Hello good people. Please pardon me for asking already answered questions. I can't really start reading all those thousand pages. It's my wife's graduation and we are inviting her sister. The sister is not working, so we are funding the stay. How much is needed in the account? We intend using both our accounts as one may not have much funds. Hope that's possible? She's going to be staying in our house, a 3 bedroom house. So, how do we write the IV letter, both of us signing one letter or my wife writes and I write another showing my consent and support? About home ties, is one having a 5 year old enough ties, if it is, what evidence is needed? |
Wow! Tough one. Well, not just me per se. I mean yes , I had same issue, but it's sorted. Have got a lot of other people asking same so I say let me throw it here. Will share the responses here. Thank you guys Chreze: |
Please people, has any of the below happened, and what are the implications? Parents applied for Graduate visa and couldn't do so for the kids, all less than 6years old, because of fund. Particular questions 1. Is there anyway it affects or will affect the parents visa? 2. In what specific ways does it affect the children? 3. What if the family doesn't have long term plan living here. Looking at moving elsewhere in near future. Does it matter or wouldn't it be a waste of scarce money ( let's say that have it) applying for children that won't be needing a brp for anything or right to work? |
Please good people, what's the passport validity for someone onshore here and applying for another visa? I can't find any info on the ukvi website about this. Looking at switching student visa to work visa come November, but the passport is expiring 1st week of December. Paid for renewal on 1st September but only got December 6th as capturing date, not taking about the delivery now. Current visa student visa expires January 2024 |
Somebody help me here please. My redmi 9 can't connect to mobile network, but can connect to WiFi. I have reset the apn , no way. Found the apn enable/disable greyed out although it's set at enable. Is that one normal too?

IMPORTANT INFORMATION High cost of flights have pushed many of us to consider going after our course start date, but while that actually doesn't affect our studies much, it mars our eligibility for the Graduate Visa. This affects those studying one year course. Even as we hope to switch visa, avoiding Graduate visa for it's obvious high cost, it remains a good last resort we have to keep in case. So please, if you re for 1 year and wish to protect your eligibility for the Graduate visa, do endeavour to get to your school on the Start date on your CAS. |
Well, I didn't mean it that way, missed what I wanted to say. I meant to say that the fees conversion you should rely on is on the Oanda rate for the 1st day of the payment month, not the particular day or any other day. If we check well with the image I posted, the 441 he's complaining about, is the conversion at 1st of August. Every payment falling on that month will be that amount until it changes to what the rate is at today 1st of September. The rate today will remain for the rest of the month till another month. It goes down in that order. dduchess90: |
I think those fees on the UKVI ain't to be so exactly relied on. There are certainly some + and - they employ in the conversion rate. Instead of trying to align with the fluctuating rate every day, I think they possibly stick with what the rate is at the beginning of the week or beginning of the month. So, if you want to check the conversion, you may need to set the Oanda date to 1st day of the week or month. See the attached. NOTE too, they use this also for POF. Setting the date to your date of application. It's this rate they use in calculating your POF and not the rate it is at the time they are looking at it Sunshyne007:

Cheaper flight tickets. https://punchng.com/nigerian-travellers-devise-ways-to-buy-cheaper-tickets/ Maybe some people can try this, and please give us feedback afterwards |
No, they don't require that carik: |
You re greatly mistaken dear friend. One can either be self funded (relying on own money, parents or partner's money), Sponsored (being on scholarship or grant) or relying on loan. Don't know how else to explain that. Sponsored is same thing as being on scholarship. OP relying on partner's funds is fully self funded .Maybe @justwise can help explain further dduchess90: |
The first picture shows the particular question. This school guide states you should add the scholarship to the amount paid, that's in this case, 4500 +2000, = 6500. That nevertheless, I don't think you re wrong cos you have rightly followed your CAS, Financial Information (2nd picture). They sha will finally see the further details as captured by the CAS and that's what they will work with. Tracedan120:
|
You are not wrong. That section asked about the course fee, then, amount paid, then the balance. Your course fee is 20350. Balance after deposit and scholarship is 13850. Besides, regardless of what you put there, they have your CAS and will work with what is in it. So, don't worry yourself. Tracedan120: |
Wrong please. Parents /partner still falls under self funding. dduchess90: |
That should be self funding. Very sure about it. Sponsored they meant there only referee to recognised official sponsorship like Commonwealth, Chevening etc

|
I don't think there's anything to be worried about. Marriage Certificate alone is enough Didi14: |
Hey, this your bio on the 15th will not work o unless you have paid 956 pounds or willing to pay it for super priority. Your valid date there is 25th. payne4real: |
Please @duchess90, justwise, et al, urgent advice needed. Paid for visa on Monday for family of 5, got 24th as bio date, Abuja. Searched yesterday night and was able to get tomorrow date for a child dependent. Can't afford walk-in fee for the whole family now. Can manage just one join in. Will see if I can get atleast one date next week, every other members will join then, otherwise all will be that 24th. I suppose it will be most imperative the main applicant join tomorrow, right? Any implication for others doing another day, days/a week apart? The POF is not in main applicant account, but the partner. Any implication for the MA and others if the partner's application wasn't found while considering their application especially as it's already mentioned that they all are applying together? |
Please @duchess90 et al, how do one sort out this study gap period issue. A 3 years period, aside 3 other years before it, was used for MSc here in Nigeria. There's no certificate or transcript yet for the MSc due to ASUU strike, but there's a cover letter and reference from the uni in this regard. School considered all these and issued CAS but have the qualification as BSc and having a further note that the applicant is exempt from Academic Progression rules being a first time UK study visa applicant. Didn't mention MSc though. How will this gap be sorted now? Which of the field; Study evidences or Employment evidence, is it proper to upload the school cover letter and references? Will it bring any confusion or kind of complications? |

Please duchess et al, how do one navigate this below. It's MA filling the form, and the POF is in Partner's account. Both traveling together. It's showing just parents/guardian, and then what evidence to prove. No marriage certificate option

Interesting Updates coming soon These are already rolled out but not fully. In a short while, it will reach us. Evisa: no more passport submission, vignette, BRP. Visa will be a digital one via an online account which can easily be accessed and verified. Biometrics appointment: Fingerprints biometrics can be reused if you have given that before, and you can do facial biometrics with your own smartphone. So, in a short time to come, many of us will have no business with VAC/TLS https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/new-plan-for-immigration-legal-migration-and-border-control-strategy |
Please delete this. If you re not current, try to. Don't jump in from nowhere to draw us far back. Teezee22: |
Just saw a similar shortage from my school receipt. £25. I have gotten CAS though, but with an earlier payments. But why will the bank (firstbank) do that when the funds are there, even in excess? *Sigh* Meogom: |
I had same problem. That seems to need you to upload something. I can't say what for sure. I uploaded an empty file, a phone screenshot. After that, the Submit button became clickable. I submitted and that's it. na dem Sabi what now DavidEkong: |
Please a clarification The person finished Master's in 2017. If this MSc is considered and it appeared in the CAS, is the study gap not supposed to count after that MSc qualification? I'm of the thought they always meant the gap from the last time you studied. Does it actually has to go back to your first degree regardless of further studies after that? duchess90: |
Sorry, are you by this saying that opting for assisted service gets one a closer bio date than self service option? A confirmed case or your assumption? Davidandgo: |
You can't change your course after visa. You can do it now, before CAS or even after CAS. It's not much of a big deal. Just send a mail to the school admissions. You can only be asked to send a new SOP. Within few days, you will have an amended offer letter fashgolden: |
