The Ministry of Blue Economy will warehouse all maritime departments, agencies and stakeholders. President Tinubu can task the newly created National Economic Council to engage appropriate technocrats and experts to come up with an operational framework for the new ministry.

The agencies that will be supervised by the ministry include the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Federal Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Nigerian Ports Authority and the Nigerian Shippers’ Council.

Others are the Nigerian Institute for Oceanography and Marine Research (NIOMR), and the Maritime Academy of Nigeria in Oron, Akwa Ibom State established for capacity and manpower development.

The strategic goals of the ministry will include but not limited to bringing all maritime and maritime related departments under one roof for effective ocean administration, transparency and accountability; eliminating the duplication of functions and rivalries between agencies and departments, and promoting and maximising ocean sustainability.

The proposed ministry will serve as a dependable source of alternative revenue – away from oil. The minister must therefore be a professional who is knowledgeable about blue economy management and familiar with marine spatial planning which will be at the core of the ministry’s mandate.

However, it must be noted that we cannot operationalise the blue economy concept without the expertise of the Nigerian Navy. Apart from providing hydrographic support in critical baseline data on which all other sectors of the blue economy are to be built, it will also ensure credible maritime security and enforcement of marine spatial planning directives in compliance with Step 8 of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC)/UNESCO 10-step guide to MSP.

I'm sorry you're in this position but I think everyone on the family front can make minor compromise for the greater good. I'm also sure you saw it coming before you applied for the job, FG jobs most times will make you 'A travelling civil servant'. You can either set up base for the family where you currently live (Like most current civil servants) or ship them out everytime you get posted like the civil servants of the old days.

Ogun is somehow with jobs, teaching positions (these are actually in season, finding one near your home before the new term begins might be beneficial as you would save on transportation costs, pay might be less appealing though) and factory jobs abound. Your other option is starting a business or renting a bus/bike for transportation business. I'm also in your situation. Wittywriter, what approach would you recommend for earning off the internet?

Happened to me! But in my case, he's yet to fulfill his promise after 8years. Meanwhile his daughter finished service last year and got into an A-list Agency the following month she finished services .

Guess what again! Last time we meet, he said and i quote "I have not forgotten you o, God will do it for you". I simply smiled and said Amen!

Bros has really gone to lengths to get your hand in marriage, perhaps the financial pressure is coming home on this new family. Try to pacify him as this resentment could go into full blown hatred if not carefully managed. This story is like when you hope for something really good, but then it turns out not so great. Imagine there was this director of human resource in a federal ministry who promised to help his nephew get a job after he finished school. The nephew was excited and sent his CV, thinking he'd get a cool job.

But the waiting was tough – two years went by before anything happened. When the job finally came, it wasn't as awesome as the nephew thought. The pay was really low, not much more than N59,500 monthly. It was like all his big hopes turned into disappointment.

Now, here's the surprising part: the director’s own daughter also finished school around the same time. And he got a job for her in Nigeria Security Printing and Minting. A-class agency abi?

As the nephew began his new job, challenges emerged. His once-thriving tailoring business dwindled, and he had to borrow money for transportation and meals. He left his tailoring job for his federal job, only to find himself idle, spending his days on his phone.

Question : could this ordeal truly be called ‘help’?

I'd refer to 2023Blessed long post on this thread, nephew shouldn't give up, I'm sure he can keep applying till he gets a better agency at least he's already a federal staff it shouldn't be hard like someone who is still on the outside
