It's confirm today from IRCC news! Fall 2020 courses will be conducted Onine due to the COVID-19 and this doesn't have any negative impact when applying for your PGWP in future. Automatically, you shouldn't think of travelling to Canada until after the fall term 2020. Students can begin programs online from outside of Canada and complete up to 50% of their program outside Canada.

COVID-19 PANDEMIC has disrupted so many plans and activities. However, keep the faith and hope for the best.

It will end in praise.

@Frankrobbn1, thank you for your useful insights. I have a few concerns that I would like you and other gurus to please clarify.

1. I work at a reputable and internationally recognized institution but our salaries are paid into a virtual account and I basically transfer to everyone and zerorize the account on payday until the next pay day. Is this the SOA I will be required to submit or can I submit my normal account which is almost in the same state. Lol Abi my payslips will suffice?

2. I have a mutual funds savings that has more than enough to cover my tuition and living expenses, should I liquidate it into my account or just use the mutual funds statement? (Funds are available between 1-3 working days and it is usually stated on the statement.).

3. I am self sponsored and I intend that my husband transfers my tuition and living expenses to my account ASAP and probably pay half of my tuition. Do I need to explain huge inflows into my husband’s account? Say like 10m coming in 3m trenches? Account already has a balance of about that amount. (If I use him as co-sponsor)

4. I am expecting and will be due late oct/Nov. Is it wise to co-apply with my husband or apply alone? I want him to be present for the birth of our child. It’s our first child in 6years.
During my application, do I need to state this?

5. My school (St. Mary’s University) is giving me the option of applying for my visa through CUAC Ghana office. What do you think about this?

6. I know that this is a lot.
I apologize for the epistle.
Thanks everyone.
@GucciOluwa, Please see the comments below as per your enquiry.

1. You can submit the normal account which has adequate funds in it. There is no need submitting your salary account since there is little or no funds saved in there. Pay stubs plays a pivotal role for applicant's who are gainfully employed, it gives the visa officer an overview of your salary structure and tax deductions. So include it as well

2. Speaking from my vast experiences in handling study permit, PNP's and PR applications. I have colleagues that applied for permanent residency, and reading from the GCMS notes they shared with me, I find out that most often the visa officers are not satisfied with mutual funds statement for POF. The mutual funds statement were tagged as RR (Review Required) in their notes. This is simply because the Visa officer thought that the funds in the investment statement is encumbered by debt or other obligations and thus might not be readily accessible by the applicants.

So, I had to advise them (PR applicants) to liquidate the funds in their investment account and deposit it into their account, then raise a CSE to the processing visa centre. Having done what I told them their application moved from Review Required to ELIGIBILITY passed as evidenced in the subsequent GCMS notes they ordered. In view of this and from the wisdom of my experiences, I would suggest you liquidate this investment and provide a brief explanation as to the LIQUIDATION of the investment before the time of application.

3. I don't think it's very necessary to provide explanation to the 10M that will be coming in 3M trenches into your husband's account considering that there have been history of 3M in the account in the last 4-6 months. You only provide explanation if there haven't been any traces of such amount in his account statement.

4. This is a critical situation for you. How do you intend to cope without your husband when you've successfully put to bed in Canada. At this point, it's best you co-apply with your husband but your reasons for applying together shouldn't reflect or talk about your pregnancy. The visa officer might have a wrong impression that you're using study permit as a means to facilitate entry into Canada in order to give birth rather than educational advancement. Ideally, I would prefer you travel to Canada for the winter term. My reasons being that it will be very difficult and so demanding for you as a pregnant woman to adapt with the stringent educational system of Canada considering that you're heavily pregnant and due for delivery in October. More so, given that you're pregnant as at the time of application, you will not be able to undergo an X-ray test during your medical examination, as it can be very dangerous to the unborn baby.

5. You're a resident and a citizen of Nigeria. So, CUAC Ghana office is not applicable to you. I would suggest you use your home country as the country of citizenship and where you're applying from for your study permit.

6. In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns as regards your application. Do not hesitate to reach here for professional assistance and/or advise.

Is there another PR route we can take apart from Express entry?
Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP) and Rural Northern Immigration Pilot Program (ANIP). With these two programs you can successfully migrate to Canada as a PR. The AIPP route is the easiest and fastest route if you have a job offer in Canada and the POF for these programs are relatively lower. AIPP POF goes for - $3,240CAD while ANIP is 7,000CAD.

Canada study visa application is HARD!

You can do everything right and still not get it.

But for the issue of finance, all you have to do is pay full tuition or half tuition. Don't have your sponsor write bogus letter, not a lot of people care about their worth.
For employment prospects, have a job, provide your bank statement, pay stub, and a little money in your account.
For ties to Nigeria: Show business links, property, a thriving career.
For ties to Canada: Make your SOP address why you want to study in Canada, don't flaunt your links to Canada, or anywhere out of Nigeria.

