vacanci:Yea I deal with far less than that amount there... |
Naijainvestor:That quote you see on FMDQ is indicative.. however in the secondary market Tbills trade in blocks of N250M minimum... the trick is in either arm twisting ur bankers or making friends with them to make them purchase these Bills for you in the secondary market at prices close to what you can get with N250M at the moment discount rates are rising so a 12% quote for 178 day deal might not be too attractive! |
ogajoe:Just go to your bankers and tell them that you want to invest in Tbills. diff banks require diff minimum amounts |
FannySwindler:Yea, Thank God for the chinese rate cuts! even the oil benchmarks rebounded! ![]() |
ukay2:coupons are paid semi annually...June and December.. so by december we suppose come do small party for ur side.. ![]() |
ukay2:i have used them for most of my investments in stocks and TBills... the custodian fee has been set by CBN..its 0.1% of the face value of the transaction (based on no of days) i bought Access bank shares today.... its purely a speculative bet! |
unite4real:its not true.. they only charge the usual custodian fee and transaction fee |
ukay2:i use fidelity securities ltd |
wirinet:You be olodo! How much is the budget for crude oil sales again? go and read the budget before commenting... |
quertyquack:hahaha.....we want to make money..how we go dey offer them money again? na negotiation skills bro! ![]() also use good firms that would like to see you succeed |
Alikote:i have always said here that i use an investment banking fiorm for my transactions... i just call them up and tell them i want to buy Tbills anytime i have funds or friends that i help to invest.. i doubt anybank will give you such rates....these guys are mean! but the discount houses have a way round the banks! moreover you can ask the investment house to use any Custodian you so desire.. |
inze:Its not always Lower! it depends on who is buying the bills for you and how well you can bargain.....also on how much you are investing. I have bought 88days Tbills at 11% even when the stop rate for 91 days was going for 10%. just last week I also assisted a friend to buy 194 days Tbills at 13.5 for a friend even when the stop rate is 13% for 182 days ![]() inze:Its not always Lower! it depends on who is buying the bills for you and how well you can bargain.....also on how much you are investing. Nigeriatraining:who be this?? you wan come feelamong for this party too? Oga Bouncer!!!!! Oya show him the way! |
myjoy08:Congrats to all who had the liver to purchase Access at < 4.20 for those not in this boat.....this is the time to get in! am selling my Tbills tomorrow to get more of this... cos the party at year end will be something else |
debbydee:really dont understand what happened in ur account. in Tbills, the govt only takes the discounted amount and leaves you with the balance. For Yesterday auction, the stop rate for 91days was 10% while the stop rate for 182 days was 13%. there was no auction for 364 days yesterday. |
Justcul:don't joke with the cowboys... just keep ur eyes open or eyes wide shut! ![]() |
Justcul:This is becoming hard to resist o!! will throw in my small bid at 4.3 today and see how it goes... na to start to buy 1000 units daily now |
http://businessdayonline.com/2015/08/naira-firms-as-cbn-directs-banks-to-pay-for-dollar-purchase-48hrs-ahead/#.VcR4wRxwaM8 The naira on Thursday firmed further at the Bureau De Change and parallel market segments as the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) intervened by supplying dollar to the BDCs. Meanwhile, the apex bank has directed commercial banks to pay for their dollar purchases 48 hours in advance, after banning them from accepting foreign currency cash deposits to curb dollar demand and stem illicit financial flows. Consequently, naira gained N2 or 0.90 percent each against the US dollar at the BDC segment and parallel market. As a result, the local currency closed at N218/$ compared with N220/$ at the BDC segment of the foreign exchange, while closing at N220/$ against N222/$ at the parallel market. However, naira weakened against the dollar by N0.16k/$ or 0.08 percent to N198.26k/$ on Thursday from N198.42k/$ the previous day at the inter-bank foreign exchange market, according to data obtained from Financial Markets Dealers Quotations (FMDQ). BusinessDay gathered that the CBN supplied two weeks dollar in one week to BDCs, which will bring down the price of dollar and curb speculation. Andrew Elueni, managing director/CEO, Flawless Capital Limited, told BusinessDay that the CBN supplied dollar to some BDC operators on Thursday after supplying other BDCs on Wednesday. The CBN will supply additional $30,000 to BDCs today. Dealers told Reuters that banks would struggle to buy the US currency on behalf of customers, while the ban on dollar cash deposits would stem speculation. The CBN in June curbed access to the inter-bank currency market to preserve its foreign reserves, and this led to the diversion of dollar demand to the black market, weakening the local currency. At the money market, the overnight lending rate on Thursday jumped to 50 percent from 12 percent the previous day, amid low liquidity as some banks scrambled to stock up on the naira to back up their forex demand with the central bank. |
