Computers › Re: 3 Things Microsoft Cannot Explain by forkadict(m): 3:58pm On Jun 27, 2012
Maleeq: No biggie. Its a known tradition that programmers/developers add "Easter Eggs" to applications.

These are hidden features that don't necessarily add features to the application. But they are kinda cool. Google it out, do you know there are hidden car racing games in lower versions of excel??

There are several reserved keywords in Windows. The restriction isn't a mistake/magic that, as you claim, even Microsoft cant explain. Ofcourse they put it there to avoid conflict. The CON is a DOS reserved keyword that was brought forward into Windows. CON is used to specify the device file used to capture whatever was printed onscreen.

And oh yes, you can create the folder. You have to specify the UNC (Universal Naming Convention) path though. Try it:
Open the Command prompt by clicking Start -> Run and typing cmd
Enter: C:\> md \\.\c:\con and press the ENTER key.
Now, Open My Computer and browse through the path where you created CON folder... Surprising.. ?? Yeah.. you have created it successfully

Now, try to delete the folder from My computer. OOPS!!! You cant delete it...

Now, try this in command prompt console

C:\> rd \\.\c:\con

Yeah!! You did it...
Check this link for other names you cant use: Restricted File Names On Windows/DOS

Another hoax. They put it there to create "Filler texts" in a document. Not just the numbers (200, 99), try any combination.
Typing =rand(X,Y) (with numbers for X and Y) results in X paragraphs of Y repetitions of the sentence.
For example, =rand(10,10) will produce ten paragraphs, each with ten repetitions. Microsoft has officially described this as a feature and not an Easter egg.
While you are at it, try =rand() and see the "magic"

Wingdings font is all about symbols (characters to symbols), it was developed by Microsoft in 1990 and since then it has been a part of every text editor by Microsoft. Its no magic or hoax, but an amazing coincidence.
The magic is valid, but the flight number is a lie, those are not the flight numbers of the one that hit Twin Towers. The flight numbers were United Airlines Flight 175 and American Airlines flight 11. These, if shortened, would be UA175 and AA11. Q33N is just an interesting coincidence in notepad.

Neeeeeeeext!

^^^ Your reasons for disliking keita might be foundeed. However many viewers dislike him because of his snitching. He runs to narrate to Prezzo and Roki all that transpires between him & maneta majorly plus other petty gists and reciprocates same to the ladies. Now with maneta and barbz out of the way, he's got reduced snitching tendencies if you catch my drift...

BTW, how could you have expected keita to come from DV and call Prezzo to order in UV given his conduct while at DV? keita was on the quite side while at DV. i can't recall him having an open confrontation thruout his stay in DV. How then do you expect such a person to come to UV and face up to the President? The guy everyone expected to do that was keegan and clearly he has not done that. maybe because he doesnt have a strong enough reason to just yet. But still, fingers crossed.

uzomagic: The subsidy regime was unsustainable due to corruption and had to be dispensed with. That's simple enough. You don't need to know the dynamics to know that it will be more beneficial to the citizenry for Govt to subsidise production by investing in the productive sectors
For God's sake there is a sequenst of events whenever you want to do anything. We all know that in time, we will have to abndon the subsidy but before then, make sure you are left with no choice. Not the way things are right now. we still have choices. many choices. First recover looted funds, plough them back into the treasury, eliminate waste in the system, increase power generation so that there will be less dependence on petrol, increased wealth generation so that a larger percentage of the populace will thenbe more empowered to afford the increase in pump price, etc and when it becomes obvious for all to see that we can no longer sustain the subsidy then you remove it and that is the last item on the to do list.

Men.I watched DV housemates play a game of 'Never ever have i ever...' and Jannette (the mosquito)made my jaw drop all thru the show with her crazy sex.ual confessions. I hope she makes it to UV too when the time comes.

