L TheGoodJoe:
You have starred Wiki work. If not, as a confirmed Naija football lover, you can not talk of the resurrection of Marseille without remembering our talented Wilson Oruma.
Followed them when Oruma used to coach a teenage Samir Nasri on the pitch.
From Celestine's time till date, you can not compare Marseille with Chelsea. I watched Ben Arfa and Benzema grow up in Lyon. Before the Benzema vs Man Utd game that blew Benzema's profile.
Your wiki skills is good but as I said before it does not tell the whole story.
There was no time in these years Marseille could beat Chelsea to a transfer target. The Arsenal line up vs Chelsea I showed you will explain the stars in Chelsea then and till today, Chelsea still attracts higher target.
Taiwo try but he is no where near Babayaro. There is a reason why there is a BABA in his name. I intentionally didn't include Oruma but I also followed him wella. There is nothing like wiki skills I followed Marseille matches wella. There was an era Olympics Marseille will bet Chelsea to a transfer market wella. There was an era Olympics Marseille was bigger than Chelsea. There was an era Olympics Marseille was rated highly than Chelsea. All these was before the billionaire bought the club in 2004. During Celestine Babayaro era at Chelsea, Chelsea was a small club in England and in Europe. Nobody knew Chelsea fc. Chelsea became a bigger club after Celestine Babayaro left the the club in 2004. So, there was no stars ever in Olympics Marseille? Celestine Babayaro tried but he never wore a Jersey with a star. You call him Baba but CAF called Taye Taiwo the one time CAF young player of the year. |

That was Ruud Gullit. Former World Best. He had a chance to score in that game and he slipped. Then he pulled out the mud from his studs.

I say the one I watched. LOL. Pardon my phone kwa! Yes! As you rightly said, 'I say the one I watched' but I am telling you the ones you don't know which you need to know Maybe in my forefathers womb.. but history na history. I saw Marseille carried the UEFA Champions League in 1993. |

I wonder if you even knew when Flo played for Chelsea.
I doubt you even watched Crespo and Petit in Chelsea. . I started watching Chelsea as soon as Chelsea bought Celestine Babayaro and continued to be a fan when Mikel Obi came. I can remember I always got angry when I don't see him play. I can remember I saw a coach removed his track suit to come into the field as a player. |

TheGoodJoe: What are you taking 1923, 1994? Keep prolonging argument. Celestine joined Chelsea in 1997. During his stay, Chelsea performed. When Babayaro was in Chelsea, they were a big club.
You can keep burying your head in the sand but you know the truth. Yes, that is what I am talking about. As at 1997 chelsea-football-club was a small club compared to Olympics Marseille the once Champions of Europe. Meaning small club bought Celestine Babayaro at that time. While on the other hand, The once Champions of UEFA Football bought Taye Taiwo in 2005. It was even right after Olympics Marseille reached the finals of UEFA Cup final in 2004 for the second time(1999). As soon as Taye Taiwo got there in 2004 to fill the place of Bixente Lizarazu, he helped them to win Ligue 1: 2009–10, Coupe de la Ligue: 2010, 2011,Trophée des Champions: 2010 and UEFA Intertoto Cup: 2005 with the likes of Frank Ribery, Samir Nasri, Mamadou Niang, Hatem Ben Arfa, Fenando Morientes, Gabriel Heinze(Taiwo's rival), Mathieu Valbuena, Lucho Gonzalez, Andrew Ayew, André-Pierre Christian Gignac etc He was even handed the captain's handband sometimes. He was the man of the match in a cup final match. Does that looks like a small club? Abegi, people don tire with.... |

TheGoodJoe:
Why are you dribbling around a simple question? From 1994 to 2005,how many trophies did they win. Why are you jumping to 2010.
Yo said Marseille was not Chelsea's mate at that time. You are talking of Celestine's time.
Return to success (from Wikipedia)
Marseille returned to the top flight in 1996 with backing from Adidas's owner Robert Louis-Dreyfus. He chose Rolland Courbis as coach, signed Fabrizio Ravanelli, Laurent Blanc, and Andreas Köpke, and Marseille finished 11th for his return. For the 1998–99 season, the team celebrated their centenary and built a team of stars: Robert Pirès, Florian Maurice, and Christophe Dugarry, culminating in a second-place finish in the French championship, behind Bordeaux and an appearance in the UEFA Cup Final in 1999, losing to Parma. Courbis left the team in November 1999 after a poor start to the season.
The closest Marseille got to another trophy was when they reached the UEFA Cup Final in 2004,
You Can see clearly that in Celestine's time, from 1997, Marseille was not a bigger club.
It is only in your world you will take Marseille as a bigger club than Chelsea in that time.
During that period, Chelsea won more and we're competing well in a more competitive League.
Chelsea had big-name players during that time like Petrescu, Zola, Poyet, Vialli, Njitap later joined, George Weah played briefly, Ruud Gullit was player manager.
During the time you are talking about, Taiwo was not even in Marseille. So as earlier pointed out, it is also another diversion.
When Taiwo reigned, Marseille was not a big force in European football. In a bigger club, he would not reign.
So you can keep saying Taiwo is the winner. That exist in your world.
You said no big club came for Taye Taiwo but Celestine Babayaro played for Chelsea fc. But I am saying was already a bigger club than Chelsea as at 1994. How many trophies did chelsea-football-club win btw 1972 - 1993 when Olympics Marseille already raked in 7 ligue 1 trophies, 3 Coupe de France and 1 UEFA Champions League? The question now is, was Olympics Marseille a bigger club than Chelsea as at 1994 ? Answer is YES Olympics Marseille was already a bigger club than Chelsea. Why? They were crowned the Champions of European leagues Football in 1993.. Which time Chelsea star to dey win trophy for League self? Olympics Marseille had started winning trophies as at 1923. Hehehe! I be Chelsea fan ooooo, since the era of Francho Zola and Vielle(the gorimapa man). So, I know. |

