Difrent: Is it really nepotism that's driving the agitations in the east or GREED. Ibos control our capital market and monetary sector (except for minister of finance) , Ibos control trade and enterpreneurship , manufacturing , import and export, visible in banking , not lagging behind in agriculture, education and health ......no yoruba or HAUSA man is occupying the ministerial slots of eastern states BUT BECAUSE they don't control the military and security forces they have become marginalized. DO IBOS WANT TO CONTROL EVERYTHING ? this country belongs to all of us and there nothing wrong if Ibos don't control (not that ibos are not represented) armed forces when they control the economy...,it greed that makes ibos want to control the economy and also control the security forces. Stop deceiving yourself. You don’t control all the aforementioned. |

I Idiko1: Why would France support Biafra? Was Biafra a Francophone country? Did France colonize Nigeria? Again, France did not support Biafra in any way, shape or form during Nigeria/Biafra war. The silly craps and innuendos were propaganda generated by the western regional government of Nigeria to save face from its stupidity of fighting along side with Jihadists from northern region of Nigeria. Biafran military initial arsenal centered on old British Mark V rifles as well as Stern guns and M1Carbine from USA all of WW2 era supplied to Nigeria. There was no single French manufactured rifle in Biafra during the war. Biafra only source of field assault rifles came from Federal Republic of Nigeria. So, you mean the French Ambassador that gave the revelation on Aljazeera lied? Mr man, France was even a major supporter of Biafra because of oil. |
Politics › Re: Countries That Supported Either Side The Last Time Nigeria Fought A civil war by forgiveness: 8:06pm On May 02, 2021 |
Idiko1: You hit a wrong wave on the side of Biafra. The following countries did not support Biafra: France, China, West Germany, Republic of South Africa, Rhodesia ( was not a country), Czechoslovakia, Spain, Portugal and Israel (was fighting war against Arab countries for its survival) in 1967. Zambia (which was independent country and formerly Northern Rhodesia) recognized Biafra so do Haiti, Ivory Coast, Tanzania and Gabon. Please be mindful that recognition does not equal military support.
West Germany supplied all G3 assault rifles and Mercedes Benz trucks used by Nigerian army. All the Ak-47 used by Nigerian army was variant of Chinese made Ak-47. Austria supplied Nigeria army with Steyr trucks. Government of France, Portugal, Spain and Czechoslovakia did not support Biafra in any form because British lobbied them to stay away from the internal conflict in its former territory. However individual groups and persons from the aforementioned countries helped Biafra and some paid the ultimate prize. The greatest supplier of arms and ammunitions to Biafra was Federal Republic of Nigeria. When I saw France didn't support Biafra then I knew this is a revisionist account. France and all those aforementioned countries secretly or openly supported Biafra. Fact |

But of a truth, Ebuehi is better of defensively and Aina beat him when it comes to been offensive What an irrational statement! Why didn't you call me out when I was defending Onuachu? Is he also my kinsman? Of course, he is, as long as we are all the sons of Adam who also was the son of God. Mr man, you are being clever by half with the other paragraphs after you portrayed me as a tribal person. The fact you did that shows you are the tribal bigot here. I don't think the RB is a position for him maybe he should be drafted to the LB he started off as a LB though.
Can you please explain why in the bolded? Thanks |

Kog45: 7Andrew thank you for saying this out. Please where is goldfish80,michael2,icon79,mujtahida,safarigirl and few others who I cannot remember their monikers.. .these are iconic analyser of the game with no sentiment..respect to thegoodjoe,TheSuperNerd,icon4s,chrisloog,jiday, BascoVanVelli and others for always giving us undiluted comprehensive report on the performance of our players.
I think it is better to come out openly just like my good friend forgiveness who is ready to pour it out irrespective of criticisms ditto Kokmne who believe so much in his Nigerian British born players,..Chriskel is a known great admirer of Senegal and Cote'd Voire team and your humble self who is an apology of Spanish league.
I know TheSuperNerd want to hear my view cos I remember when he said Oga Kog must comment on Aina and these are the reasons I always voice my mind out.How on earth will someone always find fault in a player just cos you love the other player which is acceptable...those accusing forgiveness of +++++are worse than him but they cannot come out for fear of verbal onslaughts from members here.
I don't want to compare Ebuehi and Aina but I need to dig out some facts.
Aina statistics in the last eight matches this season
**Chelsea==6.52 *Arsenal==6.39 Wolves==6.85 Leeds==5.94 **Man city=6.09 **Liverpool =6.71 **Tottenham =7.02 Crystal palace =6.58
**represent strong team and he had above 6.5 against three strong epl team.
Highest rating=7.02 Lowest rating=5.94
Aina as Centre back..played 14 matches=6.53 Aina as Right back.. played 10 matches=6.82 Aina as Left back..played 6 matches=6.66
He has scored two goals with one assist and won epl best goal of the month award which stand a chance for best goal of the season.
But funny enough here some just want to run the player down just for a love for another player...Good criticism is acceptable but not myopic one with total hatred.
I have said it based on last two super eagles matches I will pick Ebuehi over Aina but Ebuehi far better, not acceptable to me.
Though a faceless forum but some built this thread to what it is today based on good analysis of the game that made a lot to peep here to get fact. Please let us always be factual and our criticism should tell us that we are a great watcher of the game just like thegoodjoe.
Special shout out to smartmith and pogbae for continuing with what this thread stand for.I enjoy you guys. Despite all the noise before AFCON, Aina proved he was better and the stats are there for everyone to see. Now, they have started the propaganda against Aina for whatsoever reason. If Aina was in Eredivisie and Ebuehi in EPL, they will use the league to downgrade Aina. Please, don't take them seriously. |

