House I've red about those that determines the percentage of eggs layed by there birds as per the number of birds they have. NO IT IS NOT. A bird lay 2 eggs in 3 days, giving you an average ratio 0.75 per day as minimum. So multiply the number of birds you have by 0.75 then you get an expected MINIMUM production of eggs per day.

If you calculate it that way, how do you account for variation in egg number as they age? Read professional books and you'll find out they use percentage of birds for it.

Very interesting thread. Am happy I joined. I have Achatina achatina breeding stock. These tigers lay more eggs in one batch than A. fulica or A.marginata. it's better priced too.Am in Enugu. I just started but so far, heliculture is interesting. Let's make it work.

How do u know it is achatina achatina you have? How do you differentiate between the various species.

Maybe you have a different view on the agricultural sector, but my view on agriculture is that it should be used not only as a job for personal profit but as means to bring change and progress in the society, I understand that alot of young people are not willing to work today and alot of things don't function as they should in Nigeria.But ask yourself this question; Will it be better for me to persevere in the present conditions and try to use my resources to better my own society or will it be better if I allow my resources to be used to build foreign lands and then in the next 30-50 years my children and grandchildren will be hustling for visa at foreign embassies because these foreign lands are "more developed"

The way u think is not how to build the economy, try it and u'll die a poor farmer and people u think u're helping will even laugh at u. If you say that, what will you say about new testament writers that write chapters upon chapters just to prove that Jesus is the saviour? Mercury thermometer goes for about N200 or less. Measuring scale: I bought mine 2500, they type with pan on top. Feeders: I can't remember. Drinkers: the biggest type is about 450.

I do other businesses, and I can tell you there's no businesses on earth that's devoid of risks. And let me make a clear correction on the misconception about Broiler bird. Broilers are as strong as any other bird if you take proper care of them. Good hygiene and a well ventilation PEN is the main secret of this business.

It's not advisable to seek problem with "area boys" especially if you plan to run a profitable business there. Depending on what the money is for shaa. There are factors that shud guide you and things you should know before taking any drastic action. Firstly, as a manager, you must ne familiar with the term or concept of "Nuisance value", most of this area boys have nuisance value. Settle them and they don't only leave you alone but also look after ur investment for You. Refuse to settle and they would bring the thiefs to ur place or even steal it themselves or overlook when the thief comes. But if you are from the area, at least you shouldn't worry about all that.
