Politics › Re: New Salaries For Buhari, Ministers, Govs, Others by Flets:
Nigeria needs restructuring.

What Value does our expensive democrarcy add to our national life?

What remarakable addition has the Senate and the lower house added to our democracy in the past 16 years?

Why do we have to pay over 25% of our nation FG budget to few people who add nothing to our national life?
Why should being a senator or HOR be a permanent jobs?

How do you expect non-technocrats and career politicians to make impacting laws?

Corruption thrives in the current set-up and this democratic structure is wrong

Assuming, we operated a regional system of government where reps would have to be sponsored from their various regions to the centre....... Do you think we would have these number of sentors and HOR members?

Do you think a state that struggles to generate income for local salaries will afford to send 3 senators and 6 HOR members to the centre?

Nigerians want miracles .... but a little thought to the process reveals an endemic faultline that can only be resolved through re-structuring vis-a-vis Fiscal federalism/ Regional Governance

Our democracy cannot thrive this way

Tribalism and ethnocentrism has finished Nigeria. Otherwise.... there is no way Ambo can be governor of lagos state.

The same folks who complain about toll fees on the ajah axis dumped an option of Jimi who promised to take out the toll and voted an Ambo who will be activating the 2nd toll soon........ Reason:tribalism

And the folks haven't stop complaining about the toll fees still

This is a no brainer.
As long as a northerner remains at the helm of affairs and Nigeria remains a mono economy dependent on the crude oil from the south...... No long term investor will look the way of Nigeria.

The uncertainties are too high. We might just be a few Buhari goof away from explosions in the ND which results in a crashed economy

And considering the type of politics that have been played in the last year and the person of Buhari.... An uprising in the south in 4yrs is almost inevitable.

Investors see and weigh all these options before committing their funds. Unfortunately, we have to live with these uncertainties for the next 4yrs.

The problem with jan.ja.wids is that they don't know when to draw the line on propaganda.

Give it up already, campaigns are over and Nigerians are yearning for action .......

If only APC knew the level of damage their negative politicking did to Nigeria ..... We might never recover from it. Lies mixed with propaganda, tribalism and ethnocentrism is the worst recipe for disaster.

Politics › Re: Karma, Omojuwa Recklessness, Buhari Cross by Flets: 11:20am On Jun 06, 2015
A lot of Nigerians underestimate the role of social media on our nationhood.

Lets face reality, Nigeria will never recover from the role of social media in the just concluded elections.
The level of hate, bile and emotions used on the sensibilities of Nigerians have succeded in further tearing us apart and the voting patterns are testament to that.
Unfortunately, there is no way PMB and APC will get the support of all Nigerians because the process that got them in pitched us against them.
I can only see Nigeria drifting further apart from here, the name calling, lakck of constructive criticism, mud slinging, betrayal of the ex-govt aided by media propaganda will hunt this nation for a very long time and I cannot see an end to it.
Take a look at the policitcal commentary in 2011 and 2015, the difference is so clear.... the divisions are well defined and we are all headed for the dead end.
This current PMB government will receive the highest media bashing more than any govt ever ...... and common sense shall not be given chance to prevail because they rode into power in the arms of negative politicking, lies and intense propaganda
Politics › Re: Amaechi Counters Wike’s Looting Claim, Releases Government House Photos by Flets: 10:10am On Jun 06, 2015
If Buhari ever nominates a person like controversial Amaechi into his cabinet, then he might need to explain to Nigerians what his fight against impunity and corruption means

As a matter of fact, Amaechi must end up in jail if we must fight corruption.

Politics › Re: Buhari Should Allow Fashola or Peter Obi To Help Him Run The Government. by Flets:
Please can someone educate me further on this subject?

Now lets leave Propaganda aside..... I need someone to outline 3 key things fashola did that points to ingenuity

Lagos state has the highest IGR in the country yet resposnible for over 40% of total national local debts
For a state that generates over 40 billion naira monthly from IGR and allocations, Where are the capital intensive projects embarked upon by Fashola's admininstration?
Lagos state is already a commercial hub before Fashola became governor.... how did Fashola improve the commercial attractivesness of lagos?...
What policies aimed at attracted investors was put in place by Fashola?
What jobs were created by Fashola's govt (dont mention Lastma) and how did his govt support the middle class or SMEs?
Fashola fixed roads and planted flowers, so did Sullivan Chime of Enugu, Akpabio of Akwaibom, Kwankwaso of Kano, Peter Obi of Anambra.... etc; what makes him stand out?
Increasing tax rates and imposing levies on okada riders, shop owners etc is no ingenuity for raising IGR.... What exactly did he do?
Does deporting Nigerians in Nigeria and dumping them under a bridge in the wee hours of the morning sound like an act of a sound mind?

As a matter of fact, people like Fashola should not be allowed anywhere close to this current govt. Fashola's understanding of governance only support the elites which is averse to the touted Buhari's govt for the masses.
Fixing an existing road and tolling it is the height of insensitivity..... and the first in Nigeria by a state government. Imagine if every state government follows the Fashola template by tolling roads built using tax payer's money or allocation accruing to a state.... we would have about 25 tolls in akwa-ibom, 20 in enugu, 23 in anambra....etc.
Fashola and Amaechi led the governors to demand and share the Soverign wealth fund which led to crash of our economy
Fashola filed a suit against signing the Freedom of Information Bill in Lagos state

Unfortunately, we Nigerians hardly reason beyond our noses... and that is why propaganda sells
Fashola looked like a performer because he took over from a a failed Tinubu under whom Lagos collapsed.
Fashola is an average politician and not even near a technocrat.

