2023 is around the corner and some Nigerians are gearing up to repeat same mistakes.

Those that voted to spite a particular ethnic group are not spared from unemployment, inflation and insecurity.

Everybody knows that Nigeria needs a practical solution and not theory. Someone that understands the economy in both micro and macro levels.

Someone who understands policy making, both fiscal and monetary levels. Someone who is experience in the banking industry at the board level, and also a trader on the street levels.

This means that he is able to calculate the impact of his policies on the man on the street. Peter obi is the only one on the board of banks and a trader on the streets.

If he says he can stimulate the economy and make it productive, he knows what he is talking about

For those who want to repeat the mistakes of the past in 2023, then these are things you have to do.


1) seek dual citizenship, to migrate out of Nigeria.

2) buy the basic foodstuffs that will last 8 years. Buy flour and learn to bake your own bread.

3) convert all your money and property to dollars and save outside Nigeria.

4) pay all your utilities and subscription for 8 years. Pay for DSTV, Electricity, data and credit water etc for 8 years.

5) Get life insurance, learn to teach your little chidren at home. If your children or yourself are in university, switch to learning skills to avoid school fees.

6) if you are working in the corporate world, get a skill and side hustle

7) if you have taken a loan, pay up before 2023

8 ) buy car parts, tires, oil and filters etc that will last 8 years. Get underground fuel tank and fill it for 8 years use.

9) start keeping fit and practice long distance running, incase the need arises.

10) start eating healthy. Grow fruits and vegetables in your house to eat for 8 years. To ensure you have no business with hospital bills and medication for 8 years. If you are not married, have a child before or by 2023, you might not be able to afford wedding.



When you have done all this. Then you can find any criminal billionaire politician and gamble with your next 8 years.

My pleasure. In my time on Nairaland, I see more reviews and posts about living in the West (can be understood) and very few from Asia (depending upon region; I don't consider Arab countries to be Asia, though). So, a growing part of my posts going forward will be to explain how life is in this part of this world based on my knowledge, people's experiences, scientific studies, government reports, general surveys etc.

Yes, it is heavily frowned upon. The wedlock rate in Japan is below 5%, which is abysmally low compared to other developed countries. I don't know about China or Korea, but in Singapore, government policies aimed at housing and certain subsidies deter it. It is frowned upon. In return, the poverty rate is low, there is social cohesion and order in the society. East Asia is a case study where the two parent system works and the society is prosperous. It is my go-to example for "saner climes". Most Nigerian netizens see the West as "saner climes", which I disagree with. There are other wealthier societies which are saner than the West.

In the West, birth rates are low because people have fewer children even though they are in a union. In the East, it is low because marriage rates are low. More children are born out of wedlock in the West compared to the East. So, when accounting for fertility, that distinction is important. In summary, marriage begets children in the East, but not necessarily so in the West. Additionally, the Japanese government counts everyone with Japanese nationality as "Japanese citizens". However, I don't know if this applies to fertility rate analysis. But since the government has certain subsidies and policies aimed at ethnic Japanese, I believe there is a way to account for the fertility rates of ethnic Japanese. After all, the overwhelming majority of the citizens are ethnic Japanese. Also, it makes sense to prefer people who look and think like you to procreate more. Humans are tribal.



There is a slight majority to men, but more balanced than China's.

There are a lot o. A significant proportion are African American men who are stationed as US soldiers in military bases across the country (this applies to both Korea and Japan). Another proportion are African men, especially Nigerians and majorly Igbo men, who came in during the '80s and '90s. Then there is the group from the Caribbean, dem Jamaicans and Haitians. One Senegalese (who speaks better Japanese than myself) who lives in Yokohama told me that Japanese women who like black men prefer African American men to black African men. They only move to black African men when they don't see or cannot get an African American man.

P.S. I wager that there are more black African men than African American men in this country.

Also, he told me that biracial kids don't like black men, especially black Africans, as their fathers (black men) left the family, leaving the upbringing to their mothers. Raising a family anywhere is expensive. As a result, most couldn't get into the university due to high education costs (prepping to take the national exams costs a lot. Juko, like JAMB classes, are revered here and cost a lot). So, they carry that grudge with them. I can understand the POV of those black African men. The women were a means to an end (PR status) and/or they couldn't last long due to cultural reasons and/or the man planned moving back home and the woman no gree (logical enough).

Japanese are more exposed to foreigners than Koreans. So, the perception towards marrying a foreigner isn't as bad or negative as in Korea. Koreans are more nationalistic or preferential than Japanese in that regard. I am surprised you say you see a lot. Maybe because you consume more Korean content. But a black man, regardless of nationality, has higher chances of marrying a Japanese than a Korean or Chinese, all things being equal. As for the Chinese, that has more to do with black African men who went/go there for business and trading. I wager that very few African American men are involved due to the usual US-China historical relationship and the non-existence of US military bases in China. For instance, in Taiwan, it could be 50:50 with a slight majority of African American men fathering women with Taiwanese women because of US military bases there. In all, the white man is the most preferred after the native men across Asia. Yes, as a whole continent - from India to Malaysia to Japan to Thailand to the Philippines - the White man wins emphatically. Whether he is ugly, has less money or is fat, his chances are way way higher. Asian women LOVE white men.



Causal relationships benefit men more than women. The presence of testosterone is a major factor. Women are largely more demisexual than men. Except for the religious folks who are not pretentious or hypocritical as most Nigerians who claim to be religious are, almost every man likes to have a taste of different women at some point in their life. As Chimamanda said, it is the men that are benefitting. As a man, I wish the sexual liberation ideology lives on forever.



Ignorance is the reason. As I said, except in regions with fewer black people. Else, we are at the back of the queue in women's preference of men. And even at that, African American men come first before black African men. That is the power of wealth. Women, regardless of race or nationality, are hypergamous. And heck, everyone wants the best for him/herself.

The same here. Someone to handle the math assignment for the kids, while I do the theoretical explanation. Mathematics is good as the best jobs are math-inclined.



It is expensive. It is sweet o, as a man. But it is expensive. Terribly expensive. Only the financially comfortable should cheat. It makes no sense to be struggling with rents, school fees and other financial necessities yet cheat. I find it distasteful.
