Well, for me its many nights in the dark, just thinking. During the day there're many distractions to keep my mind off things. At night that's when I'm fully present to deal with my feelings, no escape. I love to just sit in the dark when I have a lot going on. I'm not much of a crier, even though I'm very emotional in nature. I also have this bad habit of opening up old wounds with my thinking. Hence I almost never forgive people who've hurt me.

Aha! It's actually a healthy thing to do, because you don't come carrying all your emotional baggage into the next relationship. You sort of gather the strength to stand up & face the world again. I don't get people who hop from one relationship to the next. When do you get the time to chill & heal?

Exactly! Same here. The longest was 2 years 9 months, but I had a lot going on too at time so relationships were not very high on my list of priorities.

No. All my relationships there's a break in between them. Relationships are too emotionally draining to move from one relationship to the next without a pause. I cannot do it. I need to have a "mourning period" to brood, reflect & get back in touch with myself so to speak. I give my all, so I just can't move on to the next one without a chance to purge old feelings.
