Solarco guys are really nice people.

Wanted getting another set of 5 panels from them and because they didn't have stock in Lagos he offered free shipping from Abuja to Lagos and also offered to compensate me something for fuel to move them from the park to my house. The panels were already cheaper than Jinko from Fouani.

After some discussions with him he advised I go with the Jinko 625W that they are also great panels rather than trying to talk down on the product so as to buy from them.

I was supposed to do this project in Jabi. But some other projects took me out to PH and all, they grew inpatient and went on to bring in their Team from Lebanon to do the installation.

That's the highest the CC can output for a 12V (60A x 12V), however, your 2x 550W won't produce that under NOTC so you should be getting between 700W to 950W with quality sunlight, proper inclination and installation.

thanks. I was worried because the cc is rated 720w as maximum watts and 2pcs of 550w will give 1100w.

You're all good to go as the VOC of the panel is well within the range of the CC.

Rain is fast approaching and I don't want to survive like last year.

I remember that some recommendations have already been provided for him few pages back, of which I even provided link to Fouani store for him to decide on.

For the SRNE he has been on for a while now, a simple Google search will reveal their office Lagos address and all that yet he keeps repeating the same request all the time without actually responding to the requested informations from others here.

For the first paragraph, check the website of Deye. I'm sure they have a distributor in Lagos. You can go for their 5kva inverter and their 5kwh battery.
For the second paragraph, set up a small 12v system with 1kw hybrid inverter and 12v 100ah Lfp battery or you go for solar generator with 12v 500w/1kw pure sine wave inverter and 12v 100ah Lfp battery.
Most of the solar generators are built with msw inverters and lithium ion. Check the datasheet/specification very well before you strike a deal.
ADVICE: I really understood what you passed through in the past, but that shouldn't make you to be too rigid in your decisions. Let the past go and move on. If most of us here narrate our experience, disappointment, frustration and the losses we've encountered with people in this solar business, you will be surprised. We've learned, we're now stronger and we're still calling people and striking deals them. Lol
There are people that may like to offer professional advice but when they look at the construction of your message, they just ignore it.

Was the BMS connected to the cells when you connected the 9v battery to the terminals of the BMS?

If no, connect it to the cells as it should be.

The introduction of the 9v battery is to wake up the BMS in case it is sleeping.

Thanks for the hint.
I used my 9V multimeter battery to make that connection you suggested. One indicator light flash fast continuously after reaching about 5 seconds I stopped. I connected the BMS to my inverter and it started discharging for few seconds and then get disconnected. It keep doing this continuously. When I connected the mppt solar charge controller it did not deliver charge.
Then I smell like something is burning and then I disconnected it.
I may likely take it to repair workshop now.
If it didn't work, I may have to by a JK BMS.

I don't believe you'll get a battery pack that comes with a dedicated active balancer unless they're integrated into the BMS.

I can't really remember if it's the old JBD or JK BMS that usually behave like this,but you can also try this.

Get a small battery of 8v (like the mic battery) and connect it between the 2 terminals of the BMS (the big wire that connects to the negative of the battery bank and the big negative output wire) for 2 to 5 seconds and see if it wakes the BMS.

Thank you for the response. I have tried several ways (which I read on Will Prowse website) but not successful. Some one also told me to charge up the battery and try. I charged it up to 3.34v but it did not resume. But I read someone who had similar problem had to almost charge the cells to 3.375v and it just come back.

I may have to do that.

The annoying thing is that Jiabiada website is not responding to email.

Sure I'll update on the performance when I get them hopefully by next week (fingers crossed on possible price reduction as $ is going down )

Always a good move to me to get higher capacity panels. The more the power, the better it should be. So, go ahead and the Jinko. Now you can give us first hand experience the performance of the two.

I'm currently using the 570w version of Longi (5 pieces) and wants to add another set (of 5 pieces), but the seller only have the 580w available and it's in Abuja. So he offered them to me @155k/1 down to Lagos but I'm thinking of getting the Jinko 625w from Fuoani but wanted to know if it's a good move and if the Jinko panels actually outperforms the Longi as people claim.

I've used Longi. The 450w version. Performance was superb and on par with Jinko.

Please has anyone used Longi panels?
How can it be compared to jinko panels?

I'm currently working on increasing my panels and torn between Longi 580w and either Jinko 580w or 625w, but wants to know how Jinko panels performs.