My simple advice, show you are a high value individual and cover all the requirement....not the ones above, the ones on the CIC website.
Hey man!

Another 4 years at Regina? Lol
These guys are something else tbh, Left sec schl in 2013,stated things I've done btw then and now
even stated my job description is exactly what I'm studying for in the diploma. Nawa o
Shouldn't they even be glad I'm staying for just 2years, instead of 4 which makes me liable to stay back? I really wish there was a way we could boycott these people but Nigeria makes it clearly hard for everyone hence no choice!
Anyway let's see if the gcms contains any foreign stuff, why didn't they point this particular point in the first application? and I could remember i used the same POF i printed in for a Jan application, for a re-application in march. Could that be a reason for all these? This shi* hurts but we move
Why will you use a bank statement you printed in January for a march application? i.e two months before filing for your application. This act simply shows that you're the architect to your visa refusal.

Be well informed that a bank statement is only valid for a month. Anything beyond this time frame, you're ought to provide an updated statement before putting in your application.

As I have told you earlier, your chances of approval will increase if you do the right thing by applying for a bachelor's degree instead of an ordinary diploma in a college since you've not attained any post secondary education in the last 8 years after your high school studies.

Let's wait for the arrival of your GCMS notes and hope it's not generic as usual.

Keep the house posted when you receive this file from ATIP.

True and way better especially in this period of time. A high profile lawyer with several success stories will be of paramount help here.

Don't panic boss. Following your profile and work experiences over the last 5 years, there is a logical progression in your intended program (hospitality and tourism management). However, be sure that the program is a post graduate diploma program and not an ordinary diploma. So many applicants make the mistakes of applying to the wrong level of education and before they could find out its already too late. Therefore avoid such costly mistakes too when applying for admissions.

As regards your enquiry, please use MUN which has funding package for your next application and neglect the U of Regina admission. Changing of institutions or programs after visa rejection doesn't have any negative impact on your recent application. It even aids considerably to show that your current situation has changed, given that you're now reapplying with funding from MUN. Thus you can go ahead with MUN, there is no problem whatsoever.

Kaycevit and cleanclean, I regret to hear your visas were delayed.

@Kaycevit, Its weird to see that the VO rejected your application on the basis of financial insufficiency after you had paid in full your tuition fees. As per the bolded, one of the few guys I know that took the judicial review route on this thread after a visa refusal is kpizzle. You may have a look at his success story below. His application was rejected with flimsy reasons just like yours. He summoned the courage by refusing to follow the norm and immediately called for a legal advice and support, which the case was taken to the Federal Court of Canada. After so much deliberations on his case, the Chief Justice then demanded that a second visa officer should review his file and make a decision. His application was returned from refused to submitted before it was approved.

VISA OFFICER'S DECISION WAS OVERTURNED AFTER VISA REFUSAL ON THIS THREAD IN 2019.

KIPIZZLE'S POST ON THIS THREAD FOR APPLICANT'S CONSIDERING JUDICIAL REVIEW AFTER VISA REFUSAL.

Be mindful that this is a very tedious and time consuming process, you may also consider reapplying yourself due the associated cost.

I'm scared now.
You should never compare timelines and profiles when it comes to immigration process. An immigration application is a complex one, with many variables. No two applicants cases are the same, even if they may have the same date of birth, similar profiles, and may come from same country (Nigeria) or been processed at same immigration office (kenya VO).

Since you have filed your application, you must be aware that there are many questions to be asked on the application, which then has to be supported by documents. This is what makes each application unique, and so does the processing of such applications.

With so many variables, when you compare your application profile with another applicant, you are comparing apples to oranges. Please remember, immigration is law, and, no two cases are ever the same.

The uniqueness of each application does not stop here, the processing and evaluation of each application are done by humans (the visa officer's), who have their own unique personality and way of analysing. Even though each immigration officer is obligated to follow the law as stipulated in the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, the Regulations, and the manuals, by their speed, way they analyse, and their drive, are factors, which again add more variables to every applications.

Don't allow the high visa refusals discourage you. Hang on there, Your testimony is right around the corner.

I hope this little piece stands to motivate you.

I regret to hear that your study permit application was delayed based on the aforementioned grounds.

Please see comments below concerning some of the flaws in your last application:

Who is your sponsor? Is your sponsor closely related to you. Why are you been sponsored by someone when you laid a claim to have a well to do business in Nigeria which your wife will be monitoring and maintaining its smooth running while you're away for studies.

