I have gotten mail for passport submission, my course is 2 years, but my passport have less than a year Validity.. do i need to get another passport? Because i saw on the mail that my passport needs to be valid throughout
.

123baba,
Congratulations! You don't need to renew your passport here before submitting it to CIC. Just submit your passport as instructed. Your visa will be issued with the validation of your passport. Once you get to Canada you can renew your passport and apply for an extension of your Visa.

Sorry about the delay. From the VO’s report you failed to convince him/her that you have strong financial backing and that there’s high job opportunity in your career path here in Nigeria. My questions to you are
1. How many years is the program?
2. Did you pay one year tuition?
3. Did your sponsor transfer 10,000 CAD to your acc as living expense fee
4 How much liquid cash did your sponsor show during your application? And did he/she explain source of income ? (Note that it’s not advisable to use a company or business account )
5. In your SOP did you explain why this program, why Canada, future plans after studying, how the program exposes you to opportunities in Nigeria. Stating brief and concise meaningful accounts of each year since your graduate study.
6 lastly if you are working here in Nigeria did you submit documents to back it up.
Nice job OFFICIALAEL

What institution are you heading to in Canada? Did the institution ask you to complete an English test bearing that you are coming from an English speaking country?
English language proficiency requirement is always waived for Nigerian students. So check properly in order not to waste your money for TOEFL IBT.

As i said earlier, Doing upfront medicals is not compulsory whether paper route or online route. It only helps in fastening the visa process and nothing more.

The duration before cic will request for medicals - That we don't have answers to.
If your application is successfully reviewed you will be called to complete a medical test.

Guys.. I Graduated from Houdegbe North American University, Benin Republic. I guess I shouldn't have issue concerning Travel history ...
Travel history is not a factual reason for visa refusal. Do your best by tackling other related refusal grounds not TRAVEL HISTORY. Moreover, having a Benin Republic visa is as good as not having Travel history at all, because the Visa don't count. A good travel history are European countries, Australia, North America, America etc...

Get a SPONSPOR to support your visa application, preferably a close relative with good bank statement, this will help alot in tackling the issues of insufficient funds that will be raised by a visa officer.

Please do you have to wait until you're instructed by the vfs before doing medical test?
Prudento,

No! If you wish you can complete upfront medicals and attach the E-medicals slip to your application. Upfront medicals helps in faster processing of your visa. So, if you do not undergo an upront medicals then you have to wait for CIC to instruct you to complete medicals, when such notification comes from CIC then it's a sign of success/visa approval.

Nice one Frankrobbn1... thanks for these helpful tips and keep up the good work you're doing here.

Please I would like to know if it's advisable to go for a PGD in Project Management in Canada after an MBA program in UK or would another Masters in project management be ok?

Reason I'm going for project management is because
I run a company here in Nigeria, partly projected towards conference/workshop organization. But from my experience so far, I discovered that I need to learn more on how to handle these projects and I feel that an in-depth project management course/program would help a lot.

On another note, I don't mind going for a PhD in Canada but how easy is it for me get through the admission process including finding a supervisor as well as getting funding for the program?
Your candid advice will be highly appreciated.
Cheers
Doraries,

Option 1-) If you've so much interest in this program PROJECT MANAGEMENT, having an MBA in Uk. I best suggest you go for a Phd. I'll like to also let you know that there are PhD students here in person of MAZI (Maziude) who is already in Canada, you can possibly Pm him and get informations from him and Silk07 who is presently active on this great forum. The both of them can be of paramount assistance in proof reading your letters and securing funding for you.

Option 2-) Go for another Masters degree in project management in Canada and don't disclose it to CIC that you already have an MBA in UK. This will also fly.

The above are my two opinions. As for the PGD, Its not a welcome idea.

All the best!

Please is SOP same as Letter of Intent/ letter of explanation.
Yes it"s thesame. It's left for you to decide which name suits you best. Most applicants here uses SOP mainly for their study intent and Letter of explanation to address the concerns of the visa officer regarding their previous denied application. So it's left for you to choose anyone.

Please house, I need your advice

I am currently 24 years old and am considering going back to school, I finished secondary school 8 years ago and I couldnt proceed to the university due to circumstances beyond my control.

I want to apply to schools in the canada for a bachelors degree, I am ready to take SAT/TOEFL if that will increase my chances of getting admitted. My question is what are my chances of getting the visa considering my age and what can I do to increase my chances.

Thank you all.
.

sKeetz,
Coming from an English speaking country, You don't need to sit for an English test prior securing admission into Canadian universities.
Explore to schools like: University of Manitoba
University of Winnipeg
Brandon University
The above mentioned school are very fast in admission decision(issuance of acceptance letter), you only need your waec result.

Your Age has nothing to do with your application for visa, you need to explain your study gaps, what have you been doing all this while and why do you decide to pursue your bachelor's degree now in Canada not Nigeria. If you can provide answers to this questions and explain clearly your study gaps and interests. Your visa will be approved.

All the best.

Check the admission requirements from the University webpage. Canadians institutions minimum requirement is 2.1 CPGA, if your grade point is up to this, you can fit in for a Masters degree. While some schools usually checks your last 2 years in the University. So explore more on the school webpage, possibly email the admission office.

