I will like you to think and pause and consider what you have written and the presumptuous supposedly informed deductions you have made.
Now do you know how many Nigerian SE players current and past have Foreign that is non Nigeria. passports ❓ You clearly do not know.
By my own estimation you will find near 70% plus have non Nigerian passports. Therefore according to you most of our SE players are not Nigerian.
And you are a lawyer. |

TheGoodJoe: Why was Osimhen not a good player then?
My comment I made then was about the flashes of brilliance I saw when he came on for Nigeria.
When Osimhen had a run of games at Charleroi, he delivered. Because a coach decided not to play Osimhen, did not mean he was not good. When he got a chance with the Olympics team, he delivered.
No one said Osimhen has not improved but he was a good player not given a run of games. Talk less of not making an English youth team which was a joke. Osimhen is good but didn't deserve to be called to the national team as at the time he was called. That was the subject of discussion and it stills remained valid. |

safarigirl: It's not a rule, wherever did you read that.
If we must discuss Tammy, we can discuss him the same way we discuss Ronaldo and co, as international players. He is not a Super Eagles player, so, we are discussing him in the context of an international player.
Like I said, he is Nigerian in his father's house, on the pitch, he is English. The sooner some people stop forcing us to discuss Tammy as if he is a Super Eagles player, the better for us. His growth, stagnation or whatever will not affect the Nigerian team, will it?
I don't know where forgiveness brought up talk about eligibility and citizenship. My point was clear as day, but can easily be misconstrued by the usual persons.
Even the discussions about Ronaldo and Messi can be tiring in its self. The priority on this thread is Super Eagles players, everyone else is an after-thought, including Tammy. forgiveness: Who are you to consider someone a Nigerian or not? Even Bubu not fit consider if a Nigerian is a Nigerian or not, na you come get liver dey consider who be Naija.
If dem no play for Nigeria no mean say dem no bi Naija. The bolded in my post suggested that I spoke about citizenship but you wanted to debunk it by bringing up citizenship by passport. |

safarigirl: K
We are not here to discuss his citizenship. This thread is for Super Eagles players, as you can probably read, not for Nigerian players. So, when we discuss anybody here, we are discussing those that are eligible to play for Nigeria (and want to play) or already play for Nigeria.
We are not discussing those that go to Nigerian Weddings in London and eat Jollof rice, then wish Nigeria Happy Independence and fly the flag whenever a Burna Boy jam comes on at a club in Essex. This is not the thread for those ones, else, we may also begin to talk about Skepta and John Boyega.
As far as this thread and the rest of the workd is concerned, Tammy is English. Be guided As if you have never discussed outside the SE topic. As you have rightly said in the bolded, we are discussing Tammy Abraham who is still eligible to play for Nigeria. Besides, your claim that one is not a Nigerian until he/she hold a Nigerian passport have been debunked and still stands. Citizenship is not by passport. I made it clear in my post below before you quoted me with the aim/intention to debunk it. forgiveness: Who are you to consider someone a Nigerian or not? safarigirl: Nigeria's laws do not supercede international laws, as regards nationality.
Anybody without a Nigerian passport, will not be regarded as a Nigerian in the international community. You may even be born and bred in Nigeria, but you will be identified with the passport you possess on the international front. When Pius Adesanmi died in the fatal Ethiopian plane crash last year or so, he was listed as Canadian, because he had a Canadian passport. A certain actress, Hannah John-Kamen, has a Nigerian dad and Norwegian mum, but she is British.
At most, Tammy would be of Nigerian-origin, but as long as he has an English passport, he is English. Can you quote any part of the constitution that states you must have international passport before being considered as a Nigerian? Thank you. |

Donald95: Brother, those Illorin, Ekitis and Ijeshas are all Yorubas and Yoruba sub groups fighting against each other . My thread is talking of how Muslim (Fulani ) invaded and took over Illorin, spreading it's tentacles across Yoruba land leading to one Yoruba community rising against another Fulani never invaded Ilorin. You claimed the two captives were released due to fear of reinforcement by the Fulani's army but after showing you prove that they actually reinforced again but were drown in the river, you singing another kuruke song. Now, let me prove to you that the Ilorin that fought and got drown in the river were actually Fulanis. Let me see what you are going to come up with again. Ibadan soldiers chased the Ilorin survivors to Inisa, a town between Ofa and Ikirun. When news reached the people of Ofa that the Ilorins were retreating towards Inisa, they cut the bridge across the Otin River in the rear and left the retreating Fulanis of Ilorin devastated. The Fulanis were pushed into the river by the Ibadans and drowned en masse; thus the war was named Jalumi which literally means “drown in the river“. Hence the 1878 Battle of Ikirun was also called Battle of waterloo.Next time don't come rushing on public without having holistic knowledge of whatsoever information you want to pass across. |

