Crime › ‘We Know Where Criminals Are’ – DPO Blasts FG by Fidelarinze9(op): 11:55am On Sep 24, 2021*. Modified: 1:42pm On Sep 24, 2021 |
A Divisional Police Officer, could not hide his anger at the way operatives of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) are treated by the Federal Government.
The DPO said the police know where the criminals are and are capable of tackling the security challenges in the country but accused the government of being “deliberately unfair” to the force.
The police officer was reacting to questions about the operational challenges of the force in Abuja and couldn’t hold back.
“We have to change the mindset that the Nigerian Police is not trying. We are making sacrifices but the Nigerian Government is not fair to us.
“The big men have refused to do the needful to the police.
“All these issues of internal security you see in this country today, the Nigerian government should be blamed. I have no apology on that,” he said.
The division operates with only one patrol vehicle from a sparsely furnished office apartment offering little comfort. Officers were seen bringing in suspects to the station on commercial motorcycles.
“If the police are given all the necessary logistics and welfare, we have the capacity, courage, strength, and expertise to withstand any security challenge.
“The police know where the criminals are. Nigerian policemen go abroad for international duties and excel. So, why would they not perform here if they have the support of the government?” he asked. |

Crime › Police Demand N180,000 To Track Yahoo Boy Who Stole N1.3m From Victim’s Account by Fidelarinze9(op): 2:52am On Sep 20, 2021 |
Previous thread https://www.nairaland.com/6752956/how-abuja-yahoo-boy-slept#upOperatives at the Kubwa Police Division in Abuja have demanded N180,000 to help a female victim recover N1.3 million stolen from her account by a suspected internet fraudster.
THE WHISTLER had earlier reported Angel’s ordeal at the hands of one Frank, a suspected fraudster who illegally withdrew N1.3 million from the victim’s bank account using a SIM card linked to the account.
They had met physically at Soul Lounge nightclub in Kubwa after exchanging contacts through a ‘hookup’ mobile application in August.
It was meant to be a one-night encounter, but the duo ended up keeping each other’s company for eight days at the BChezz Hotel in Kubwa, Abuja.
She narrated how Frank used a mobile point of sale (POS) operator near the hotel to wipe her entire savings from her account.
The victim planned on using the money to rent a shop and start a hair and wig business.
Angel told THE WHISTLER that she approached the police division to help track down Frank and recover her money.
The victim, who looked dejected when our correspondent met her at the Kubwa police division, said the police had arrested the POS operator, Michael, but later released him.
“This guy (the POS operator) told me he had no idea about what Frank did, saying that Frank told him that we were planning on getting married, can you imagine?” said the victim.
According to Angel, investigations showed that the POS operator was still communicating with Frank after the incident.
She said Michael was released by the police on bail on September 6, three days after he was arrested.
“My IPO (investigating police officer) said they released him to go print out his bank statement.
“But, how can the police release Michael on bail without telling me? The only available suspect? Because my IPO is Igala and him too? they are doing a tribal thing. I don’t understand how the police are handling this case,” Angel said.
Meanwhile, a senior officer at the division told our correspondent that the POS operator was released because he was not culpable of any offence as he was only doing his business.
“There is no need to keep him when he was only doing his business. So, all she can do is to allow the police to do their work by tracking him (Frank),” the officer said.
In a phone interview on August 10, Angel told THE WHISTLER that the IPO demanded N180,000 to track Frank and had demanded upfront payment of N60,000, while N120,000 would be paid upon the arrest of the suspect.
Besides that, the victim said the IPO also pressured her to allow him visit her at home.
Asked if she would pay the N180,000 demanded by the police, she said: “There is nothing to talk about; they already let the immediate suspect go. I honestly can’t trust them.
“Somebody that is a suspect, you released him to go before I came and you are telling me to come back. So, what if at the end of the day they help me to find this guy, will they still release him behind my back if he gives them money?
“The boy (Frank) has told me already that police cannot catch him, and he is right”.
Subsequently, the police told the victim that a Navy personnel was willing to help track Frank’s geolocation for N8,500.
This came after they reduced the original amount to N50,000, but noted that she might only recover N500,000 if they helped to arrest the suspect.
“…maybe they are thinking I still have money and they want to help me to spend it when I don’t have any other money,” she said, adding that she had only given the police N8,000 so far. https://thewhistler.ng/police-demand-n180000-to-track-yahoo-boy-who-stole-n1-3m-from-victims-bank-account/