Keita's rising acceptance by the viewing public is still getting me worried for the following reasons:
1. Since Naija has won the show for the past 3 straight seasons. Since there is no more worthy nigerian left in the show to be crowned winners, the kingmakers will want to try their best possible to retain the crown in West africa at least if they cant retain the crown in naija. This automatically bequeaths the crown on Keita.
2. Keegan, one of the few contestants capable of stopping him has been in sleep mode ever since his entry into UV and i wonder when he will be activated if he ever will. I think again and ask myself, 'Will keegan really be able to stop Keita?' This question is prompted by the result of the votes that got him and Junia to UV. A potential winner would have emerged from the polls with a clear victory. Sharing votes with a contestant such as junia leaves much doubt as to his winning capabilities.
3. Keita's major distraction (Maneta) and cause of viewers dislike of his conduct in the house is out of the game. With this development, he can focus more on the game and will irritate the viewers much less.
4. His looks. Even tho, i disagree that he is goodlooking cos of his flabby physique, slight pot belly and his 'just there' face IMO. A substantial portion of the viewers are of the opinion that he can compete favourably with the world's sexiest man. Major known culprit here if tjskii.

At this juncture, i call on well meaning Big Brother Generals that it is time for WAR. @ safarigirl and other posters, we need to start an awareness campaign on why Keita should not win the moola. Maybe, we can sway some viewers and voters like tjskii to our side. $300,000 is a whole lot of money to give away to someone just because of his height.

Billyonaire: Why waste your breathe by responding to him ? You could see he understands nothing about subsidy and his brain has been overcrowded by conspiracies and lies. I can assure you, if he is enlightened to understand the basic dynamics of the Oil sector he will hide his head in shame.
OK. i understand nothing about subsidy and the basic dynamics of the oil sector right?I dont blame you. You only saw a post by Fork Addict the great and all you did without bothering to understand the content of my post was to ruch to the nearest cybercafe to you and post crap. Let me not derail this thread. By bringing up the subject of subsidy again. but in very simple terms, my point in the post you foolishly attacked was that funds, such as this and lots more that are 'lost' (I will rather say, wickedly embezzeled) in the oil sector majorly thru corruption, if recovered and ploughed to the nation's treasury, would still have sustained the subsidy regime for many years to come and there would not have been any need to increase the pump price of fuel at the time the id.iotic and clueless jona did. Simple.

Naijagunner83: This line of reasoning is novel for its foolishness. I'm mildly saddened by the crass subversion of logic and reason to your brazen lack of sense. The fight against corruption is ongoing and this is a direct fall-out of that fight. The Petroleum sector as you oddly pointed out has been riddled with corruption and if it must be deregulated, it must be sanitised. This is a bold step in the right direction and it has been hailed by many right thinking Nigerians.
God go join you with BEEF, punish una two together.
So for your mind GEJ dey fight corruption? Joker! The same GEJ that instructed the attorney general to frustrate Ibori's trial? It took a foreign country to get him behind bars. Now you come on here to tell us GEJ is fighting corruption? I no sure say you go school at all. ID.IOT

Beaf: You are funny. The subsidy racket has been going on since Abacha's time, when the good General built a private refinery in Ivory Coast with FG money and burst NNPC, so he and his cronies were the only ones importing fuel.

I bet our know alls in 9ja couldn't speak at the time, cos it would simply have attracted a bullet from Sgt. Rogers. Abacha wasn't a man of many words.
However, these days, it is fashionable for clever people to blame the man that has opened their eyes to the way the citizen was being phucked. 9ja is a weird and wonderful place indeed! You help a man, only for him and his family to spit on you and call you a fool; as GEJ said, "ITS A BIG BUSINESS." embarassed
Na God go punish you dis boy!

If you have been blind since the day you were born does not make others blind too. I for one, and many other posters here told your stoooooooopid, idio.tic, confused and cluelessssss boss that increasing the pump price of fuel was not the way forward. That he should fight corruption in the oil sector. You were one of the people who claimed that the best way to deal with corruption in the oil sector was to increase the pump price of petrol. now if i ask you, wasn't the increase just meant to inflict unnecessary hardship on hapless nigerians?