Donald95: lol nice piece Sha. But the point is that Your leader Afonja connived with fulani to defeat Illorin.
And due to fear of reinforced attack by Fulani, Your people had to release their war chiefs.
illorin is gone and gone forever, before you become leader of illorin (Yoruba state), You must have to get permission from Sultan of Sokoto(Hausa) They released them to had given them hope of reinforcement for another attack that led to......... drowning in water, abi? On 1 November 1878 the three besieging forces advanced against Ikirun. The Balogun left the Osi Ilori and his followers with the Ikiruns to fight the Ilorins, Ekitis and Ilas, while he took his soldiers to fight the Ijeshas. The first group was defeated, their leader the Osi Ilori was taken alive, and the rest retreated to Ikirun. When the Balogun heard of the failure, he did not panic, but through clever maneuvers defeated and ruthlessly destroyed the Ijeshas. He then returned, defeated the Ilorins and drove them out of their camp, but not before they had killed the Osi. He then defeated the demoralized Ekitis and Ilas. The victory was complete. The people of Ofa heard that the Ilorins were in retreat, and cut the bridge across the Otin River in their rear. The Ilorins were pushed into the flooded river by the victorious Ibadans, and thousands of men, women and horses drowned. Jalumi means "drown in the river". The battle is so named because of the drowning of the forces of Ilorin. |

All that happened was a place coup. That's all. Maybe you are ignorant about Yoruba's war laws. You don't or must not kill a refugee of war. That was the constitution. Ilorin was never a prominent city in Yoruba history. It was a war camp used to defend the Northern enemy, to make weapons and rare horses. However, you don't need to worry yourself about another man's palaba. |

Donald95: You just posted this one to launder how weak your people are and make you people happy, We understand oh no p.
But our true history says that you people where raped in the battlefield until grown men started crying on their mummy's lap to be cuddled like baby At least, none of your entire generation was brave enough to establish an Empire. While the Oyo were reforming their new home, the Fulani bent on reducing the remaining part of the Yoruba country into tributary. The Fulani and the Jamas laid a close siege on Osogbo and a battle ensued between the invaders and the Osogbo army. A large contingent of army under Balogun Oderinlo was sent from Ibadan to raise the siege. Although the Fulani forces with their overwhelming cavalry almost gained victory, the Ibadan forces realign their strategy by attacking the Ilorin camp in the night. A crushing defeat with great casualty was inflicted on the Ilorin army. The Ibadan forces captured many slaves among whom were four Ilorin war-chiefs, Jimba, the head of Emir slaves, one of the sons of Ali, the commander-in-chief of Ilorin, Lateju and Ajikobi. Of the four, the first two were released to return home while the remaining two were put to death, perhaps because they were treacherous Yoruba who allied with the Fulani. Although victorious, the Oyo refused to consolidate their victory by liberating the ancient capital. Rather, they peacefully retreated into their new homes. Certain reasons could be adduced to this. In the first instance, the ancient Oyo was located in the savannah and was not secured from incessant invasion of the Fulani. Second, the Oyo army retreated perhaps because they dreaded the causality they could suffer in the hands of the Fulani cavalry if they pursued their victory too far. Another reason was probably the protection the Oyo new home which was located in the forest region afforded them. Nevertheless, the battle of Osogbo was decisive in the history of the Yoruba. For one, the Yoruba had established the fact that they could not be easily overrun by the Fulani again |

Omo their weakness is onto another level "Among the Yoruba generals that responded to Alaafin’s invitation were Kurumi of Ijaye, the Aseyin of Iseyin, the Okere of Saki, Sabigana of Igana and Atiba of Ago Oja. This was supported by Eleduwe forces from Bariba. Alarmed by the serious preparation of the Oyo army, Shitta, the Emir of Ilorin sought the military aid from his overlord, the Sultan of Sokoto. A decisive battle was fought at Otefan. Initially, the Oyo and their Bariba ally had inflicted crushing defeat on the Ilorin army. The victory was pursued too far. The victorious Oyo army chased the Ilorin forces, but was soon repulsed by the Ilorin cavalry. Heavy loss was recorded on both sides." Stop peddling half baked stories here. |
