I see.

Still....somehow the process has to be standardized....so that people can drink safely.

I mentioned chemist (chemistry graduate) because that's where they may come in.
You mean we need to get it modernize? That is what the Government needs to do. We need regulations and not unnecessary ban

bushdoc9919:
The basic message about the ban on the local gin has more to do with the fact that it is not made according to standard procedure....which can lead to the production of gin filled with methanol....which can be very damaging to one's health and well being.

I suggest all ogogoro makers get together, work with chemists from Uniport...to get a standardized method of making ogogoro properly and legally.Which can then be submitted to NIS for approval. (They could for example do things like determine the % of alcohol in ''good'' ogogoro.).

And that's the way the cookie crumbles.
Ogogoro does not need help of chemist before it is made. All you need is to get palmwine, boil it and create a method of gathering the condenced vapour coming out of the heat

Ahh you can lie where did they write that Jesus took it
Oga, so much I dont like bringing religion talk to politics, I think I will have to do otherwise here. I habe told folks like you to read not your pastor fantasy but the bible itself. Well you have refused so I will need to help here.

Here is a verse from the bible. You will need to employ your thinking faculty so that you can unserstand the message clearly.

Luke 7:34
New International Version
34. The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, 'Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.'

Note that the bible said that Jesus eat ans drinks around which make people calk him names like drunkard. Drinking in that verse implies that he took liquid substances ranging from wine to water or grape juice but the tag 'drunkard' indicate that Jesus took alcohol. Thoufh this could be a ploy to get closer to sinners like taxcollectors but the fact remains thay he did drinks alcohol and people know him a drunkard. Afterall you are called by what you do. Jesus being a drunkard means he took strong drinka and might go high like ologogoro.

I have done my job. Thanks

Hello. Christians do not drink ogogoro or any other strong drink. If any 'christian' indulges in alcohol, he should check himself.
My dear, in politic talk, you dont follow what your pastor told you but what you reason out from the bible and any laid down law.

The bible support drinking of strong drinks and even taking of alcohol instead of water for early morning fitness.

ON THESE BASES
1. You'll put on weight. Alcohol is stuffed with calories: a pint of 4% beer or cider is about 215 calories; an alcopop is around 200; a single (25ml) of spirits is 60kcal; a large glass of 12% red or white wine (250ml) is 180kcal.
2. It can give you bad skin.
3. It can make you depressed.
4. You're more likely to have unprotected sex and contract a sexually transmitted infection (STI) when you're drunk.
5. You could fall off things or get run over.
6. If you've passed out from drink or drugs, it's easier for someone to rob, attack or sexually assault you.
My dear

Ogogoro has it benefit and darksides just like everyother thing that exist in our world today. Salt is sweet and add lot of value to souo but has a dark side of affecting heart or causing heart problem which you know of. Does this make governemt to put ban on salt? Do you know number of poeple thay have died of heart attack from the intake of salt?

Have you considered the cutural, economy and health significance too?

Ogogoro means thousands of jobs in my area, people use ogogoro to send their children to school, build houses and make names for themselves. I am so sick and tired of government thinking banning a product without zero knowledge of what's on line.

Police raid will only lead to more firearms in the hands of the producer. Somebody should call this government to order asap. Ogogoro is big business, yes billions of Naira monthly. Regulate it and leave people to make their living, as they have done for donkey years.
For the very first time, I will agree with your post

I know of people who are into this business. They make lot of cash from it. I dont know what would be their faith when the things is banned

I have seen first hand what ogogoro can do to a man. It makes a full grown man to be uncordinated, behaving like a child. It raises the new breed of social misfits, deviants, touts, molesters and violent. Whenever you see people taking it, if what is running in your veins is not water then banning it is good.
Do you know the health benefit of ogogoro? Do you know how it added something into the governmwnt pulse and feed lot of people? If you really need to know those in the business, then take a trip down to igbokoda and see for yourself.

You know that too much of things is bad. Those that took ogogoro and behave waywardly took lot of quanities which they canr hold. This does not warrant a ban nigga

They should ban all Alcoholic drinks not just Ogogoro
On what base pls?

Alcohol is medicinal. I hope you dont know some of the drugs you take at home contain Alcohol.

Government can ban ogogoro if only they can ban medicines conpletely too.

Also they should ban palm tree from producing palm wine.
HealthRe: FG Bans The Sale & Consumption Of Local Gin (Ogogoro) by FOLYKAZE(op):
FG better not try to do what it can not finish. This is a locally refined gin from a natural product that has been taken by the locals hundred of years ago. It sever many purposes ranging from medicine to entertainment. The local medicine are made with ogogoro and not from any chemical compositions called alcohol. This from a very long time has done nothing wrong with the body system. The general public should note that Ogogoro does not kill. It is those bad chemical and drug mixture that kills. Original ogogoro does not do any harm to the body. Even the doctors advice people to take it. It is those fake ones that kill and do lot of damages to the body system.

Fake things is not here today. Ogogoro is not the only product out there which fake replica is in the market. Fake drugs like paracetamol and even bread is out there. I was in the market where I found an old mama identifying a fake red oil mere by tasting it. What would have happened to those thay do not know original oil from the fake one? Who keeps the record of those thay have died from taking fake food and drugs? How many thousands should we count of people thay have died by taking expired medicine? Does this make the government raise a ban on medicine and food?

