All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant and Chief of Staff to Imo State governor, Uche Nwosu, has described Pesident Muhammadu Buhari’s declaration to run for a second term in 2019 as a good sign and hope for an Igbo presidency.
Nwosu told newsmen, yesterday, that “with the emergence of president Buhari for a second term, Igbo will only have to wait for four years before producing the next president; it will bring Igbo closer to the presidency in 2023. So, there is need for every Igbo man, irrespective of political party affiliations, to support Buhari’s re-election bid.”
Nwosu also said the president has done well to seek-a return to Aso Rock.
“Aside from the Igbo presidency, which Buhari’s second term will secure for Igbo, he has also done very well for the South East.
“Take the second Niger Bridge for instance, work is going on and you can see it, not the fluke that was done by a previous administration.
SirToby: Good evening friends. It all started with malaria two weeks ago and i used Lonart, i was relieved for some period and i started feeling feverish again. I ran a test and it confirmed Malaria is still positive, and the doctor prescribed P alaxin, i used it but i started feeling restless and uncomfortable since saturday, i have not been Sleeping well, even in my short sleep i have nightmares. i started using Piriton two days ago but i have not been feeling alright, my mind is so heavy and my heart beats so fast, i can't just sleep. Speaking on Thursday at the 3rd edition of the Kaduna Investment Summit, Amaechi said the intention of the president towards the railway was to transport poor people.
“Some of you have been asking why we increased the fare between Kaduna and Abuja,” he said during his address at the summit.
“For each locomotive, we spend N56 million, when we were charging you N600, we were getting N16 million so all you rich men, we were dashing you N40 million per month. Actually, very few poor men use those trains. The actual intent of the president is to allow us to move poor people from Kaduna to Abuja. If you go to Rigasa, you will see the big men pack their cars and use the railway and chase away the poor people.
“So since it’s big men that use the railway, we jerked up the prices. You know what it’s called — appropriate pricing. So we price according to your pocket but it does not affect our subsidy, we still subsidise the railway.”
The minister encouraged people to continue making government accountable saying he is the first to know when locomotives are faulty.
“The funny thing about the social media is that anytime there is a problem with the railway, the first person to know is me,” he said.
“I see all sorts of videos and I wonder if they realise that I am the minister for transport not the managing director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation so I can’t run the railways.
“In the past, none of you can send a video to a minister but now you not only send, they direct me on what to do. I urge you to continue in that light and make us accountable to you.”

The Nigerian government has released another list of looters under the previous administration. In a statement made available to PoliticsNGR from the Ministry of Information headed by Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Several PDP chieftains were fingered as looters under the Goodluck Jonathan Administration.
The Statement read;
The Federal Government has said the list of alleged looters which it released earlier was based on verifiable facts, including the amount involved, the date the amount in question was collected and from where it was taken.
Releasing a fresh list of alleged looters, in a statement issued in Lagos on Sunday, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, also said those complaining that the list was too short apparently did not understand that it was strategically released as a teaser.
''At the press conference where the list was released, I did say it was a tip of the iceberg. Apparently, this does not mean anything to people whose style is to comment on issues they barely understand, or just to shoot down anything coming from the government,'' he said, adding that the Federal Government has a large number of alleged looters on its list.
Alhaji Mohammed slammed the PDP for daring to challenge the Federal Government over an issue that the party knows is its weakness: Looting of public treasury.
''What was the PDP expecting when it challenged the FG to name the looters of the public treasury under the party's watch? Did the PDP actually believe that the massive looting under its watch was a joke? Did they think it is April Fool?'' he queried.
The Minister said the PDP's reaction to the looters' list has shown that its recent apology is an election-induced act, contrived to deceive unsuspecting Nigerians to vote for the party in the 2019 general election, even when it has not come clean on its looting spree during its time in office.
''The hysterical and panicky reaction from the PDP has shown that the party is not at all sincere about its choreographed apology. Were it not the case, the party would have followed in the footsteps of one of its leaders, Senator Ibrahim Mantu, who simply owned up to his role in the party's rigging in the past elections and said he had turned a new leaf.
''It is said that a true confession is done in humility with an attitude of repentance. It is clear that the PDP does not know this, hence its resort to hubris instead of humility and genuine penitence,'' he said.
Alhaji Mohammed said the Federal Government will neither be intimidated nor blackmailed into silence, adding that it will also not rest until all those who looted the public treasury have been brought to justice.

Former NSA Sambo Dasuki: Based on EFCC investigations and findings alone (this is beside the ongoing $2.1 billion military equipment scandal), a total of N126 billion, over $1.5 billion and 5.5 million British Pounds was embezzled through his office. A good number of these monies were simply shared to persons and companies without any formal contract awards.
2. Former Petroleum Resources Minister Dieziani Alison-Madukwe: In just one of the cases the EFCC is investigating involving her, about N23 billion is alleged to have been embezzled. She is also involved in the Strategic Alliance Contracts of the NNPC, where the firms of Jide Omokore and Kola Aluko got oil blocks but never paid government taxes and royalty. About $3 billion was involved. The Federal Government is charging Omokore and Aluko and will use all legal instruments local and international to ensure justice.
3. Rtd. Lt.-Gen. Kenneth Minimah: N13.9 billion. N4.8 billion recovered by EFCC in cash and property
4. Lt.-Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika: N4.5 billion. N29m recovered by the EFCC so far.
5. Alex Barde, former Chief of Defence Staff: N8 billion, and EFCC recovered almost N4 billion in cash and property already.
6. Inde Dikko: former CG Customs: N40 billion, and N1.1 billion in cash recovered in cash and choice properties.
7. Air Marshal Adesola Amosun: N21.4 billion. N2.8 billion recovered in cash. 28 properties and 3 vehicles also recovered.
8. Senator Bala Abdulkadir, former FCT Minister: N5 billion. Interim forfeiture order on some property secured.
9. Senator Stella Oduah: N9.8 billion. Interim forfeiture order on some property secured.

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State and national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), on Thursday hit at Nigeria’s major opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying the party would never return to power.
Tinubu, who made the remarks while speaking at the 10th Bola Tinubu Colloquium, an event held to mark his 66th birthday, also urged Nigerians not to accept the apology offered by the PDP earlier this week.
He said the APC would continue to talk about how the party mismanaged the country’s wealth in the last 16 years in order to enlighten Nigerians.
Speaking on the performance of the ruling party so far, Tinubu, who claimed that the party never said fundamental and sustainable reforms would be easy, added that the party, under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari, had judiciously maximised the scarce resources of the country by investing in the electorate who voted the party into power as evidenced in the social investment programmes of the Federal Government.
“When we came in, we came in with a whole lot of hope as APC leaders, several discussions with diplomatic corps, with foreign dignitaries, putting heads together, thinking and believing in ourselves that we can change Nigeria for good.
“We were strongly determined that we will do it. We gave our people the confidence and the hope. We believe in ourselves. We believe in Nigeria and we are still going to do it.
“Life is not interesting without challenges. We didn’t come as a political party showing our logo as honey and sugar.
“Our logo is broom, bunched together, united Nigeria focuses against terrorism, corruption, and promote economic revival of the country, investing in people.
“I can see what the government is doing with so little but they are clever. The fact that they are doing it, the fact that there are beneficiaries, the fact that it is demonstrated in practical terms, is what we need to get our country from the throat of corrupt officers.