It is said to improve the solar panel yield by tracking the individual panels and in case of shading or failure on one to multiple panels, it helps to isolate them from affecting the entire array's production.

Thanks. A lot of things to consider. First, don't know if my landlord will allow up to 20 solar panels on the roof. He will allow 10 for sure but 20 is a lot. Second is also the financial factor. But your proposed design makes a lot of sense to me.

SRNE is good (have not personally used one) based on my research when I wanted to get mine.

It was my 2nd option then behind Growatt. If you're in Lagos try and go to their office and buy it to avoid stories or order directly from them if you're outside Lagos.

Self consumption of inverter over 100W?

On a good day you should be generating over 4kwh from your panels which should be able to run your AC for 5 to 6 hours a day (I run my AC from 11am to 4pm).

For the fridge you can reduce the thermostat to allow for night usage then as for the rest you can use, monitor and adjust your loads based on your battery drainage.

But if you can, get a 10kwh or 7.6kwh battery.

Please for budgetary reasons, I am thinking of getting a 5KW SRNE inverter with 5.12kWh Lithium Phosphate Iron battery and 5.5kWp Solar panels (10 panels x 550w). My home load is a 2HP LG Dual Inverter AC, One 55 inch LG flatscreen, 2 laptops, 1 video game console, 2 standing fans, one fridge, one water dispenser and 12 energy bulbs. Please how can I efficiently manage the load application on the inverter system to prolong its lifespan and when during a 24 hour period can I switch on the AC, what appliances do I need to switch off when using the AC and how many hours in a day can I use the AC? Kindly advise please. Thank you.

I believe one of the problem you're having with your setup is your charging system.

Get an mppt charge controller like powmr and install, then confirm if the battery will still perform that poorly.

Again your inverter should be among the earlier models of Felicity inverters that are not that efficient (their self consumption are over 100w) and from the pictures you shared it looks like a used inverter that was repaired at some point.

The inverter has an inbuilt PWM charge controller rated 50A

I haven't used plycontech batteries before so I can't rate the 2, but the deye is currently performing beautifully.

Can you rate the performance and durability of deye lithium batteries with Plycontech?

This looks more like lithium polymer judging from the attached pictures.

1. Are you charging the battery with external charge controller or from the inverter?

2. Does your inverter/charge controller has the correct charging profile for the battery (that's if my assumption of the battery being a lithium polymer is correct).

Try and confirm if my assumption is true by taking the voltage measurement of each cell and see if you'll get between 3.7 to 4.2v at full charge.

1. I got my deye battery from Xtra power here in Lagos.

2. Yes I make use of AC (1.5HP non inverter AC) with my setup but only between 11am to 4pm.

Looks like the installer that did my job did a terrible job as there is not even surge protections or anything except circuit breaker in between solar panel connection to the inverter.

I am working on expansion of my setup but the Longi panel I'm currently using is annoyingly expensive now (208k for 570w as against 165k I bought them in December).

I earlier went with the Longi over Jinko because of the current as the max current of my inverter is 13A, the Longi 570w have a max current of 13.03A while the Jinko 580w have a max current of 13.38A

Yea the 2nd guy is humble and I love the fact that he resisted the urge to step on the panels while mounting them.

Mid January when I wanted to mount my panels on the roof, I contacted (a so called) engineer to do the Job (I have phobia for height), via phone call without any information on my setup baba concluded that 5 pieces of 570w panels won't work, that it's either I get another panel to make 6 or I use 4 out of the 5 and that I need 10mm with for the installation I just ended the call and reached out to another person.

The guy that later did the Job later begged me to teach him how to set up lithium battery on the inverter as he was unable to do that on the 1st Deye inverter installation he did.

Most of the installer and so called engineers are too lazy to update their knowledge on the same things the practice.

But in all, has this issue been resolved?.
So sorry you fell into the hands of Engineers without Knowledge.

I had gone to correct an installation last year where an installer connected 2units of Felicity LPBF48300 in series, to 2 Units of Growatt which were in parallel originally. The instruction was to replace 8Pcs of Tubular Batteries with 2x LPBF48300. Thank God one of the LPBF48300 popped fuse immediately with a loud explosion.

The guy still went ahead and connected LPBF48300 in parallel later on without investigating the cause of that explosion.
The client later discovered that one of the batteries wasn't discharging and charging. And that was how I was contacted.

Moral: Be careful of Engineers without Knowledge.
