Sorry FK I'm just seeing this. It's the trenches braids of 5k for me ooo, because of my skilled hair stylist from Cotonou (Bukky) even though she claims she's from Badagary.

That something costs a lot of money doesn't necessarily mean it is fine or it is the next best thing after sanitary towels and that has been my experience when it comes to braiding.

I have made my hair at some of these expensive hair salons that charge an arm and a leg and I didn't like the outcome/end result. I always end up going back to my ghetto stylist, who does a fantastic job and charges very affordable rates.

One time she made pick and drop braids for me, I entered Balogun market to shop, a mother and daughter admired the hair so much, they followed me to get her phone number. The mother said she saw me since and was trying to catch up with me, without shouting or losing sight of me in that market crowd. Bukky is that good!

Another time it was a tom-boyish colleague at work (Susan) who saw the bob-marley braids Bukky made for me and asked for her number. It was on a Thursday, Susan braided with Bukky over the weekend, on Monday our male colleagues were clapping at Susan's transformation and beauty.

The colour of Xpression Bukky chose was just right for Susan's complexion, the style and packing was on point too. Bukky is blessed and skilled when it comes to hair styling and I love that she tries to keep things neat and tidy in her salon.
Such a detailed explanation. cheesy

Seven blessings to Bukky!!! kiss kiss kiss

Apparently. Some are even costlier than thar cheesy. It's the place and other jaras you're buying, I guess.

Someone mentioned hearing gossip in classy salons, LMAO. Shey na for streets gossip no boku? The fighting husband and wife; the one that dropped out of school because of pregnancy; NEPA palava. Your ears go too full.
Gossips are everywhere abeg. Both trenches and premium hair salons.

I like their gossips sha.

The woman that did my hair once for me, she was gisting with another lady how her husband use to handle her in bed, or gossip about her neighbour.
I'm never bored.

It depends. I actually do agree that braids from premium places have this extra finesse. It is not just about the braids, but the before and after hair treatment. Most of the trenches braiders do not know anything about protective styling. They just grip your edges and leave you with heavy headache and chop-chop-hair.

They are good, but they need a lot of guidance.

I made my hair for N800. Though I paid her N2000 out of my own benevolence.
Spot on!!! The premium hair salons are very good for pre and post hair treatment. And also the finesse.

Lmao. The trenches hairdressers really dey give person headache especially if your scalp is soft and they pull the hair. undecided

There are also others that are REALLY good and can handle hair well using those treatments. I tell them what to do for my hair.

Hair for 800? Na braids? If na braids, give me your plug.

Trenches literally mean the streets. So trenches braids, those your average, everyday hairdressers. Mummy X, Iya B.

Abi Folake? Is it the same meaning, 'coz yours is different from mine?
Lol na the same meaning oh. cheesy

Well, whenever I opt to do braids, I prefer to have the braider come over to my place. The particular lady that does my braids is extremely neat. I met her through my SIL.

Of course I don't pay her the 'trenches' rates (commonly known as salun ya mtaa in my country), neither do I pay her the ajebutter rates, but I give her enough to motivate her to leave the trenches and come over to my place. smiley
That is nice. Home service is also cool. kiss

Those trenches people have to be the winners

There might be a few exceptions but I want to believe that in general those experienced folks that have been doing it for years in one offsite shack carry the braiding industry.
I thought you'd prefer the posh and classy hair stylists. grin grin

The trenches hairdressers are the best sha. Some people sleep on their abilities though. cheesy

Pocohantas made mention of braids yesterday and somehow I stumbled on this thread on Twitter today.

https://twitter.com/Dlaureate/status/1564326943088074752?t=bj76Arzm27HOH1obNVyKNw&s=19

Are trenches braids of 5k better than 25k braids? Do you like paying 25k for braids just for the comfort/ AC enjoyment etc?

Ladies,I need your answer.

In addition to the above, I think, though, that if you have a VERY pertinent piece of information to drop as a man, you can drop and we'll read? But engaging conversations and bants? Nah. Nope.

I am just one person, sha, and my Lady Judge and senior learned colleagues might disagree and insist on the no-male policy, and I don't have the power to say otherwise. grin grin

TravelRe: Untold Truth About Why Immigrants Are Leaving Canada by folake4u: 10:31am On Aug 29, 2022
apolonius:
To get licensed as a lawyer, you need to apply to the NCA, get assigned some courses and write the exams. The exams are written a few times annually. You can write all in one sitting if you are a genius. If you pass and get your NCA certificate, you then apply to the Law Society of Ontario or the province where you want to practice. The Bar exams-Barrister and Solicitor’s-are written 3 times a year. Not sure if this has increased or decreased because of the pandemic-induced changes.

If you pass the bar exams, you can either apply for Articling or get an exemption as I did. Of course, you will called to the bar. What you do after that is up to you.

Those who love transactional practice areas and with good experience can join banks and corporations as In-house Counsels or join law firms-big, medium and small.

Networking will determine how fast you get good opportunities to practice after your call.

Hope this helps.
Thank you very much for your detailed answer. I appreciate it.

Folake4u

I really hope you get to see this, I was going to send this as a mail bit I'm not exactly sure how that works. This is my first time trying to send an email through Nairaland.

This is something I should have sent in a long time ago, specially for this lady that has entertained me and many other silent readers but it's better late than never.

I just wanted to let you know that I'm strongly rooting for you as you start your exams and so are many others!!

As you start, I pray that you write as inspired by God, you put down correctly as it's in the mind of your lecturer!! You find great favour before every examiner you and your script comes in contact with!!

As you read and revise, you are divinely led by God to where the examiner has put in his heart to set! You enjoy the ministry of angels as God's spirit brings all things to your remembrance!! You won't be tired!! You won't go weary!! God's supply supernatural strength to you throughout this period as you read and as you write, strength all through!!

I want you to go into your exam hall knowing the outcome of this is already a good one so all things has no choice but to conform. And this we know because our Father, God doesn't give small gifts to we his children!!

Now go into that exam hall as the fighter and winner that you are. No matter what they choose to bring your way, you are 10 times better!!!

Go show them the stuff you are made of!!

Much Love!!
We are rooting for you!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH, TEMI.

You have no idea how grateful I am seeing your message. Thank you so much. God bless you for your kind and thoughtful words.

AMEN!!!! kiss kiss kiss
