’t need a liar or propagandist like you to win the hearts of his people.

Fellow Nigerians, as the race for 2015 shapes up, brace yourselves for more of Okupe’s Rapid Response Rabble (RRR). We can all agree no matter how the RRR is blended, crushed, pureed, cooked, and packaged, it’s all flat-out phony baloney!

At Christmas, Pastor Adeboye brings hope to Kirikiri Prison inmates

BY OUR REPORTER ON DECEMBER 23, 2014 NATIONAL
BY OLA KEHINDE-BALOGUN

Sunday, December 21, 2014, would remain evergreen in the minds of inmates and officials of the Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison, Apapa, Lagos. It was the day the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, called at the facility and made prophetic declaration of hopes to the inmates and officials of the prison. Some donations were also made to the inmates.

Like the biblical Balm of Gilead, the prophetic words of encouragement that were uttered to inmates by the respected man of God could be said to be fully comforting and emotionally soothing. Some prison officials, who pleaded anonymity, confessed to the reporter: “It was a calm moment today as ever, being under Daddy G.O. Every hurting inmate got some relief, including other participants like us.”

Upon arrival at the facility, Pastor Adeboye was welcomed by a team of top prison officials, including the Deputy Controller of Prison, M.O.O. Olaniran, as well as the accompanying pastorate of the RCCG. The man of God thereafter proceeded to the commissioning of solar lights, as part of activities that marked the 2014 Kirikiri Maximum Prison’s end-of the-year service.

Pastor Adeboye was similarly welcomed to the church service by Pastor-in-charge of Liberty Church, Tunwashe Kabiru, who appreciated the kindness and philanthropy of Pastor Adeboye over the years to the prison service. He listed some of Pastor Adeboye ‘s kind gestures to include the renovation and equipment of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) building in 2010, payment of the tuition of ten of NOUN students since 2011 as well as the renovation with full equipment of the computer class in 2012, among other laudable acts of philanthropy.

Pastor Kabiru stated further that the sermons and weekly visitations to RCCG parishes by Pastor Adeboye are really causing a dramatic positively turnarounds in the lives of many physically and spiritually. asserting that, like Oliver Twist, “we need more.”

Pastor Kabiru listed a number of other requests to the revered man of God, including a plea for the renovation and re-equipment of vocational workshops, especially in the tailoring, shoe making and carpentry departments.

He explained further: “An inmate who sustained a fracture on his leg while playing football on the field, requires a surgical operation that would cost about N300,000. We need your help Baba to do this.

“Above all, uppermost in the heart of every inmate is freedom. We therefore plead that you solicit on our behalf to the state governors, especially the South-West governors of Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun Ondo, Ekiti, Edo and others, most especially for the condemned convicts.

“Once again, we desire that this event comes up annually, rather than once in two years,” the pastor pleaded.

While listening to testimonies of some inmates, the attentive congregation appeared quite sober in apparent reflection. While some members of the congregation shook their heads in pity, some others kept mouths agape, obviously unable to conceal their utter shock, especially on the fate of some inmates that had spent many years awaiting trial.

A good-looking and well-dressed inmate, identified simply as John, (other names withheld by us) who shared his story while giving his testimony said: “Since I have been in this confinement, no family member has checked on me. I have been abandoned to my fate. I’m glad for meeting good parenthood in our fathers and mothers here.”

Another inmate, David (other names withheld by us) equally narrated his story. He stated: “I have been in detention here since 2010. For four years, I was not tried, until recently. Then I was sentenced to a three-year jail term. I’m glad because my mother and wife have stood by me, and have encouraged me to keep on, as three years is not so much a long duration again, having waited for some four years.”

In his reaction, Pastor E.A. Adeboye said all the requests made by the inmates through the pastor in charge of Liberty Church, had been granted and would be sorted in due course. He spoke on the inmate that had been in detention for four years, and promised that the RCCG legal unit would look into the issue to determine if his detention of four years had not covered for his three-year sentence.

The General Overseer recollected some of his efforts over the years in pleading on behalf of the inmates, especially convicted inmates. He said: “Some time ago when I was here, I was touched by a young man’s story. The young man had slapped his friend during an argument, resulting in the friend’s death. For this reason, he was arrested and detained for 27 years without trial.

“The man had told me then: “Because execution is done at the early hour of the day, I had waited till 4.00am every morning before sleeping to be sure it was not my turn. I waited for 27 years.’ I could not imagine the trauma this man must have passed through awaiting his turn for death for 27 years. Because of this, I spoke with the then President Obasanjo, who directed me to the former governor, Tinubu, who also directed me to the Chief Judge. Eventually, something was done I believe. Same way, we will not relent in interceding and pleading on your behalf before the authorities,” Pastor Adeboye assured.

The RCCG General Overseer charged the inmates to put all their trust in God only, as humans could fail anytime. “The friend you call your friend is not really your friend until you get into real trouble. Only God will not abandon you,” he noted.

He congratulated the inmates whose lives had witnessed redemption. He emphasised that “there are many prisoners out there. I know a number of rich men who cannot sleep in the night, and who cannot share their stories with anyone. Hence, they are imprisoned within.

A popular chorus: You don’t have to worry, you don’t have to fear… was rendered by the RCCG choir during the event, even as some members of the congregation shed tears as the song was being sung.

I hope Ambode will take his campaign to Idi Araba also. The Hausa community in Lagos are waiting for him and they'l massively vote for APC
Idi-araba 'descendants' are almost a done-deal for APC. If in doubt, go to Mile 12 Market.

There's difference between paying and owing, look up those words in the dictionary, you'd be amazed how silly you sound.
The only month in contention in Rivers is December 2014. I cant imagine ANY dictionary that will diiferentiate the words "owing" and "has not paid". I know many English words have been 're-labelled' by our HORRORable Phd 'holder' e.g 'stealing' is different from 'corruption'.

So why is he owing salaries if he did not spend half his state's allocation fighting for VP position?

After all the money he wasted he's rewarded with driving mallams around Abuja. He hasn't paid corpers since 2012 even though past Rivers state governors always pay corpers #10,000 extra.
Tinubu played him mugu now Buhari is making mumu of him.
Being campaign manager for Buhari means spending Rivers state budget on a Fulani extremist no-hoper, what a waste.
Tell us, among your unfunding governors, who has/have paid December SALARY as at 23/12/2014. Even your miserable lawd & safiour ;jezus of Otuoke has NOT paid- you can disprove that!

The money in the treasury can only last us 3 months -Okonjo Iweala

Buhari Calls Pastor Adeboye To Seek His Blessing Before Announcing Osinbajo As Running Mate

Presidential candidate of the All progressive Congress (APC), General Muhammad Buhari today called the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye a few minutes after he made his final decision to announce Prof. Yemi Osinbajo as his running mate for the 2015 presidential election, to seek his blessings.

An aide to the retired general said Adeboye gave his blessing over the phone and wished Buhari and Osinbajo a successful election campaign.

Osinbajo is one of Pastor Adeboye’s close confidants at the RCCG, where Osinbajo is a pastor, and also a church compere for major events.

Buhari will be making an official announcement and presentation of Osinbajo as his running mate at the APC headquarters in Abuja at 4:00PM Nigerian time.

This one has mastered ALL. You need to apply reasoning above stupidity. Show us just ONE in your lineage that has been a successful pastor or SAN or Professor. All Nairalanders are waiting or else do not attempt to drop a dot henceforth!

When our people of Ameach and Okorocha stop being blind supporters of Otueke man (who really has not done anything worthwhile), you will realise these two will command great respect. Politics is strategic and discipline warfare and not tribal or religious stupidity
