@myoga Feelamong,

please my account has not been debited after applying for July 15,2015 FGN Bond primarily market auction I applied via my bank(Stanbic) . From DMO website, the settlement day for the FGN bond was yesterday 21/07/15.
I thought my account will be debited yesterday, till now my account has not been debited... I contacted my bank customer care and they said I should give them more time...
Sucessful bid from DMO website was 15.2%....I even filled 14.2% in my form... Meaning my bid should be successful.

Please how many days does it take before a bidder's account is debited after the auction date of FG bond?

Thanks for your quick response.
Transactions settle in T + 2 days...

anything outside this, ask your bankers for explanation

still waiting 4 ur resppnse. If I do not go to the bank cos am very busy now, will dis money be paid back into my account or will they rollover automatically, cos I did not indicate rollover. Nor termination. When I filled their form?
Did you ask what rate are they willing to roll over for you? usually at the expiration, you money drops back into ur account unless you indicate that it should be rollover..

yesterday i assisted one of my friends to purchase 85days Tbills at 10.5% in the secondary market..

i doubt if the 91days will do more than that in the auction today...

still don't understand why many retail investors shy away from this!

the rates are far higher what you get in Tbills and it enables one to plan well!

Currently have a 7 years bond and I use the bi annual coupons for sch fees settlements

Thanks Oga Feelamong.....

please what do you advise me to bid for July 2015 FGN bond...14% or15% or brokers bidding rate...(trying to open account with INVESTMENT-ONE COMPANY)..

Last (June2015) marginal rate was 14.42% and May2015 was 13.82%...all for 5 years tenor.

Also why opening CSCS account when the coupons/interests would be paid into my bank account?

Thanks for your kind assistance and advice.
Go for your broker rate..thats what i do now! its very competitive at the bond markets these days as stock markets keeps crashing...

yea, your coupon will be paid into ur bank account but you need a clearing house where the Bonds are held until you sell or matured! the DMO insist on a custodian opening a CSCS account for you. unlike in Corporate bonds where you will just use your normal CSCS account you use for buying shares..

Please I want to invest in FGN BONDS ...DO I NEED CSCS ACCOUNT OR A STOKE BROKER FIRM OR SHOULD I DO IT DIRECTLY WITH MY GTBANK.
Also, FGN BOND AND TREASURY BILL, WHICH ONE IS BETTER. I have been investing in TB for long now, just want to diversify my funds.

Nice GURUS IN THE HOUSE PLEASE ADVISE ME. THANKS.
To invest in FGN bonds you need to approach a custodian to open a cscs account for you. Alternatively just ask ur bankers to talk to their own custodian

Alternatively use ur brokers..i actually use my brokers.

As for which is better? It all depends.

I invest in bonds which has a higher rate but also higher holding period to use the coupons for settling school fees

I use tbills to settle my madam every 90 days..

I'd thought and have always believed Tbills auctions are being carried out fortnightly. However, judging from your last posted result for the 17th June, 2015 primary market auction , and this very result that I've quoted, which I presumed was for an auction that took place yesterday; thus, negating the popular notion - primary market auction usually occur every 2 weeks. Or are there some conditions that brought about this? Or has the Tbills primary market auction schedule terms been changed recently?

Besides, considering the recent state of Nigerian politics and the political instability currently experienced by the ruling government, party in power and the Nigerian people, do you think it's a good time to invest into the FG Tbills? Maybe I'm just scared of locking my funds, and fearful just in case any unforeseen (God forbid) political occurrence befall the country, which makes investors capital unsafe and insecure.

What's your take on this, sir?
If you follow the Tbills Time table someone posted here some weeks back you will know that there is an auction this week.

Tbills will forever remain the safest instruments just like the FGN bonds if you want to do longer tenor investments..

As for this one, I missed my bid but am now going to buy from the secondary market... cant afford to see my money wasting in my bank current account especially in this time that even tomatoes price don skyrocket cheesy
