First work towards total décentralisation of power from Abuja. Economic power of each state must lie solely on each state. We said we are a capitalist economy but we are practicing more of socialist and communist economy. Why should Zamfara state leave the solid minerals in its door step and be waiting for oil in Niger Delta, why should civil servant in Lagos state be expected to be earning same with that in Borno. Nigeria is stagnant because of oil that is the short of it. Our oil production is too small to sustain our massive population. We are not Saudi or UAE, they have small population compared to their oil production that is why it is easier for them to advance with oil economy.
To me this is the only way to boost our economy first before any other thing, Next is reducing the cost of Governance to less than 20% of it's current state. Some state that are not viable to sustain itself should be merged with others, I don't know what we are doing with bicameral Legislature.Quota system will be completely phased out in most area of our national life. I just joined this forum to let this out my chest and seek help (just in case there's any possibility of finding one here). I am going through what I don't like to call (but I have to anyways) the darkest days of my life yet. I am going through severe depression. I am overburdened and overwhelmed by the human I have become

I'm a 14 years old, male, and I am attracted to the same sex. I found out about my attraction to the same sex when I was 6 after I grew very fond of one of my classmates that it went beyond what I knew everyone would call a bromantic relationship. It was confusing for me at that very young age to be experiencing that kind of feeling because I knew it wasn't morally or ethically right. I assumed my feeling an attraction for the same sex was one I would outgrow, so I didn't take it very seriously until I became a teenager and watched it surge.

I find that my attractions to the same sex is getting stronger like a raging storm. I have been to many church programs with hopes that my illness gets cured. Needless to say I always come back disappointed. This has left me feeling forsaken and too filthy to be redeemed

I am nothing but an outlier among my peers. Most of them have hit and are hitting puberty and are always talking about the opposite sex or fantasizing out loud about them while I am constantly feeling like the odd one. I'm constantly being called a Jew at school because I don't know how to woo girls nor am I seen rolling with them.

For the first time since forever, my grades have started suffering. I'm no longer interested in the things I used to be interested in. It seems the older I become, the more depressed I get. My parents think I am being rebellious and wicked failing at school because they know my IQ is at genius range. To them, I don't have any excuse to do poorly at school. But they don't understand the pain I endure being what I am. I cry myself to sleep most nights because I feel like a mistake, a filth, an abomination, a curse in human manifestation.

I am feeling suicidal but I can't leave my parents alone in this world; I am the only child. My mum waited 7 years before she had me due to infertility related issues. I was the miracle baby.
It is sad to see this is how I repay my parents. They have been my greatest supporters. I love them very much but I am losing my mind.

My faith is being shaken. I have asking God questions but I feel all alone, forlorn and abandon and left to carry this burden on my own. I had a normal childhood. I'm from a typical Nigerian home where morals and values of the bible are taught from childhood. I have been a devout Christian but my faith is trembling

And I have never being sexually abused at a young age. I don't attend an all boys school either nor have I ever attended one in the past. I was lucky to have a pretty normal childhood.

I just want to be like everyone else. I want to be like my friends. I want to be normal.

If there is anyone out there within or outside of space and time who's capable of rendering a helping hand or a shoulder to cry on please come to my aid right away.

Don't mind people trying to tell you how to change who you are. You are born a homosexual, it is not learnt. The same way a heterosexual, all of a sudden start feeling attraction to the opposite sex at early stage of life is the same way your own is opposite. Nigeria is full of hypocrites and I don't think you will ever find true happiness in a society like Nigeria. Try to learn to be strong, you will surely overcome, God still loves you the way you. Work towards leaving Nigeria after secondary school or latest after first degree and move to a country where people don't judge you because of your sexual orientation. You are going to pull through

My name is Uche a 100Level supposed medicine and surgery student of a Nigerian University, I used to be very brilliant and that was what instigated me to apply for Medicine and Surgery after acquiring an aggregate score of 270 in both JAMB and POST-UTME Examinations, I was then admitted a years ago into a university.

It will be an injustice on me to be blamed or for me to blame myself, I know the effort I have also made, I have always taken my studies serious, I never missed any lecture, I neither miss assignments nor tests, I sit at the front of the class, I don't keep bad gangs, I have never attended a party, sometimes I do RTDB (Read Till Day Break), what is then my offense? why me?

At the end of my 100 level Second semester my CGP was reading 4.2 without a single carryover, I was very happy because I thought I had scaled through the danger zone.

The unexpected occurred when I logged into the school portal at the end of my Second Semester Examination to check my result, I cleared all the courses with A's and B's but a course was reading Carryover, I nearly fainted when I saw the result, it was a biology course I offered in second semester to me the course was the simplest of all. I did not inform my parents because I din not want to dishearten them.

The school resumed, so I went to my HOD and complained, she took me to the Exam office who searched thoroughly for my script and from what I saw it was obvious I failed, I scored 32% and was asked to change department, my HOD advised that I go to Biological Sciences, my eyes were filled with tears.

How do I tell my parents this, it only mean I have brought shame to them. I have remained in school since then crying from one angle to another I don't know whether to go home to my parents to inform them of the truth or keep telling them lies.

I need your sincere advice.

Boy success in life has little to do with what you studied in school. There are hungry doctors everywhere same time there are highly successful people who studied some of those courses you are looking down on now. Pick one of those courses spend the four years and come out and face the real world. Four to five years down the line after NYSC you will see how right I was

It is now I understand what being strict does, it makes you live a life of pretence, cos when I got into University I wanted to explore everything  I didn’t have the chance of doing at home.

I drank alcohol like crazy, smoked weed, hung out with rich boys, partying, doing drugs but when I go visit my Parents, I still act like that innocent girl they have always known.

My Dad’s strictness led to my Pretence, if he had drawn me close like my mum did, I would have been a better kid.

When parents use strictness to shut down a kids curiosity instead of guiding them, you are making matters worse for that kid. Because eventually that curiosity will lead them into adventures and exploring all those things you refused them to..

This your theory works negatively on few cases, I also came from a family of very strict parentage. Most children of strict parents learn to respect themselves in time because as far as your parents is concerned you don't have second opportunity. African children are more likely to be wayward if coming from lenient parentage than strict parentage. Though many things in life doesn't always follow as we planned
