I once spoke about this in one of my previous comments. This PDP/APC nonsense are part of the problems we yorubas have. Yorubas will sabotage the efforts of fellow Yorubas because they don't support the same party. In ondo state for example, there is an OAU lecturer who refines untapped crude bitumen in Agbabu, Irele of Ondo State, to Cold Mix Asphalt but guess what, he's an APC chieftain in Ondo State and Ondo state is controlled by PDP.The same man gave the Ondo state government suggestions on how to manage the bitumen in Ondo state, till date we haven't heard anything
This was the same thing that stalled the Olokola Free Trade Zone in Ogun and Ondo state. It was a project which would have been of immense benefit to the the entire Yoruba nation. It involves the construction of a deep sea port, an Oil refinery, a petrochemical, fertiliser, and ammonia plant. The investors who were to handle the project had to abandon it just because Governor Amosun(ACN) and Governor Mimiko(LP) couldnt reach a consensus

Biyi Bandele

Biyi Bandele (born Biyi Bandele-Thomas; 13 October 1967) is a Nigerian novelist, playwright and filmmaker. Bandele is regarded as one of the most versatile and prolific of the UK-based Nigerian writers, having turned his hand to theatre, journalism, television, film and radio, as well as the fiction with which he made his name. He lives in London, where he moved in 1990.

Bandele was born to Yoruba parents in Kafanchan, Kaduna State, Nigeria in 1967. His father Solomon Bamidele Thomas was a veteran of the Burma Campaign in World War 2, while Nigeria was still part of the British Empire. Bandele spent the first 18 years of his life in the northern part of the country being most at home in the Hausa cultural tradition. Described as a precocious child, Bandele had early ambitions to be a writer and when he was 14 years old won a short-story competition. Later on, he moved to Lagos, then in 1987 studied drama at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. He won the International Student Playscript competition of 1989 with an unpublished play, Rain, before claiming the 1990 British Council Lagos Award for an unpublished collection of poems. When that year, aged 22, he went to London, invited to a theatre festival, he had with him the manuscripts of two novels he had written. Soon after he arrived in the UK he had found a publisher and been given a commission by the Royal Court Theatre

Awards
1989 – International Student Playscript Competition – Rain
1994 – London New Play Festival – Two Horsemen
1995 – Wingate Scholarship Award
1998 – Peggy Ramsay Award
2000 – EMMA (BT Ethnic and Multicultural Media Award) for Best Play – Oroonoko
Biyi Bandele, this man is the director of the movie Half of a Yellow Sun, an adaptation of Chimamanda Adichie's Novel.

Same here, i think true federalism is the way to go, if that is not achievable, then secession. But my concern is leadership, after awolowo, i can't think of any visionary leader, only fashola comes close. reading about awolowo, and what he achieved without money from crude oil, I feel like slapping all our leaders, who have had access to much more money
when i read about Awolowo, i feel like shooting all the useless leaders we have now. Do you know that during his administration, civil servants in the Western region receives the highest minimum wage in the country, higher than what federal workers are given

Awolowo was a gem, people like that don't come on a regular. Its like expecting to see another messi in the next 20 years.Though we might not have an Awolowo but we will surely have someone who can try. Quality leadership will definitely not be an issue.
If Awolowo was around in the 17/18th century Yorubaland, he would have been deified, that man is a god !!! I doubt if there would be any Yoruba leader like him in our life time

In a nutshell you can't give what you ain't got so you can't employ my type. That can only happen in your sick fantasies. cheesy

No surprises at all,I foresee Ogun state toppling Lagos in the next ten years. The only problem i have with Ogun is crime.Oyo state looks promising,Ondo state has the potentials too due to the resources. My only fear is Ekiti and maybe Osun.Osun use to be at the top of my list of the most promising but Aregbe messed up every good thing he did in his first term with the salary issue
How i just hate all these useless pan-yoruba socio-cultural groups. What stops those good for nothing Afenifere from having economic think tanks that would occassionaly draw developmental blueprints for all the governors in the SW ?

What stops our governors from embarking on joint regional projects? What stops Ogun from having a deep seaport and an Oil refinery at Tongeji Island? Why has Lagos not been able to build a 4th mainland bridge? Why is Ekiti still the way it is? Why cant Lagos-Ibadan express way be a ten lane super higwway with a fast speed railway ? Why? Why ?

Obasanjo ruled Nigeria for Eight years and to a little extent he payed his dues to his people. Today, his state, Ogun, has the highest number of Universities in Nigeria. Have you ever heard of Obasanjo Farm? Thats the largest mechanized farm in Southern Nigeria and it is situated right there in Ogun.

It would have been possible if Namdi Azikiwe hadnt rejected the overtures Chief Obafemi Awolowo made to him. Azikiwe bullsht'ied the idea of an alliance that Chief Obafemi Awolowo made, he went to form a coalition government with Ahmadu Bello's NPC in the first republic.

The ibos hatred for the yorubas has been since the creation of Nigeria. Despite the graciousness the yorubas have shown the ibos, the ibos still hate them. Nowhere in Nigeria have the ibos enjoyed political, economic and social benefit than in yorubaland, yet the ibos still hate them.
