In the past two days, CBN has been experiencing system downtime with its settlement platforms, precisely RTGS & S4.

Consequently, these hitches have hampered CBN’s operations as deals that are meant to settle via these platforms are all pending. Some of the outcome of this challenge are briefed below:

1. The entire industry cannot determine the opening figures for trading money market instruments & fixed income securities.
2. RTGS operations are also halted as movement of cash amongst Banks is inoperative.
3. Treasury Bills maturities cannot be accessed. This means that Banks are yet to be credited with proceeds upon maturity yesterday.
4. Primary market auction which held two days ago is yet to be processed, and as a result, auction results cannot be advised.

While we crave your forbearance, we implore you to accordingly advise our customers, particularly those whose deals are pending. Also let customers know that this challenge is not peculiar to our Bank but to the entire industry.

However, CBN is working tirelessly to resolve issues and we will inform you of any development.

Since the current government that will soon become an old government favour Oando a little, new coming government will greatly favour Oando, am seen also brighter opportunity at the side of Conoil, Dangote sugar and Cutix. Oando will make alot of people rich and richer this year.

most analyst/speculators are buying into OANDO now as the price of crude oil continues to rally... Crude oil rallied to $63 per barrel today...

hopefully as the price rallies to $70 as predicted by Shell ......we shall see OANDO rebound to N25..

13.1% too low? Wow. One question, is the 13.1 equated with inflation? For comparison, last year was typically around 2.4% in USA(Though China was partly to blame for that)

Nigerian government needs to taper off on the high interest Tbill tho.(Guess that won't be popular here).

Its just a matter of time....the rates will definitely stand to taper down soonest. I will advise those with funds to lock in for 364 days in the next auction. The political climate is now fully calm.....a few concerns by the FI is just the naira devaluation which many believes should trade at N220.

Once that one is cleared by the body language and actions of the next govt which I know will never devalue Naira, then we shall be looking at sub 8% rates once again....