Osimhen is as caf youth player of the year without making any impact in Europe yet
Iheanacho was caf most promising talent twice
I don’t really value that award Martins also won it twice and in addition contributed in winning laurels. I still don’t consider Iheanacho a Striker. He is best at SS. |

Arabiandude: Some of our past players we are praising to high heaven's today, if they were playing in this generation and with the stats they had then mostly for their club sides, there is no way most of them would have been invited to the SE. I just checked Aghahowa stats, even when he was proclaimed hot at shahktar Donesk, he scored only 40+ goals in 7 seasons with them and scored none when he played about 20 games for Wigan. Aghahowa have about 50 goals in his club career playing in Europe that spanned more than 10 years.
Even the stats martins had then, there is no way he would have been a starter in this current SE, he will be invited to this current SE simply because of his talent, not because he is worth it with his goalscoring prowess. The only striker whose stats will still stand tall today is Yakubu.
So going by club stats, Osimhen will start in the SE from 2000 to now. Iheanacho, Simy, Moffi and Onuachu will make all the teams...club stats wise Martins scored 21 goals in all competitions in a season which includes playing consistently in UEFA league yet he will not start? Let me remind you that Martins was CAF young player of the year. Well, you are only joking. |

12large1: Their club performance in this situation is simply irrelevant and I'm judging based on their Super Eagles performance after 10 games as a trajectory for their future performances. I have been watching Super Eagles since the 1990's and after 10 games the best striker thus far is Osimehn with a record of 5 goals and 5 assist in 10. 1/2 record and also his overall contributions. Using that metrics, it's fair to say that osimehn will make any super eagles team from the 1990's upward until today and his career is just getting started. The likes of obagoal, Aghawonder were goal scorers in their early games for SE but their overall contribution wasn't significant as osimehn. Yekini scored 14 goals in 10 matches minus assists. How about that? A one legged Martins scored the winning goal that qualified Nigeria to the 2010 World Cup. Aghawonder as you say was reliable striker to deliver in a match. We saw how he contributed to get to the 2000 AFCON finals. |

OdudwaR: Yes, the one you posted (Katunga war) was the war that happened in 1835 when they were trying to retake Ilorin. Otefan battle happened in 1830: a completely different war that pitched Oyo directly against the Sokoto caliphate.
The Oyo Chiefs sabotaged that war because Oyo was about to cruise to victory. And that war should be a lesson to Yorubas today about saboteurs. If Oyo had won that war, there would’ve been a renaissance with Oyo becoming powerful again. Oyo would most likely have shielded Yorubaland from colonization and transatlantic slavery wouldn’t have affected Yorubas the way it did.
Ilorin is the cursed part of Yorubaland and it’s one of the reasons why I’m not so keen on including Ilorin in anything that has to do with Yoruba. The downfall of the Yoruba race started in Ilorin. Atiba sabotaged that war due to his selfish interest to become the Alaafin. He eventually succeeded and tried to defend Oyo against Sokoto. |

NaijirianKing: To be fair, he is right, Islam came to ancient Oyo from the Ancient Mali empire, however Fulani brought a purer form of the religion as the Islam practiced in ancient Oyo still allowed for indigenous practices that are strictly forbidden under the interpretation followed by the Fulani.
So Fulani brought a pure form of Islam and began spreading the use of Arabic language in many parts of Nigeria. But Islam was already on ground, although it was not a pure form, the purest form of Islam in Nigeria was brought by Fulani, that is why Fulani are the guardians of the faith in Nigeria. What is your definition of pure form of Islam? Why did Fulani attacked Bornu Empire despite been a full Islamic state by Idris Alooma? Is Fulani form of pure form Islam to establishing a Monarchy system over the indigenes under the guise of pure form of Islam? Fulani didn’t bring any pure form of Islam to Nigeria neither did they spread the use of Arabic language Nigeria. During the reign of Idris Alooma the spread of Arabia language and Islam was spread in Nigeria. It seems your sentence is what the Fulani wants to claim but unfortunately, it will never happen. Besides, Fulanis still practice their indigenous religion and they still use juju. Don’t come and deceive people with pure form of Islam. |