Hi guys,

I just got my admission to university of Windsor and i am about to apply for my visa but i have certain difficulties and your wise counsel would definitely go a long way

1, i am 21 years old and i finished my Nysc November 2017 and I am currently Unemployed, please how do i tackle the issue of current employment situation

2, Please what can i use as home ties as i currently have no properties or money, my account is on zero balance right now

3, my dad is my main sponsor and he has close to 10 million in his account, will it be wise to use a family friend as a co sponsor and is it necessary for her to transfer money to me or is an affidavit of sponsorship enough ? note that my dad is bearing all the expenses and this is just a move to boost the finances

4, if i have to use her as the co sponsor, how can i show my relationship with her?

please gurus in the house attend to this

God bless
Omoarukheo,
1-) Current employment situation shouldn't be your worries now, simply let them know you're a fresh graduate, you just finished serving your home country and since then you have been gathering and preparing for your masters degree(admission) in Canada. You will be fine, they won't question you for that.

2-) You must not have property before your application can be approved. Simply add your parents landed property, business assests it's also a good tie to you and also include the birth certificates of each and every members of your family.

3-) 10Million is good to an extent. If I may ask how many dependants does your father have matters alot. Sponsporing your education in Canada will it pose to be a burden to his business, family and personal welfare?. After paying your tuition how much is left as his available balance. Remember you need to show proof of funds for your first year tuition and living expenses of 10,000CAD and you father must certify the visa officer that funding for future years exist i.e by adding documents regarding to his source of income .
Yes you can use a co-sponspor if the financial strain will be much on your dad and will affect his available balance. Just make sure the co-sponsor shows commitment towards financing your studies in Canada by either paying paying your tuition or transferring funds into your personal account.

4-) Since your co-sponspor is no way related to you. Let her pay your tuition or transfer funds into your account, it will go a long way in addressing proof of relationship. Also, remember to get vital documents from your co-sponsor and everything will be equal.

All the best!

If you can prove to the visa officer that you can meet the conditions of your acceptance then you have no problem.
The question you asked is simply asking you what is the difference between pre-university program offered in Canada to that of Nigeria. You should know more than we do.

I appreciate how detailed you've been in answering and helping out most people out here. I'm new here and would like to know how to get started with application. But, I like to also ask which is best between paper route or online route?

Secondly, please can I get a sample of SOP from anyone here as a guide to draft mine?

Thanks
AyoPrudence

BREAK DOWN BETWEEN ONLINE ROUTE AND PAPER ROUTE

1-)The online route no one will correct your mistakes like it is done on paper route where VFS workers will make sure your papers are complete and are arranged accordingly before submission.

2-) If you have scanners and a desktop/system close by, online route is okay. But mind u, u need to compress your documents before you upload them and you will need to complete payment with your credit card, but the paper route you are to pay at the counter.

3-)The online route, after submission you will get notification a day or 2 days depending at times 1week to proceed for your biometrics. While the paper route, you will complete everything that very day at the VFS office, then wait for the outcome of your application.

4-) Finally, Online route is more expensive (68K-70K) compared to paper route (55-57K)

So it's left for you to decide which best suit you. But be guided that none of them has added advantage to your TRV application.

In regards to the sample SOP you're requesting for, no one here can give out his/her letters to intending applicants. Explore to www.google.com there you can find varieties of sop's. Beware of plagiarism. I only review SOP's I don't give out samples.

hello everyone, please how is it possible to write maximum one page letter of explanation with all the information needed on it. its not easy at all
There is no maximum amount of pages you must have on your SOP, it really boils down on your situation and personal circumstances, if you have much to explain go ahead, but make sure it's not boring to the reader (visa officer). I always advise applicants to make their SOP'S brief, precise and straight forward 2-3Pages at least.

Hello house, I applied for my visa Jan 25 and was refused Feb 12. The following reasons were stated:
1. I'm not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources without working in Canada to pay your tuition fees.

2. I'm not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources without working in Canada to maintain yourself and any family member accompayning you.

3. You have not satisfied me that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay ticking:
- Travel History
- Purpose of visit
- Current employment situation
- Personal assets and financial status

4. Your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of one or more of your : qualifications, previous study and employment, level of establishment in your country and relationship to sponsor.

Please people, how do I go about responding to this? I'll like to re-apply ASAP

NB: My wife applied for open work permit alongside my study permit application as she will like to accompany me.
.

Tunba28

First and foremost apply for your GCMS note using this link: https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do?lang=en

Secondly: while waiting for the arrival of your NOTES.. Use this link to prepare for your next application : https://www.nairaland.com/3948393/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/391#63425662

Thirdly: Change your course and make sure your intended program is reasonable in control with your previous studies/job role.

Fourthly: Pay for your full tuition and have funds in your possession/account.

Fifth: Add both your sponsor and your personal bank statement to show proof of personal financial establishment. Moreso, remember to add necessary documents regarding your employment(CV's, introductory letters, promotion letters, employment letters, payslips etc..).

Moreso endeavor to establish proof of relationship to your sponsor i.e by showing previous transcations b/w you and your sponsor, birth certificates, marriage certificates, proof of payment of tuition.

Lastly, Prepare a rational explanation to why you opted out to study in Canada and not Nigeria, why the course, how this course would enhance your career prospects here in Nigeria, Show more interest in coming back home after your studies in Canada, provide strong ties to your home country by adding landed properties, building's documents, shares certificates and business investments in your name. Your wife is also a good tie(Why apply for a work permit at same time) she can do that once you have secured your TRV.

I strongly believe that putting all the aboved mentioned into consideration without getting your GCMS NOTE, your application will be approved.

All the best dude and sorry for the outcome of your application. It will end in praises in your next application.