How old are you that you're still relying on someone for financial support for your studies abroad. Did you extensively and rationally explain how your family (spouse and kids) will be coping in case of any financial constraint that needs to be sorted out while you're away? -----》 This is why the visa officer has concerns about your family ties back home.

The visa officer raised limited employment prospects because you've not sufficiently convince them about your prospect with the Local Government commissions. How much do you earn from this organisation?, is the pay impressive that would compel your return home after studies? -----》 This is why the visa officer has concerns about your employment prospects back home.

You affirmed that you've a running business in Nigeria, did you include pictures of this business or transaction receipts to give an insight about the business. Any proof of business transactions in your bank statement from customers? Or company account?

I think you need to shed more light on the questions i have raised about your profile.

Has any study permit been approved since the beginning of part 17 of this thread? All I see are refusals!!!
You may not have seen much approvals lately since the beginning of the part 17 thread. This is because everything has time and season. A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to grieve and a time to dance. Funny enough, the refusals now can't be compared with the number of refusals we got late last year starting September 2019 - December 2019. This period of time was such a horrible experience for every member of this group. However applicants were still committed to the process and continued with their re-application.

My honest advise based on my personal experiences to prospective applicants who were recently delayed of their visas, is to get up on their feet again. Take this time to reflect, refuel and refocus on your application, try to do something different in your next application if it would warrant you including relevant documents/informations to substantiate that your situation has changed.

Reflecting and analysing the whole situation would help you see your mistakes in good light. Always learn from your past mistakes by re-strategizing and improving on your application. I spoke to a few number of applicants yesterday, having had an educative and interesting conversations with them about their delayed applications and documents attached, I learnt that some of these applicants were also architect to their problems. It's either there were going for a lower qualiifation, or there is no sufficient ties in the application. But that's by the way.

I have already seen so many people backing off due to the sudden refusals from IRCC. Please distinguished ladies and giants, Never give up on your dreams and always remind yourself how important and significant this Canadian journey is to you. The incentives that accompanies it and if not, for the sake of your kids.

I believe this would give you the energy and strength to push further the next time. All hope is never lost my people, stop nursing the thoughts of where you could have been if your Visa was granted, and start thinking of where to be. It is said once there is life; there is hope. You have to find an inner encouragement or motivation to get back up and start again. Be consistent as possible and have this at the back of your mind that "A knock down is not a knock out and you are not truly defeated until you’ve given up."

Ask yourself What Do I Need To Do Differently?: At this stage you ought to have pointed out the reasons why your visa was refused by the visa officer. What have you done wrong?, and what you should have done. This is an opportunity given by the visa officer to start better. Re-strategize and give it another push. Ask yourself the second time “what do I need to acquire, stop or improve on”? in an effort to better your approval chances.

If you want to get back on your feet and on track as soon as possible, you need others. Canada immigration is not something you can do alone, you need professional advice that will guide you towards the right path. If you face any difficulty in your application, or have concerns, don't hesitate to reach out here for counsel. Once you're done crafting an award winning SOP/LOE, try to contact some of the knowledgeable gurus here to vet and make appropriate recommendations in the letter to be sure you've done something new and expecting a different result (approval).

I believe the time for approval rains would come in a short while from now.

Finally, do not underestimate the power and grace of God Almighty whenever you put in your application. He still remains the author and finisher and he has absolute control over the visa officers at the embassy.

Keep faith guys and remain positive.

LOE or SOP as the acronyms implies is the same. Its individual case preferences that led to several applicants inter-changing the names so as to suit their needs. Applicants prefer using LOE to address the refusal reasons that were given by the visa officer in their last application and to provide additional information to show that their present situation has substantively changed. Whilst, an SOP serves to demonstrate the applicant's intention for pursuing the proposed program in Canada, the school and the career prospects and goals after completion of the program in Canada.

You must explain every lump sum deposits that occurred in your account statement. Lump sum are funds deposited in an account without any previous financial history. It's a serious offence and may lead to visa refusal if you don't provide valid or verifiable explanation to the Visa officer as to the source of the money.

Note all statements/clarifications as regards lump sum payment in your account must be backed up with adequate proof. This can come from sales of products or property, and business transactions.

Hello Mr Frankrobbn1 and other gurus in the house.Forgive me if you're not mentioned.
I'm currently going gaga.

I applied first in Jan and got denied in Feb. Refusal Details being: "current employment situation and family ties in home country and in Canada"

Here's my profile:
I'm 23(24 by October) No tertiary education yet, i have an 8 year gap from end of secondary schl up till 2020.
I've been working since 2016 as an ict staff at an energy company, learning software dev. And volunteering at a local book club
SOA= 11,200usd + 13M =about 62KCaD or so, sponsor is mum, 2yr fees + living expenses= about 40KCAD and is way less than the total of what i presented so money shouldn't be an issue.
I gained adms at NBCC for a 2yr diploma in network administration for Fall 2020,
I had my sponsor write a letter too including my SOP , waec, family properties including a land Doc in my name, mum's last designation and salary increase.

