Niger State government has the responsibility to act as effective IN LOCO PARENTIS to these parentless young girls by putting in place an arrangement to make sure they are well taken of by their would-be husbands after marriage. Ministry of Social Welfare should pay them visits from time to time to ensure that no nobody converts them into home slave-wife. Anything less will be pure social injustice. |
chopnaira:If you insist. |
chopnaira:Bigot - a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group (such as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance. https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/bigot The fact is that you are a bloody bigot as Mrs. Muoghalu if you insist she is. No difference. You don't want to change your opinion because it aligns with a tribal narrative you love so much. If this makes sleep well at night, then continue to carry the unnecessary burden. |
Goodvibes007:You sound more like a bigot yourself. I tried to add human angle to the whole incident but your own sense bigotry seems to be a stumbling block. Well... |
opamoses1:I don't think she did. She was alarmed. If you have used your hard-earned money to build a house, you will be sympathetic when another house is being pulled down for documentation or locational reasons after years of existence. The truth is that some of these victims may not be able to muster resources to own their own houses again. And unfortunately, the adhoc approvals and assurances for these buildings were given by the same government officials who should regulate for quick money. |
Due diligence is key in any business transaction. |
Has she lost her freedom because of money donated? What if she is going to Hawaii to create contents to earn more money? Besides, there is a possibility that one Nigerian big boy might have sponsored to join him in Hawaii for a short vacation. |
amSTARboy:I don't support him as I am satisfied so far with Gov. Soludo but he has done a lot for his constituencies especially in areas of security and social empowerment. |
Every investor must consider the long-term safety and sustenance of their investment before choosing a location and committing resources. Studies must cover local politics, culture, crime rate, competition, etc. There is nothing wrong with investing in Lagos but there is always a risk. In Nigeria where ethnicity is exploited, policies are wrapped around a corrupt intention and politicians kill businesses of their opponents, it is advisable and safer to locate one's business in an area one has certain measures of control and influence. This, however, does not still guarantee that your own people cannot exploit politics to kill your business. Two examples: What saved Innosson Motors from GTbank onslaught was the relocation from Oshodi expressway Lagos to Nnewi. But then again ex-Gov Wike demolished business of his opponents who are from Ikwerre as himself to punish them. Bottomline is that there risk in every business move in Nigeria especially if it spins money enough to attract attention. |
Current SUGs in Nigerian Universities are a breeding ground for future looters. God help Nigeria! |
Amaechi's current passive stance is strategic and it is best for him. He can't frontally fight President Tinubu and he can't align with Odili, Secondus, Maeba, Sekibo, Austin Opara, etc who detest him politically. So, joining hands to form a new political party is one option he can explore. But one thing is certain, Wike influence in Rivers State is monstrous at the moment. The only thing is that being the chief accountant during Wike's tenure, Gov Fubara's hands may be tied to expose Wike's acts of looting as he might also be complicit directly or indirectly. |
Gov. Adeleke should have mentioned the extortionist journalists involved to shame them. |
Yes Reno Omokri is just working hard and sweating for crumbs. However, every dance comes to an end when the song stops. It won't be long before the chickens come home to roost. |
N4 million proposal? Well, not bad to dream big. |
longetivity:You must have read about the stunningly beautiful but radically charged Winnie Mandela who was overwhelmed by Nelson Mandela's long absence in prison that she got sexually entangled with some young men. So, on his release from prison, Mandela had to divorce her and married a widow Gracia Machel. |
Some mothers do have them. It is all in her stars. A soothing blossom that comforts strong leaders of their people. |
Gov. Adeleke knows that making NGOZI Adeleke the official first lady will arouse unnecessary politically-driven tribal sentiment. #Fact |
My governor! |
Ok |
EFCC dragging white lion.
|
I used to see ex- Gov. Yahaya Bello as a tough rugged young man not knowing he is a mere WIMP. You know President Tinubu wants to displace in Kogi APC in favour of James Faleke and late Abubakar Audu political camp, why are playing into his hand? You had your time and imposed your man as governor. Now it is your enemy's time. So, be a man. Show up at EFCC with your head held high and account for your tenure and courageously eat whatever breakfast they have prepared for you. |
Northern politicians and traditional rulers are used to some self-serving feudalistic privileges that haven't translated to any kind of development or economic growth for the region. Currently, Tinubu is foot dragging on some of these privileges and the selfish bunch are restless. For example, the forex black market that is being reined in to stabilize Naira is affecting many this category of northerners. At the moment, the are holding up solid minerals exploitation up north but I pray Tinubu musters political will for the sake Nigeria. Unfortunately, giving them these privileges means that some good policies would have to be dumped or watered down. |
Forget this 6 months jail time stuff for first offenders, squeeze more millions from money-spraying offenders into national coffers. I am sure sure those in government will be happy with me for this suggestion because that's more money to loot. ![]() |
He is using your state of helplessness to intimidate you. Be wicked to him too. Report the cases of theft to the police and jail him or better still use the military to chase him out of town. Nonsense! |

Whalis:Ok |
Tranquill:You sounded a bit mentally deranged. |
Whalis:I don't hate Ikwerres and I have no reason to do so. I merely stated my opinion on Nigeria/Biafra civil war related issue and you have stated yours countering it, which is Ok. However, I still stand by my opinion. |
Why is it so difficult to accept that Awolowo wanted to secure economic advantage for his people. It might not have worked as he anticipated due to the survival instinct and innate mercantile capabilities of Igbo people. Yes, from hindsight, it looks heartless but from ethnic competition and rivalry points of view, the policy was logical as a war tool to gain advantage. It is the same with Ikwere people seizing properties of Igbo in Port Harcourt as abandoned property to get even while properties of Igbo in Lagos and Northern Nigeria remained untouched. Today, Ikwere estate fortunes in Port Harcourt remain inferior to those of Igbo. Mean things happen during wars. Crazy things happen in the history of every nation. Even the Pope had to apologize for certain things the Church did in the past. The fact is that events of yesterday are supposed to guide us today dealings as we march into Tomorrow. Forward ever, backward never! |
Air Peace keep jumping hurdles like Tobi Amusan. ![]() The fact is that Nigeria lack official, clear, gazetted and publicised procedures and processes for sundry applications for vital approvals and critical services of government agencies. Applicants are at the mercy of officials as there is no even any ombudsman agency one can report such agencies to for sanction. There is little transparency and procedures are in secret document which only officials of agencies hold and abuse for extortion. Often, the cliche "order from above" is thrown in to make things more mysterious and difficult. It is like a jungle. Just a little order and so much confusion laced with show of power and pursuit of financial gratification. |
