Did that appear to you as dulling Agu's thread?

He had once worked for them?
PhonesRe: Just not ok by Farriel(m): 4:19pm On Jan 30, 2006
Has your v-75 got a 3gp player? Sure any file can be sent across various mobile phones using the common IrDA connection, but has the receiving device got a software to read the file? Not to mention if it's got sufficient memory to store it.

Contact any of the numerous phone repairers around for the software to flash and unlock phones. They'd obviously be in a better position to give you good answers.
SportsRe: Will Nigeria Win The 2006 Nations Cup by Farriel(m): 9:16pm On Jan 25, 2006
You should see them as eventual winners becuase you're Nigerian, most naturally. Cameroon have clearly got the most experienced and menacing side which will see them through to a fifth win. Nigeria - hmm, to tell the truth, after their match with Ghana, I really don't see them lifting the cup.
LiteratureRe: Are Kayode Ajala's stories true? by Farriel(m): 8:58pm On Jan 25, 2006
From the little I read of his articles, it's very hard seeing him write a book. The book would just be downright unreadable.
LiteratureRe: Those Who Love Novels by Farriel(m): 8:41pm On Jan 25, 2006
Just to drop a line concerning The Da Vinci Code and Dan Brown.

@Z4M4Eva, it's surprising that you hold such views about Dan Brown's books. I'm sure that people understand that The Da Vinci Code is a novel and therefore a work of fiction, but it leaves me bemused when they attack it so fiercely and make scathing remarks that undermine the quality of such a stunning work of fiction.

It is important to remember that a reader does not have to agree with every word in the novel. Just the same way you watch a highly emotional true life story played out nicely on TV, you accept most parts of the story but surely not everything. All the movie serves to do is provoke your senses and leaves you debating what's fictional from what's factual. I think you should view The Da Vinci Code in such ways and let others judge the book for themselves.

Having said a lot, my favourite authors are endless - since I read a lot, but to mention a few, I think Henri Charriere, Michael Prescott, Dan Brown, Tami Hoag, James Patterson, Jeffrey Deaver, Patricia Cornwell, Michael Crichton, Richard Preston, Scot Turow, John Grisham, Robert Ludlum, Jeffrey Archer, Wilbur Smith, James Hadley Chase, Ed McBain, Ken Follet, Stephen King, H.G. Wells, Mario Puzo, Phillip Kerr, Gerald Seymour, Nelson Demille, etc, and to many more whom I can't remember their names now, are amongst my all time favourite authors.

God bless them all for writing books that have had significant influence on my choices.
PhonesRe: Gprs, Wap Internet Mms Settings For Palm Treo by Farriel(m): 7:18pm On Jan 25, 2006
Ah, but don't you think a visit to the nearest Vmobile's office would provide you with a clearly effective solution to this? Considering having a Treo 650 device and all?
PhonesRe: Pda Phone by Farriel(m): 7:05pm On Jan 25, 2006
Hi Bluerange, I've also got a PDA, a Qtek 1010 but mine comes with a cradle that has a USB end. I rather browse on the PDA when connected to my PC. But I think that for you to conveniently browse with your PC when your device is connected, your device has got to have a Wi-Fi connection or WLAN. Using any of these wireless connectivities, you can connect to an access point and browse with your PDA first, before you think of using it as a modem for your PC.

Forget the MTN, Glo GPRS costs for now. I think you should first check for any of those wireless connections I mentioned first before you think of using any of our service providers GPRS connection.

Let me know if it's got it or not, then I'd tell you what to do. Meanwhile, check either MTN or Glo's site for the exact cost of their respective GPRS connections.
ComputersRe: Hotmail Login by Farriel(m): 11:13am On Jan 24, 2006
If you could detailedly explain the problems you do have with it, maybe you could be rewarded with solutions. I for one have a very vague idea of what you say is wrong.
CrimeRe: To Hack a Cyber-cafe Timer? by Farriel(m): 11:02am On Jan 24, 2006
Yeah, yeah. It really would be nice to know how to, but I beg to disagree that usage of the knowledge is entirely wrong, really.

For one, I think that often times, one might just have one last click to make, or sentence to complete, or sign out of logged in sites, and for some reasons, do not wish to buy extra time to complete that simple a task. Using your knowledge to finish your work and quit doesn't seem wrong to me, not in the least.

But perhaps, an approach like paying for just 10 mins with the ulterior intent of browsing for up to 2 hours could be perceived as wrong, but who can judge correctly, neigh, no one.
ComputersRe: Can I Get A Good Laptop For 50,000 Naira? by Farriel(m): 10:16am On Jan 24, 2006
I've got a friend down here in PH who deals in fairly used laptops (that are relatively 'good') to brand new ones. From the last he sold to some doctor a couple of days ago, it went for exactly 50, 000.

A Dell LX 14"1 inch LCD notebook, with a 20GB of HD, 800MHz (Pentium III, that is) of processor power, 256MB of RAM, and the usual CD ROM and Floppy drives as external devices.

