U be MUMU ?? Dont you know a SCAM when you see one![]() Tell them to give the details to their townsmen!!! |
CHAIIIIIII!!!!!!! THIS ONE PASS ME TO TALK.....WALKS AWAY!! |
buJu-234:just go to ur bankers and tell them that you want to purchase Tbills...you can also ask any discount house.. |
dkings101: Who is the new owner and whats the name of the share abbrv on NSE? So nothing happen to my AP share. Am I still entitled to the small div dey share??AP is still owned by the former owners ..dat is femi Otedola...all the did was just a rebranding and name change to FORTE OIL PLC. It is still traded on the NSE...If you look atthe price lsit you will see FO....dat is Forte Oil and it traded for 10.60 yesterday..am not sure any dividend has been declared lately but if they should declare any soonest you are fully entitled! |
There are a lot of jokers in this thread.....Before you venture into a business, the onus is on you to do your research..even to go as far as being an aprrentice, then before starting off..(Just ask those Igbo traders how many year they have to learn how to trade even in simple items like car headlamps) I will only advice most of us to go back and do their reseach....study the market, the various coys and take this as a busineess....that way they will not throw away their money cos one silly broker said a stock is good to buy .... On a personla note I read Biology in my BSc.. today ma sure I can analyse stocks far better than most people that claim to have CFA or ICAN... all i did was to go out and read a lot of books on stocks investing... Moreover the market NSE included is information driven just like any market (just as the Aboki man dealing on dollars) and you need to keep ur self informed all the time.. You just dont buy a stock and go to sleep!! The NSE is a gold mine.. no wonder the Foreign portfolio managers keep coming to play here and make the money whislt all the idiots in naija just keep shouting that NSE is corrupt and remain almost senile...If you think you might lkike to play in the market go to www.stockmarketnigeria.com and hear learnt fellows discussing the NSE You can send me an email on feelamong@gmail.com and we could discuss further on new stocks, new info and new strategies to make money on the NSE |
Really enjoying the comments here... Many of us are so quick to say that the NSE is corrupt.. I will like to know which industry these people work or do business and let me know if those places are not corrupt... There is no easy way of making money and I have learnt that over the years,,....NSE included; yes once a while an easy period comes and people make loads of bucks doing so little.....but people who know are aware that this period will never last for long and sold off early enough... For Now I still play in the NSE cos i do a lot of research.. read a lot of news report and researches, speak to people in the industry where i invest and want to invest and most times I make some money... Only last month Okomu Oil plc declared a dividend of N4 just after declaring N1 interim and the stock went from N20 to N32....many people made their kill there....very soon many of us will say its corrupt brokers that made them impossible to get their wives pregnant.. |
cashmentor: are you sure you're not an analyst? You seem some how good with the market.... I think the best way to survive the NSE is to aviod greed....you just made that clear!Nope..am not an analyst....just a hustling wine dealer who managed to have worked in the bank in the past! Greed avoidance is always very important but then..like Buffet says; be greedy when others are not.....the deal ios to buy low and sell high...however most people find it difficult to sell off stocks when it is doing well! thats where the discipline come in. |
Its always very easy to say....plug the loopholes..and all the bla bla bla.....see its just not easy when you have to take care of your family and the other siblings which in our society is your resposibility.... The only mistake i think that has been made is investing in people witout due diligence....I will say the next thing is to get better involved in that your wife business....spend more time ith her there and get to see how you can make better decisions together..at least whenever you get to invest here you can be part of the decision making..alternatively..look for a good business that your wife will be involved in which you should be prepared to spend massive time and energy on...from there am sure you will breake even and grow until you leave the bank to face your business squarely.. |
cashmentor: nice one! Buh, what happened to Oceanic Bank recently (now Eco Bank) has made me fall sick of the NSE: Over N496k now worth only N13k, Imagine! That, in the Fishery or Info Biz, by now would have given me over 500% return! Nowadays, i like to put my money where i can see 'em!The most important thing is to learn from your past mistakes and learn how to play the market better. At times we also need to cut our losses early enough and move.....Am not a particularly long termer in the market so I alway tell my self that at 10% loss ..its time to sell off and move on...at times it works, at times it does not but if i check my losses to gains..am in the black... I take it as business and as such look for new info which i believ will affect the sttockls am carrying at any time.. |