Your i.diotic boss emptied the treasury just to fund the 2011 presidential elections. That is why you and many other nigerians are so scared of naija having an honest man as our presido cos you know what will happen to your likes. No wahala. 2015 is around the corner. You see, there's nothing wrong on someone lavishing on their girl/boy friends on occasions e.g. Christmas/Easter presents, birthdays, Job promotions, Outings etc and not because they came over for a leg-over at the weekend.huh!

That's prostitution in disguise and you're calling it dating. But after your weekend, which other guys weekend will she be attendng, huh! undecided undecided

If the president have the names of the sponsors of BOKO HARAM, he should make them public. Then we find a way to get them to face the wrath of the law.

Just the same as he says there are CABALS, milking this country dry. Make their names public. If he conducted a probe, make it public. Is that difficult?

Its that thing called bias...when u like sumtin or someone, u look @ their positive side.(and dont start taking me up on objectivity!)
Glad u watched the video again...av watched it so many times that i can actually play, pause and rewind the frame in my mind. So this is d breakdown
1. DKB approached Zainab chatting with lady may...angry and told her not to try that again.
2. She left her seat to meet him when he said he will slap her if she repeats it
3.Zainab then 'chested' DKB..tht was the first contact...she was pushing back with her chest....the rest happened very fast
4. Then DKB pushed her back with his both hands to which Zainab ?reflexly slapped him with her left hand as she was going back and DKB replied instantly!
Zainab...was the first aggressor!

Ok. Now you admit you were biased in evalutaing keita's entertainment worth.
You said Zainab was the first agressor. LOL. During Prezzo's and DKB's face off, Prezzo touched DKB anumber of times with his hands. Why didn't that qualify as an act of agression? I don't know how on earth an act can be counted as agression with your hands and legs all down? With no form of impact involved? I will be glad if you can explain.

Just watched the video again. But guy, you are fond of viewing issues partially. Case in point number one you said about keita '...... Kaita is a cool dude minus his snitching.' and i suggested we should consider his total package which means we will consider keita plus his snitching abilities altogether.

Case in point number two. The video in question. You said zainab slapped DKB first. Now that may be true. However we need to again consider the holistic view. DKB was the first agressor. He actually thumped her in the chest first. Now that was similar to what Hannington of BB all stars did to Lerato before being disqualified. He touched her first. Comm'on man you can't go to a court of law showing that clip and hope to prove to a sensible judge that Zainab slapped DKB first. Cos when you say Zainab slapped DKB first, a neutral observer or bystander will have the notion that Zainab was the first agressor which is clearly not the case. The question is who attacked who first? answer that mon ami.

In case Keegan chooses to sleep in UV until he is evicted, then I root for Lady May to win. But most def not Keita or some other pretty boy or chic. I dont roll like that. We are talking about $300K here. It must go to the most deserving housemate on the show.

Regarding Keita and Mildred. there are more mature ways Keita would have handled Maneta's advances. The way he keeps screaming Mildred this, Mildred that is enough to convince anyone that Mildred calls the shot in their relationship. It's like her fear is deeply rooted in his mind. If he was going to reject Maneta's advances, then he could have done so based on moral principles and i might have forgiven him. But the way he kept on screaming Mildred's name at every opportunity was just disgusting. Besides, i would have been cool with him just flirting with Maneta and not necessarily forking her. But if he can do that as well, then from me, its thumbs up. For these reasons, i insist that a guy that behaves like a chic particularly where he consistently fails to demonstrate independence of will from that of his partner's is as far as I'm concerned, a cissy.

As for DKB and Zainab's case, I will take my time to search for the orijo clip. E be like say na pirated copy you see. As soon as i get it, I'll post the link. Or better still, can you post the link you have of the video hwre Zainab slapped DKB first?