True true, guns are bad. But that doesn't make that lady obese. I would even want to meet her myself.
Jokes EtcRe: USA Green Card by Force or Fire (Pictures!) by Farriel(m): 4:49pm On Jan 21, 2006
Thelastdon, is that lady obeseshocked She's an incredibly beefy, tall lady, perhaps around 6"4 or 6"5. But surely not obese. I'm sure you can notice her shapely figure and her flat stomach.
Jokes EtcRe: USA Green Card by Force or Fire (Pictures!) by Farriel(m): 4:30pm On Jan 21, 2006
Hearsay no doubt. But that's surely not funny to me. Just some big broad and a guy posing. By the way, from the length of the guy's jeans trousers, I reckon he's very short. Albeit that doesn't undermine the size of the lady.
SportsRe: Who Is Your Favourite Football Commentator ? by Farriel(m): 4:18pm On Jan 21, 2006
Mine is Michael Abrahamson, a South African who commented in some games in the last World Cup in Korea/Japan.
SportsRe: Super Eagles In The African Cup Of Nations (Egypt 2006) by Farriel(m): 4:09pm On Jan 21, 2006
Yeah, I think we've got the boys no doubt, but their delivering is the sole source of worry for most Nigerians. Our group is undeniably a difficult one and a lot has got to be put in if we must progress to the next stages of the competition, before worrying about teams like Cameroon and Ivory Coast. Or even Tunisia and Egypt.

I can only hope we deal Ghana and Senegal severe blows, particularly Senegal and then move on with an equally grim determination to win the tournament, having failed to qualify for the World Cup.

ComputersRe: The 10 Biggest Microsoft Surprises Of 2005 by Farriel(m): 2:24pm On Jan 21, 2006
I've never really given a lot about Microsoft. Just been getting some idle bits of information about the release date of Vista, all other news about them clearly fail to make a difference.

But all the same thanks for putting this up. At least people who care for them would find these useful.
LiteratureRe: James Hadley Chase Novels: Share Your Experience by Farriel(m): 9:20am On Jan 16, 2006
Talking about Holmes, he was one helluva detective, really. Probably the best we've seen in books. He and Watson made an excellent pair.

Looking forward to more quizes, Nicetohave.
Music/RadioRe: "Ewo, If You Help Me See Ego, Make You Tell Am I Don Go" by Farriel(op): 9:14am On Jan 16, 2006
I'm yet to find a person who hates that song.

Layi, on which radio does he do his DJ stint, and on which TV station does he present a programme?
WebmastersRe: FTP In Explorer by Farriel(m): 9:11am On Jan 16, 2006
Yeah, we all know FTP in IE is crappy, but to the folks who have got lousy connections and can't download any of the FTP clients, using the aforementioned method would come in handy, or don't you think?

Poverty least? What would then be paramount? A sudden interest in the events?
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Do Certifications Really Improve Your Chances of Getting a Job? by Farriel(m): 6:06pm On Jan 14, 2006

Music/RadioRe: "Ewo, If You Help Me See Ego, Make You Tell Am I Don Go" by Farriel(op): 6:03pm On Jan 14, 2006
Thanks Layi. I only got to know his name during my stay in Lagos when his song was shown on SilverbirdTV.

And yes, I think it's a promotional single, cos he seems not to have any other songs. But Oga Layi, you say you get the song?
Music/RadioRe: Dido: Life for Rent by Farriel(m): 5:55pm On Jan 14, 2006
Dido's my favourite female singer of all time. Life for Rent is her most successful album, and naturally, the one I love the most.
LiteratureRe: Are Kayode Ajala's stories true? by Farriel(m): 5:48pm On Jan 14, 2006
I've read some stories of his, solely due to a female friend giving me Hints magazines to while the time away with, while I wait for her. It's logical to understand that he being a writer, he's bound to inject some bits of fiction to spice up his column. If he's not feeding you entire fictions, that is.

That been said, if you believe all of his stories, Deji, you'd believe anything.
LiteratureRe: James Hadley Chase Novels: Share Your Experience by Farriel(m): 5:40pm On Jan 14, 2006
There should be. Like most other popular authors whose books are being digitized.

Sadly Nicetohave, I do not know anywhere you could get them (for free undecided). I've been searching myself, but no luck so far. Once I find, I'd inform you.
LiteratureRe: James Hadley Chase Novels: Share Your Experience by Farriel(m): 5:28pm On Jan 14, 2006
Hmm, how about Tiger By The Tail? Or, Well Now My Pretty, or This Way For A Shroud, or Knock Knock, Who's There? Not to mention Want To Stay Alive. Not to mention my all time favourite, Tell It To The Birds.

It's really difficult picking the best out of all, or rather, flatly impossible. There are so many brilliant thrillers of his, that only after you've submitted your reply, have long logged out of Nairaland, have long shutdown your system, do the titles of yet many more start coming to you.

By the way, who's got any ebooks of his?