Ezemarcel: My brodas NSE is a market where smart ones trade...never come 2 dat market with long term investment in mind...i bought UBA shares at 1.99 and sold at 2.98 in 2weeks i made 72k..is dat not a gud turn up?..my dear NSE market is still profitable..Good move bro!! I think there is still alot of money to be made in the NSE..the thing is how well one buys a good stock....As the saying goes..Goods well bought are already half sold!!!! I think we can use this thread to alert ourselves to fresh good oppurtunities out there in the market... As for me am banking on dangote Sugar and OANDO now.....hopefully they will make money for me as soon as their results come out... Am also hearing that FBN result will be poor due to some provisioning....hopefully this will push down the price of the stock to about N6-7 and hopefully we shall all pounce on it again for some fast gains.. |
http://af.reuters.com/article/nigeriaNews/idAFL6E8F5AT820120406?sp=true NIGERIA Yields on Nigerian Treasury bills are expected to drop further at an auction next week due to resilient demand from local and offshore investors. "More investors are showing interest in treasury bills and this... will impact on yields at the end of the day," one dealer said. Nigeria's central bank said it would auction 183.64 billion naira ($1.17 billion) in Treasury bills at an auction next Wednesday. Yields on the instruments were mixed at the last auction, with yields on the 91-day paper falling, while returns on 182-day bills rose. Dealers said the bond market remained subdued as bond holders waited for the release of the second quarter auction calendar. "The market needs a stimulus to boost activity and many people believe that the bond auction calendar for the second quarter will tell us the direction for the market," another dealer said. cashmentor: Sharp guys u said? That was what i thought some years back, only to dryout my a/c.... Bought that same FBN at N33, Oceanic at N16, Access at N14! How much did u said u bought just now, you don't want to know how much went down the drain, do you? The NSE as you claim, might be for the smart dudes, but, just don't be caught unnoticed!thats the word....unnoticed...have you watched the movie 'Wall street'? well, traders there dont sleep...so why should i sleep...moreover i give myself a stop loss of 10%..immediately a stock i have losses 10% i sell off and cut my losses......this has not failed me over the years....ad once i get 20% on any stock..i start to sell.....the problem with most of us is that we attach a lot of sentiments and emotions to stock purchases....personally i dont do long term...... I have a few legacy i inherited from my dad....these shares i dont sell and they have never dissappointed me in the last 10 yrs....Nestle, NB, Guiness, CAP Plc and FBN.. |
cashmentor: Knew a couple of Folks who collected large sums of loans to invest in the NSE, some commited suicide, others sold their biz, homes and anything saleable to pay back those large sums! Me, Haaa, grace kept me going: burnt my fingers and my greedy tongue badly (no loans though), but, i regret ever Buying stock/shares! Worst off, other world markets are growing, the NSE has just refused to wake up! Is there any hope it's ever gonna pick again? Feel for those young lads i advice into buying stocks back then; to me, the NSE is a no go area, not after banks merged and shareholders stocks became invalid, others recapitalized and send u pea nuts as share! NSE is dead, not with Boko Haram on Rampage! I want my money back; *where's this broker* you must give me back my money O*.....that was a student shouting at my stock broker yesterday! Sad isn't it?guy..cool down the market is still making money for some sharp players...Recently i bought Access bank at 4.99 kobo and sold when it got to 7.02 recently...I also bought FBN at 7.97k and sold at 12.01 only last two weeks...The other day I bought A.G Leventis at 1.32 and its still rising.. the trick is to look out well and do ur research....try to be following this web site; www.stockmarketnigeria.com. A lot of sharp guy post good info and analysis here.. |
Mohr: Can a bid round be oversubscribed as in the case of primary market in Stocks, thereby resulting to unsuccessful bid?Well, from what my bankers told me.....yes its possible for a bid round to be oversubscribed.....but the way the Tbills market work is like this.....as the demand for the Tbills increase the yields will be dropping so those who must have bidded above a certain threshold will not be given..... Maybe those that play here will explain further.., |
Thank you bro...just keep it coming!!! |
PLS CAN THE MODERATORS JUST MOVE THIS TO THE JOKES SECTION [ |
webstradamus: How can one tap into this? Please send me (webstradamus AT gmail DOT com) your contact email/phone so I can reach you for more personal advice. Thanks!i have replied ur mail... |
http://af.reuters.com/article/nigeriaNews/idAFL6E8F4AA920120404 LAGOS, April 4 (Reuters) - Nigeria's central bank said on Wednesday it would auction 183.64 billion naira ($1.17 billion) in treasury bills at its regular monthly debt auction next week. The central bank said it would sell 30.15 billion naira in 91-day paper and 73.49 billion naira in 182-day bills and 80 billion in 364-day bills next Wednesday. Nigeria, Africa's second biggest economy after South Africa, issues treasury bills regularly to reduce money supply, curb inflation and help lenders manage their liquidity. Yields on the papers were mixed at the last auction with yields on the 91-day paper falling, while returns on 182-day bills rose. |