Crime › How Abuja Yahoo Boy Slept With Me For 8 Days, Stole My N1.3m – Lady by Fidelarinze9(op): 3:13pm On Sep 14, 2021 |
A casual sex affair ended on a sour note and the police have been brought in.
It was meant to be a one-night stand with a man she had met through a ‘hook-up’ app, but Angel (not real name) ended up spending eight days with a guy who gave his name as Frank at a hotel located in Kubwa, a suburb of Abuja.
Angel and Frank had arranged to meet physically at Soul Lounge nightclub, Kubwa, in late August, 2021.
But the meetup which ought to be for short casual sex landed Angel at the Kubwa Divisional Police Station after her ‘hook’, who turned out to be an alleged internet fraudster, wired N1.3 million from her account without her consent.
“We were supposed to stay one night, and he paid me 10k. He said he likes me and he wants me to stay with him for eight days and that he will give me 20k each day,” she told this reporter who bumped into her during a routine visit to the police station.
The reporter had found Angel within the premises of the police division seated alone under a tree and looking gloomy and staring at the ground.
She felt betrayed by her ‘hook’ who came across as a loving young man whom she thought had genuine interest in her.
Angel was cajoled by Frank’s flamboyance. The young man had bragged about fictional achievements, including owning a house in high-brow areas of the federal capital, having over 40 million in his accounts and strings of businesses.
Obviously, Frank’s alluring statements and promises convinced Angel to surrender herself to him.
She told our correspondent that she followed her ‘hook’ to Bchezz Hotel located opposite the Kubwa Central Market in Kubwa, where they did nothing but eat, sleep and kept each other’s company for eight days.
But Angel would later find out that her supposed new found love was taking care of her from money he had stolen from her.
According her, Frank wiped her entire savings of two years after removing a SIM card linked to her bank account from her phone and replaced it with another one.
“We lodged in a hotel opposite Central market (Kubwa), and there is a POS guy in front of the hotel. So, I don’t know what he was discussing with the POS guy the first day we went to the hotel.
“We were supposed to stay one night, and he paid me 10k. He said he likes me and he wants me to stay with him for eight days and that he will give me 20k each day. He even transferred 120k seven days ahead, and I said since he has paid me now maybe it is one of those guys.
“That time the SIM card was still with me, and as soon as I saw the alert, I deleted it. Then my account was over N1.3m. So, later we were going to buy something and anywhere he was going, he will always like me to follow him. I didn’t know that he was doing that so that I don’t suspect him.
“Whenever we get downstairs and to the front of the hotel gate, he will tell me to wait that he wants to see that POS guy; he will be talking, I don’t know what they are talking about. When it is time for the guy to give him the money, he will tell me to come.
“He will even give me some of the money to count and I will now be asking him, ‘what do you want to do with this money?’ He would say he wants to play Bet Naija and the POS guy will be laughing,” she said.
She said Frank sometimes withdrew N100,000 and other times N200,000 or N300,000 and would not explain the reason for the rapid cash withdrawals.
“That was how this guy kept withdrawing from my account, sending it to the POS guy’s personal account and I didn’t know that all the money he was spending was my money. He didn’t even buy me a single gown from that money,” she said holding her tears back.
Tragedy Of A ‘Smart’ Abuja Girl
To further spice her mini-vacation, Frank asked that Angel accompany him to Lokoja for a business trip which she agreed to.
“He was really taking good care of me. He bought me food always and ensured I was okay. The hotel we even stayed In Lokoja was cool too,” she said with a smile recalling a now-sour-moment of pleasure.
At a point, Angel became aware that Frank had her SIM. She explained that her small phone had two MTN SIMs and since Frank had apologized when she noticed a change in her SIMs, she felt it was safe because they were still together.
However, she did not suspect the activities on her account because Frank had discarded the battery of her nearly-damaged mobile phone, saying he would buy her an iPhone when they get to Abuja.
After a night in Lokoja, Angel said Frank became uneasy and at that point she sensed things were not alright and decided that she was leaving. He gave her N3,000 as transportation fare back to Abuja.
“When I asked him for my SIM, he told me to search the hotel we stayed in Abuja, but do you know when I came back and put a battery in that phone and called my line, this boy picked and told me that I have not seen anything?” she narrated.
Reality dawned on Angel when she realized that Frank had not only wiped N1.3m from her account, but later discovered that the N120,000 he earlier transferred into her account was ‘fake alert’.
All Angel eventually ‘gained’ was N13,000, she said.
She has now brought the matter to the police and the Kubwa divisional office is investigating the case. https://thewhistler.ng/how-abuja-yahoo-boy-slept-with-me-for-8-days-stole-my-n1-3m-lady/

Anazp: u spend more time in traffic than Abuja increasing your fuel Cost when you are paid you wont mind the fuel, you burn fuel in Abuja too covering long distances without traffic, which results in very meager fees which makes really bad. |

I don't know if you will see this, but if you do, from first hand experience, I would advice you stick with Lagos if you are already there. Abuja is now littered with bolt drivers that getting rides now are no longer that simple, you cover long distances that burn fuel without corresponding fair, at the end of the day you spend a lot on fuel but make a little. The so called traffic in Lagos is a blessing to the business for it makes your money to come up well. the only advantage I would admit Abuja has over Lagos is the relative stress free environment, apart from that, Lagos is better in all other indices |

Arrewa: If he's guilty of any crime...He should face Justice!!
Why are Africans overating Israel??
Before Christ, Romans conquered Israel, even during his time, Israel was occupied by the Romans.
At little after Jesus the Jews made the Romans angry and they massacred the jews, drove them away from Israel. for about 2000 years from then, the jews were second class citizens every where they go.
The christians persecuted them for what they did to Chris, the Arabs were flogging their yansh any time they deemed fit. Hitler did his own. Till the Europeans decided to have mercy on them and create a state for them.
The so called 6 day war only succeeded because the Arabs just gained independence and didn't had any air force nor good military. The Europeans trained and gave Isreal weapons, especially their air force.
The only time Israel met a strong force Hizbollah backed by Iran they lost.
Israel look strong around its Arab neighbors, beyond that, its a different game entirely. You see, the Persians or Iranians (as they are called today) aint arabs, they walk the talk, if u know what I mean...for far too long now, they've been daring Israel to stop barking and attack them as it has been saying it would for God knows how long now.
But nothing has happened, you know why? because Israel dont have the balls to fight a formidable opponent without bigdaddy USA military support. And the support is not forthcoming either, because a war with the Persians is too risky even for the US.
US can not sacrifice the lives of its citizens to go die for your "mighty" Israel over Iran. So the US snubbed Israel and chose to dialogue with the Iranians over their Nuclear program.
The only hands preventing isreal's defeat are those of America, Britain and the western world. If US remove their support, Israel is dead!!
Anybody that really thinks that God loves some other people more than he likes him or that some other people are more of Gods children than him is a sophisticated Akuya!! What a long trash. |