DaBullIT:
So i will answer your question with another question but first , We voted change we want change , we need to let go of saying we want to do things the Nigerian way ( which is negligent and corrupt and selfish)

Now my question, Would there be massob , ND youths or even screams of Biafra if Abacha was still head of state ?? or if head of state was someone like Gaddaffi of Libya

Think about it
The answer to that is an absolute YES..... the MASSOBs and ND and Biafra would have been more vocal.
What you dont get is how much Nigeria has evolved in the past few years.
Do you understand the role of social media to the general awareness of the Nigerian people?

You can only hold an unaware and socially ignorant down for a while.... until they are aware. The ND strongly understand their pride of place in Nigeria's economy in today's Nigeria and no level of oppression can stop their agitation. There is no way they feel cheated and you still proceed to generate the all-required revenue in their environment.

There is no peace and progress without Justice. It doesnt matter who the CinC is ..... as long as you cant do without the oil in their environment , you must have to manage it carefully unless you intend to crash your economy.

In summary, Abacha would have done nothing.... times have changed.

Amnesty payment for them is a FRAUD , they coerced the Government into paying , i mean gangsta style blackmailing and extortion scheme , you pay us or we blow up pipelines , that's not an arrangement, the same way tomboy or what's he called used to blackmail the Nigerian Navy and NNPC into paying him 1.5 Billion naira per month , protection money for patrolling the high seas , but still 400,000 barrels of oil disappear daily

I say let them blow up all the pipe lines and we grant them their secession wish , then drop napalm on them
You still dont get it, if you were president what would you do?
Whatever you are seeing today is a culmination of many years of neglect by the successive governments since independence.

Paying amnesty fees and pipeline contracts is not right in a fair society...... but what is right in Nigeria?
That northerners own oil wells in the Niger delta .... is that right?
That the lands and water in the delta is condemned for farming and fishing due to exploration activities ... is that right?
That some group of people believe they are meant to rule while others are condemned to being ruled.... is that right?

There is no peace or fairness without justice.
Nigeria is wrongly structured..... until the ND is allowed to manage her resources, nothing is right and these issues will continue.
The awareness is heightened and dont ever think you can silence or supress them while you peacefully produce and flow crude oil in their environment. Nigeria as a country is wholly dependent on that region as we speak and any slight unrest will bring our economy crashing.

We cannot war in the ND and produce Crude at the same time.... we must pick one.
As a president, I would want to know how you will manage the situation
Politics › Re: Ex-militants, Soldiers Clash Along Warri-port Harcourt Highway by Flets: 7:32am On Jun 05, 2015
Interesting days ahead

Buhari will end the amnesty in Dec
Buhari will bomb them if they agitate
Crude Oil will flow unpertubed even in crisis
Anybody or group who agitates for resource control will be shot at sight
Boko haram shall down tools shortly
Anybody who attempts to mention Biafra or seccession shall meet the full weight of the law
And peace shall reign all over the country with these suppressions

Sometimes I wish to share in the cinderella and fairy tale stories of some dumb heads

If the government still wants to subsidise petrol, it should bring it in itself! There will be sheer bedlam!
Govt does not have the capacity (tank farms and transport facilities) to supply volumes sufficient for national consumption.

In as much as i condemn this bombing i think the only solution is to grant Boko haram amnesty, compensate them and the FG should appologise to the Northern elders.
Nigerians can now see that boko haram are not muslims because ISLAM is a religion of PEACE.
I still believe that majority of the boko haram members are IGBOS because the igbos hate the Northerners and will do everything to sabotage the North.

Now someone must speak up and ask the right questions

Whether this was a deliberate attempt or mere coincidence is yet to be ascertained but ......

Without any plans on ground, why would Buhari announce the relocation of the command center at the inauguration?
On security matters, Is he not aware that the enemy feeds on information?
Why not move the command centre when you are ready rather than announce to give the enemy ample time to react?
Is it not funny that these attacks are almost becoming justified on the fact that bokoharam is reacting to the command centre information?
What happened to the sustained efforts by the ex-government and the victories of the NA in the last few months? Did anyone tell the forces to retreat or are they acting based on some orders not to react?

Now when I consider these questions and remember that same Buhari condemned the attack of Bokoharam by NA and claimed it was an attack on the north ...... it becomes more difficult to wrap my head around current happening.

Dear BeremX and Obiageli,

It is about time that I appreciate you beautiful women for your steadfastness and commitment to seeing a progressive and just Nigeria. Though I may not have met you in person, or spoken to you on the phone, I know for a fact that the debates you engaged in during the political battle for the soul of a nearly destroyed Nigeria, spoke volumes about your resilience, honesty and love for a greater Nigeria.

Social media may look like a small way to contribute, but I can tell you that you both did excellent job in standing out and making Nigeria and the rest of the world believe that indeed we have a right and progressive thinking youth generation that are ready to take Nigeria to the proverbial promise land. It may look like a petit effort, nevertheless it contributed to bringing PMB to power.

I want you both to know that you are a special gift to the social media community, Nigeria and the world. I am grateful to God for creating you and deliberately placing you in a dysfunctional country with dysfunctional leaders. Nevertheless, though you live in such a country in which our current president, PMB is trying to fix, you never sat back to complain or hail corrupt leaders. Rather, you both used the voice provided by this forum and others to drum some sense in our youths. You indeed led in the commonsense revolution from the front.

Thank you Obiageli and Berem for being my anonymous best friends, you are great women, and greater things await you two!

Shalom!

Tribute to backward looking minds who have sold their soul to something evil with arguments against common sense.
Since its tribute time, you should consider writing a tribute to Abacha (the non-corrupt one in whom PMB is well pleased).
