ukay2:Transactions settle in T + 2 days... anything outside this, ask your bankers for explanation |
Sambo should just keep wipping up sentiments and prepare to face his trials for our missing $3B defence budgets |
silvoice:Did you ask what rate are they willing to roll over for you? usually at the expiration, you money drops back into ur account unless you indicate that it should be rollover.. yesterday i assisted one of my friends to purchase 85days Tbills at 10.5% in the secondary market.. i doubt if the 91days will do more than that in the auction today... |
Bamz:yes there is an auction today.. you should have dropped ur bid yesterday if you wanted to purchase T bills today |
And the baba na Arsenal fan! Oya Arsenal fans come o!! You guys must rescue your own!! ![]() |
born in 1974? at what age did he play for julius berger since he played for them in 1989... |
Born2berich:the last year result did have that of the Transcorp hotels in the group result abi? no?? |
9free:nna..na wa for you o!! before I can even say how na to the new babe..you don toast finish! chai!! anyway make I dey wait for queen Victoria...hopefully she will show before the bulls! |
just2endowed:the last Auction Stop rates were posted... 91 days - 10% 182 days - 12.625% |
sammiejr:Yes you can invest with as little as 10,000. just speak to your broker or bankers |
still don't understand why many retail investors shy away from this! the rates are far higher what you get in Tbills and it enables one to plan well! Currently have a 7 years bond and I use the bi annual coupons for sch fees settlements |
billtommy:Actually posted about the Bond Indexed Investment Note a few days ago..it has 13.75% guaranteed interest rate payable quarterly.. after 90 days i will brief the house how it went... |
Royal155:I bidded 10.20% but lost out for 90days.. decided to dive into the FSL Bond Index fund at 13.75% I will inform the house how it went after 90 days.. ![]() |
ukay2:Go for your broker rate..thats what i do now! its very competitive at the bond markets these days as stock markets keeps crashing... yea, your coupon will be paid into ur bank account but you need a clearing house where the Bonds are held until you sell or matured! the DMO insist on a custodian opening a CSCS account for you. unlike in Corporate bonds where you will just use your normal CSCS account you use for buying shares.. |
ukay2:To invest in FGN bonds you need to approach a custodian to open a cscs account for you. Alternatively just ask ur bankers to talk to their own custodian Alternatively use ur brokers..i actually use my brokers. As for which is better? It all depends. I invest in bonds which has a higher rate but also higher holding period to use the coupons for settling school fees I use tbills to settle my madam every 90 days.. |
billtommy:rates may be different for better or worse than the primary auction....but then you dont waste valuable time waiting for the next auction |
so who did Ngoo Babe share this money with naa? ![]() |
kmcutez:why not buy in the secondary market if you really want to lock in ur funds for that long so badly now.. |
myjoy08:serious Rain of Naira!! hoping that some drops will touch the NSE and move my FCMB to 5 ![]() |
Royal155:I havnt tried it yet.. I intend to try it as soon as my soon fixed deposit matures next week.. |
I just got this mail from my brokers whom I always do Treasury Bills from.. Please feel free to ask for further clarifications if so desired. The Investment Note is tied to the purchase and guaranteed returns of FGN and Corporate bonds in the Capital market. It carries the features of a mutual fund but comes with the flexibility of any money market deposits product. Recently got a mail from one of my brokers (Fidelity securities) that they now have a Bond Indexed Investment Note which has a guaranteed return at 13.75% with quarterly interest payments and with asset manager fee of 0.5%. has anyone seen this? |
pythondjango:he said you should allow the markets to fall down more so that we can see better bargains.. ![]() |
Agbalowomeri:has APR come down to our range of 2.70? |
ghettodreamz:If you follow the Tbills Time table someone posted here some weeks back you will know that there is an auction this week. Tbills will forever remain the safest instruments just like the FGN bonds if you want to do longer tenor investments.. As for this one, I missed my bid but am now going to buy from the secondary market... cant afford to see my money wasting in my bank current account especially in this time that even tomatoes price don skyrocket ![]() |
jp130:yesterday i decided to reduce my exposure to the market... decided to start trading on Tbills and Bonds (secondary markets) as we expect the interest rates to hinge up more due to the inflationary pressures from the new FOREX policy.. na only Afriprud and NPMFB i dey eye now...Thank God I got some Afriprud at 2.71 the other day.. once they come down to my set levels i rush them as i want to dey invest for 3 years min like Oga Dr Agba! |