At which time. Go back and use your Wikipedia. Check from 1994 till 2005 and tell me how many titles Marseille Won. Check how many titles Chelsea won and their exploits in Europe during Babayaro's reign, including beating Real Madrid. Then tell me that Marseille was bigger than Chelsea.
How were they bigger? Be reading Wiki and shouting. Do not say the one you watched. I bet you never watched them play. In 1993 the world saw Olympics Marsielle crowned the Champions of European club football ahead of Chelsea. you know Abedi Pele na. 2004, Olympics Marsielle got to the finals of UEFA cup final. The next year they bought Taye Taiwo. Waoooh! In 2005, They won UEFA IntertotoCup. Olympics Marseille flogged Liverpool(Champions of Europe) in 2007. He played that match. From 1994 - 2010 Olympics Marseille won six trophies. |

terzurum5: AF Nigeria Premier League 2015/2016 Netherlands Omeruo says goodbye to Chelsea, joins Besiktas this week.
by Samm Audu
Nigeria international Kenneth Omeruo will say his final goodbyes to Premier League club Chelsea this week to join Turkish champions Besiktas after the London club turned down last-ditch offer from a Spanish La Liga club, AfricanFootball.com can exclusively report.
Omeruo and his representatives are expected to jet out from London this week to finalise his personal terms with Besiktas after both clubs agreed the switch.
“Kenneth’s transfer to Besiktas is virtually completed with only the Turkish club to agree his personal terms and this will be sorted out this week when the player is there to do his medical,” a source informed AfricanFootball.com.
“There was a late bid for him by a Spanish club, Celta Vigo, but Chelsea didn’t consider it.”
Besiktas scouted the highly-rated Nigeria stopper after he posted five-stars displays against them last season while featuring for Kasimpasa.
Kasimpasa won the first game 1-0 at home, while the reverse fixture ended in a thrilling 3-3 draw.
Kasimpasa, who are based in Istanbul like Besiktas, could not afford the five million Euros Chelsea demanded to sell the Nigeria star outrightly.
AfricanFootball.com has already scooped that Besiktas will make this transfer a permanent one after the initial season-long loan. africanfootball.com/news/633291/Omeruo-says-goodbye-to-Chelsea-joins-Besiktas-this-week Una see why I said don't trust these clubs. They are not interested in players future, they are only interested in their pockets. How can you shelve Celta Vigo for Besiktas? Well, Besiktas na big club in Turkey sha. |

Using official and unofficial is just to drag that the coach does not have a team while he already has.
Manu Garba already has his team. With time it can change.
They are a Team. U17, in the National team camp, selected by the U17 National team Coach. Kindly, I pray you list them. |

That I not true. He was already promising and just like others that did not play, there would have been another opportunity to show him. He might have gone to a Nigerian league club and his talent would have been noticed.

It is always done in a process of building a U17 team and as time go on, you discover better players to replace those in the team.
Coach Manu Garba already has an U17 team of 22 players but screening is still going on.
So saying there was no U17 team during screening is not the exact way it works. There was no U17 team as long as the camp is opened and no official list is published. Once, the list is made public then the U17 is constituted and camp is closed. Can you list the names of 22 players Garba Manu has in camp? |

Sometimes, Me I tire. You made it clear, Success displaced Awoniyi in the already selected U17. What he is trying to prove, I do not get.
The current team Manu Garba is building already have a selected 22 players out of over 50 players in camp. This stands as the current selected U17 team. With other players coming in and the when the MRI testing takes place, not all these 22 players will be in camp. There was nothing like already selected team before Isaac Success came into the team. He came before the U17 was constituted. The U17 team that was later constituted played the first preliminary qualifying match against Niger. Guess what? Isaac Success started that match against Niger. Tell me when he was displaced,? |

Icon4s: Bingo! Hahaha u have found out dat Ibrahim Alhassan failed MRI before CAF U17 tourney after u repeatedly maintained he bench Iheanacho at d CAF tourney. Ore ma fi ara bale. Some people na encyclopedia of Nigerian football here o.
I also forgot to mention Benard Bulbwa among players dat graduated from U15 to U17. Some failed d MRI prio to d CAF U17 of which i cant figure out there names. So i cant tell u d number. They are more than 5.
I wonder what u are argueing abt now because we already know that d MRI was performed jst before d CAF U17 & before d FIFA U17.
And of course u have accepted d fact dat Success displaced Awoniyi from d top 9 position.
So what is now ur argument abt? Of course, I have always maintained that Ibrahim Alhassan benched Kelechi Iheanacho when he first came to the camp and throughout his stay in the team which included the qualifiers where he became the joint top goal scorer with 5 goals, before he was dropped due to failed MRI test few days before the CAF U17 2013 tournament started. As you can see, I never said he benched Kelechi Iheanacho in the CAF U17 2013 tournament. If we have to go by your analogy that U15 automatically formed the nucleus of the U17 team then it is safe and right to say Ibrahim Alhassan gate crashed into the already formed team and relegated Kelechi Iheanacho to the bench. Is that not what you meant before I proceed further with my point? |