I reapplied on 4th of march with all info above and added
Proof of family ties which include: Dad and mum's employment proof, my birth certificate and that of entire family, each member of family's local govt of origin cert
I also added proof of employment which include : Employment letter, confirmation letter, ID, Leave approval for duration of study from my employer and also indicated that i hv been denied bfr above.

Today i got denied for the second time and I'm sad and demoralised.

Reasons being:
travel history
Family ties in canada and home country
Current employment situation
Personal assests and status
Purpose of visit

Man y'all help me please
And also how do i get the gcsms notes
I regret to hear your study visa was rejected. Please put yourself together as this is just a stepping stone to your next Visa approval.

I have taken my time to carefully scrutinised your profile and the list of supporting documents you had submitted in the last application. I can deduce that there is no logical progressive step between your academic plan and career background. What have you been up and doing for the past 8 years? Have you attained any professional certifications in your field even though you don't have a degree yet?, why do you think that when granted the privilege to study in Canada, you will perform well in classroom assignments and projects? Given that you've vast study gaps. These are crucial points that needs to be properly explained to the visa officer's comprehension in your next visa SOP.

In light of this, I would advise that you apply for an undergraduate program preferably a bachelor's degree in an IT related discipline.

While preparing for a subsequent re-application, I would suggest that you should apply for an admission at University of Regina or University of Saskatchewan. This would increase your chances of approval.

Finally, always seek counsel from knowledgeable folks on this thread. Cheer up, I see you getting your visa the next time.

You can't claim what you don't have. Since you don't have a landed property, a verifiable duly registered business with corporate affairs commission and good tax returns is adequate enough to demonstrate your personal financial establishment in Nigeria. Your immediate family (spouse and kids) are the strongest tie you can ever think of when applying for a Visa to Canada. So, emphasize on your family the most in your application.

Hi Everyone,
I am about applying for study visa to Canada and I am married but I do not want my family to accompany me for now though I have plans to invite them for a visit after I must have arrived Canada. I plan taking an upfront medicals. Now my question is: Do I need to submit my spouse and kids medicals along with my application? though they are non-accompanying dependents.

Anyone with useful info or where it is in IRCC site please assist. Thanks
No your spouse and kids don't have to undergo a medical examination if they aren't accompanying you to Canada in this present application. When it's time for you to file for an open work permit for your spouse and visitors for the kids, your husband in particular will be required to undergo a medical exam prior to a visa issuance.

If you clicked yes on the question in the questionire that says: 'have you lived 6 months or more than in any of the designated countries? You will get a medical request form but if you click no, you wont have the medical request form in the list of forms to submit.

But my question is this, I clicked yes to the question and have the medical request. How do I upload it? I downloaded the form and tried ticking the box yes( do you want to be informed of your medical request but it doesn't safe. Please, how do I submit this form, ticked or not?
I have answered this question last week and provided the filled medical request form. Please check my past post on MEDICAL REQUEST FORM .

Good day house

So I have been filing my application and I need clarification on these:

1. Is it normal not to have column to upload medical? because I can't find it on my portal

2. Also, since the schedule 1 form is a page, how do I fill my spouse information?

3. My sponsor is not in Nigeria, can I do the affidavit of support here and have it scanned to him to append his signature?

I look forward to your replies... Thanks.
1. Have you done medicals before in the last 12 months? You ought to answer yes in the online questionnaire, if you have undergone a medical examination.

2. Is your spouse accompanying you to Canada, if yes, her schedule 1 form will also be provided on the mycic portal.

3. Is your sponsor based aboard? If yes, sponsor should provide a letter of sponsorship and notarize it over there by a notary public officer.

Good afternoon guys!!!

I am helping my friend with a study Application in Canada. However his brother is the one sponsoring his education, so he provided a company bank statement and private account statement for 6 months. But I figured in the company bank statement, a lump sum of money was paid into the account on the 2nd and 6th of may 6mil & 33mill respectively while his personal bank statement shows that a deposit of 4mil was made on the 4th may.

Can we still use the statements with such inflow or do we have write a letter of of explanation or is it better we wait till the money has spent a couple of months there before we proceed with the application?
His sponsor (brother) must provide a written explanation as to the origin of the lump sum deposit in his account towards the time of application. Failure to do so will result to a refusal of his application on the basis of financial insufficiency. This would create an impression in the visa officer's mind that the sponsor borrowed these funds with the aim of securing a study visa for the applicant to pursue his education in Canada.

Note: All statements must be accompanied with valid proof.