otokx: is there no tax component to this?Treasury Bills are TAX FREE and UPFRONT DISCOUNTED! |
filani: @ feelamonglets say the discount rate is 14% for 1 year. you will pay N6,880,000. if you hold to maturity = (8,000,000- 6,880,000)/6,880,000 * 100 = 16.27% In essence if you hold for one year ur effective yield is N1,301,600 In simple terms if you only hold for 91 days you will have N1,301,600/4 = N325,400 |
I dont know what part of Naija you intend to settle...But you can try our wine distribution.... However as you are thinking why not invest the money in Treasury Bills to yield good interest on the money whilsty waiting.. |
mine was a result of my secondary sch days when i always wanted to feel among the happening guys......so they kept calling me feelamong and the name stuck! |
has the goods arrived? |
Idiots in EFCC and Naija Judiciary!!! They are so quick to arrest and jail an undergraduate for attempting to obtain money.... What about those that have already stolen our monies and put us into this situation we find ourselves ![]() |
Rubbish..... its not as if they were even sacked.. They were retired with all their benefits intact.. This govt is just not serious abt the power thing....even my 2 yr old son now knows that there is something called "mega watts" cos the minister is always talking abt megawatts reaching 4,000 and the next day dropping to 1,000. Bunch of ninnys!!!! |
olaheavy: Even though they're offspring of the human-eating Biafrans, I honestly feel for those innocent younsters. Having said that, it's a well-known fact that the Igbo cannibals don't like us and they don't respect us for being their benefactors, and since certain Igbo nearnderthals on this forum have blamed and continued to blame us Yoruba for this horrendous act, I wonder what the Eastern shitheads are still doing in Yorubaland! Each day, nothing less than 100 full loads of luxurious buses leave the accursed Eastern caves for Lagos and other Yoruba cities and towns. Why can't the Yinminrins all sit their stinking arses back in their erosion-damaged hell holes? When it's glaring that the human flesh eaters from the East can't survive without us, but they continue to insult us daily on NL. To the Biafran Igbos and other Eastern nincompoops Lagos is a mini England! They see everything as a competition with the Yoruba: they call us names like "ofeimannu," cowards, and lazy. I asked a Igbo what "ofeimannu" means and he said "those that cook with too much oil and tomatoes." Okay, every blessed day in Lagos and several other Yoruba cities and towns we see the cannibalistic Igbos queeing up at our "bukas" and "mama puts." They can be seen munching voraciously on our amala or eba with the "oily" soup and stew! What an ignobly and pathetic hypocritical group of cannibals! We were cowards really when we thrashed your arses at Biafra, right? Maybe you didn't know that the Yoruba actually won the war - now you know. Since it seems convenient for the Igbo cannibals to respect the Hausa/Fulani who are fond of killing them everywhere in the North maybe we the Yoruba should commence the killings of the Igbos anywhere they show up in Yorubaland? I'm sure they'll respect us then!EXCELLENT SHOW OF GROSS UNDILUTED STUPIDITY! |
donguutti: @bandit c: why should the bus coy be blamed,EKENE Tranport used to be one of the most trusted but these daysThat coy.. Ekene Dili Chukwu is dead and about to be buried.....If we were in a civilised society where health and safety is taken very impt .. how can a coy justify being on the Crazy and criminal infested Naija roads by 11.40pm? The coy failed and should be made to bear the brunt for this action.... They should start talking with the parents on how to compensate the girls for all the trauma they have been thru... How can one say it depends on when the bus had a fault? as at 7Pm they should not be on the road... the school authorities also failed as there should have been communication with the bus until the students get to lagos.. |
Magnanimity: Read well before commenting. And don't wish ur self one of their parents cos u duno tomorrow :|Read what well ![]() Oga try and read well before posting!! |
Logic Mind: becos it aint illegal man. chill for bus company.Just listen to your self!!!! with the high rate of insecurity on Naija road...as a father would you sanction ur own daughter being on the road by 11.40PM ![]() You are asking for the state for sometin that you can use common sence to achieve.... As I said earlier I will reach out to the parents and a class action would be instituted against the stupid transport coy.....We would sue them for all they own....How can they justify being on the road by 11.40pm with 42 school girls...Why did they not stop at a nearby Station in Benin and find a hotel to lodge the girls ofor the nite..just becos they selfishly want to make more profits... |
Clearly.. this transport coy has a lot of questions to answer…If i were the parents of these girls. I would make sure that I sue this coy to their last kobo and make sure they never transport anyboy to HELL again!! How can you put a bus of 42 school girls on the Road by 11.40PM…If not for their selfish aim… |
chemashie: What is the minimum amount i can use to buy the T-Bills and where can i buy it? I need more knowledge on this please. Thank you.N100k is the minimum amount but most banks actualy demand for more than this....You can walk into any bank or discount house to buy the treasury bills but as a condition most of them demand that you have a current account (for the KYC issue) |