Ogogoro have become a field of investment. It has produces millionaires and help the poor one sustain into the poor economy system. What would happen to there business? Are we going to push them back into zero job oppourtunity economy?

There are lot of houses in Ogun and lagos state where fake seaman and schnapp are been made. Lot of beers are made in the east which are fake and have claimed lot of lives. Government should wage war on these people producing fake food and drugs.

Government should encourage us to refine out own local wine and gin. We need to keep watering investment oppourtunity and not put ban just on anything.

In the case of getting drunk, foreign beer and gin too make people tumble into gutter. There is no justification for banning products like ogogoro and palm wine. It is natural product and do the body system lot of good than those chemical composed drugs which kill us steadily.

Ogogoro must stay
HealthFG Bans The Sale & Consumption Of Local Gin (Ogogoro) by FOLYKAZE(op): 5:50pm On Jun 08, 2015
The Federal Government on Monday banned the consumption of local gin, popularly called Ogogoro in all parts of the country.

The decision was sequel to deaths in Rivers and Ondo states due to food poisoning allegedly caused by the consumption of local gin.

The government however confirmed that the death toll in Rivers State had risen to 38 and 18 in Ode-Irele, Ondo State, following the consumption of local gin.

The Director-General of National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control, Dr. Paul Orhii, in his reaction to the death of 38 persons in Rivers State, told journalists that the recent incidents in the state and that of Ode-Irele, in Ondo State were associated with the consumption of locally made gin.

According to him, considering the risk in the consumption of locally made gin, it has become imperative to “warn the public to desist from the consumption of unregistered locally made spirits (Ogogoro) and other unregistered bitters.”

Orhii also warned that government “would confiscate all illegally brewed alcoholic beverages” across the country.

The NAFDAC boss also recommended “immediate reporting and evacuation to the nearest tertiary health institution as quick intervention can save lives.”‏

He said the NAFDAC team me with the Ondo State Commissioner for Health and Director of Diagnostic Services and an official of the World Health Organisation, who visited Ode-Irele to obtain first hand information.

He added, “A preliminary investigation by the National Centre for Disease Control and WHO, ruled out any infectious diseases and confirmed the possibility of poisoning as the cause and in turn advised NAFDAC to conduct further investigation.

“The symptoms suffered by victims included vomiting, abdominal pain, blurred vision, headache, dizziness and loss of consciousness with subsequent sudden deaths of 18 victims.”

Orhii, who was joined by the Director of NCDC, Prof. Abdulrahman Nasidi, explained that all indications showed that “these symptoms are the hallmark signs of methanol poisoning.”

PoliticsRe: Will APC Ever Dominate South-east Politics? by FOLYKAZE(m): 12:18pm On Jun 08, 2015
I will answer yes but that would take some years to come. That is when the south-eastern folks sees the development APC drawn and put on ground in their states. Tinubu used Fashola to sell APC to people in the south west, the north brought this and they were into the party system. I only wish like of Fayemi could do more than he did in Ekiti. APC would have dominated the state. Lagos is the lamp which attract the attention of peoole. If Buhari could perform better and at least meet 69% of his promises, I believe those in the north will embrace APC.

Lets watch and see as things unfold

Whoa! Thanks bro.

Make I jejely package am back throway under bed do daily contribution for a new device. grin
No dont do that now. There is still some way to which you can solve the problem. This happened to me I am going to explain how I solved the problem.

I got for myself chinese tab from aliexpress. After working for like seven months, the battery drain off between one hour of using. It got to a point after playing game heavily on it and the phone refuse to come up when connected to power outlet. I learnt that the phone was completely spoit and that I will need to dispose the tab. Having in mind that the tab is useless, i had the thought of dismatling it by myself and that I should things what is inside. Afterall, the tab is useless. So I picked up a pocket knife and opened the tab. As I got started, I noticed that there was no bolt knotted around in the tab except clips and eslastic gum. So I thought of opening it gently which I succeeded doing. I found that the battery had swollen and rough but every other thing was intact. So I concluded that the problem is the battery and not the tab itself. I thought of getting battery before proceeding with my engineering. I found some battery online and I ordered it. Sobwhen I got nu delievery, I opened my tab again, gently cut the bad battery out and solde the new one. Bought gum and packaged my tab back. I put it on and wow, my tab worked like before. I immediately plugged it to power oulet and it works even better than expected. This is what I am using now and I seriously enjoy putting in risk of opening the tab.

Before throwing it out, I will advise you to open it. Do it gently so as not to destroy the casing. If the problem is the battery, cut the wire that connect it to the motherboard. I am not too sure you can get it here but there is nothing bad in trying, send the battery to lagos. I dont know particularly but I believe you wilk get one for replacement.

I hope you will get your tab back to live.

Did you even read the article at all? It addresses people who don't believe in any God, not those who believe in a god different from the Islamic God.
1. Atheist disbelieve in the existence of God/gods. Actually they do not tell us what they mean by God but we know that influencial men and natural entities are also god. Disbelieving in thw existence of these entitites is a typical example of insanity.

2. Acknowleging that God does not exist is atheism, disbelieve in God is simply non-believe.

3. Islamic concept of God depict a being that does not exist.
