Lekiboboe:1-) Yes you can but you must declare at the point of entry that you've such amount of money with you to the immigration officer. This will be among the few questions that will be thrown at you once you arrive Canada. "Do you've any money with you"? 2-) Your dad should transfer the equivalent of the money into your account, then you approach you bank with the following Personal Travel Allowance (PTA) Requirements: 1-) A copy of your admission letter 2-) A copy of your valid Nigerian International Passport 3-) A copy of your valid visa of the country of destination (Canada). 4-) A copy of your flight ticket 5-) Verifiable BVNs 3-) Not all the immigration officers at the point of entry do request for POF. Some goes straight to the point and ask a few questions, which the officer then move forward to print your study permit and issue you an Social Insurance Number (SIN). However, to be on a safe side, you might want to print and take along with you, your dad's (sponsor) statement, or a copy of your dormicilary account statement and the cash you have at hand. 4-) Yes, you can get to open a bank account immediately upon arrival. The process is seamless and would require the following documents; 1-) A copy of international passport 2-) Study permit 3-) SIN 4-) Address. I hope this information helps. It will end in praise. |
Chalva:The visa officers at the Canadian embassy only have access to see the current balance in accordance with the instructions you gave to the bank as at the date the MyBank statement and Ticket ID/password was generated. The embassy doesn't have access to your available balance after the submission of your application. The visa officer only verifies the authenticity of your statement using the bank's verification platform. Note - No commercial bank will give out your available balance to a third party without your consent unless there is a valid proof that you're involved in a criminal case or fraudulent transaction. I hope this information helps. |
JustMellow:I'm fantastically good bro. The lockdown has kept everyone indoors including myself, thus my unusual presence on this platform to continue making impact and assisting others to actualize their Canadian dreams while we earnestly hope for the lockdown to be called off soon. I trust you're practicing the self-isolation at your end and staying safe too? |
Chalva:March applicants have started receiving updates on their applications. Matured married applicant can certainly be self-sponsored. That's even the most ideal way of proving to the visa officer that you're well-established in your home country and undoubtedly would return home after studies. It will end in praise. |
nannanie10:A bank statement generated online can be used for your visa application. Nigerian commercial banks like the Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) have now made it easier for their customers to acquire a signed and stamped SOA without visiting any of their branches. In view of the foregoing, I would suggest you should make a brief explanation in your letter sighting at the difficulty of getting a hard copy of SOA from the bank due to the current global pandemic lockdown. The situation is very understandable and the visa officer will acknowledge the SOA and move forward with the verification of its authenticity with the bank. You don't have to notarize any of your documents if the documents have an official stamp or signature. In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns don't hesitate to reach out here for assistance. It will end in praise |
Matildaben:Sponsor 1 - should have more than 28k in his account i.e 14M is adequate enough. Sponsor must certify in his letter of sponsorship that sponsoring the applicant's education and stay in Canada will not pose to be a burden to his family, business or personal welfare and must further confirm the fact that funds will be accessible during applicant's studies in Canada. Sponsor 2 - Should have an available balance of 9M and above in his account. Available on request is fine for the resume. Unless in the case that you're seeking for funding in a designated institution, then you might want to include the name and contact of your referees on the resume. It will end in praise. |
Matildaben:Do you mean a sponsor financing two applications at same time?. Or different sponsors for two different applications? |
Hammedbankole:The COVID-19 pandemic doesn't stop you from applying for your visa. The IRCC online portal is active and applications are still been processed by the Visa officers at the Canadian embassy. Kindly refer to my previous post about the subject matter and the source from IRCC news. MY PREVUOUS POST. IRCC NEWS. |
segzyndpep:You've no problem using your company account as the primary POF for your visa application. The post you quoted, was actually referring to applicant who is currently an employee in his/her respective place of work and now using company/employer's sponsorship as POF for a study visa application. Your case is quite different and appears logical in the Canadian immigration because you're the bonafide owner of this business and not an employee. Keep all hope alive and don't be frightened. It will end in praise |
LordAA:You can move money from Nigeria to Canada by changing your Naira currency to USD in any of the Bureau De change offices. You can as well as open a Domiciliary account and deposit the required amount in the account while you make the withdrawals/exchange to CAD in Canada. Alternatively, you can request for Personal Travel Allowance (PTA) from your designated bank in Nigeria. The maximum amount allowed for PTA is $4,000. As stated on IRCC official website, that the Canadian customs regulations require you to declare if you are bringing more than CAN $10,000 into Canada at the point of entry. If you don’t tell them, you may be fined, and your funds could be seized. These funds could be in the form of: 1-) cash (dollar ----> most preferable). 2-) documents that show property or capital payable to you (such as stocks, bonds, debentures, treasury bills, etc.) 3-) documents that guarantee payment of a set amount of money, which are payable to you (such as bankers’ drafts, cheques, travellers’ cheques or money orders). 4-) Bank Statements. I hope this helps. |
Chikaima18:When did you undergo this medical exam?, is it upto a year?. From the wisdom of my experiences it's appears that your previous medicals have expired, hence why it changed from Medical Passed -----> You do not need a medical exam.. Also, I'm sorry to say that a negative decision has already been reached on your application. You should therefore be expecting further correspondence from IRCC by next week. In the meantime, you don't have to send them an email for update on your application. Keep the house posted on the outcome of your application. |
LordAA:You don't require a Guaranteed Investment certificate (GIC) for the student visa application. This is basically a requirement for study visa applicants from Indian. |
Lekiboboe:Daalu nwanne m. Feel free to ask questions here should you have any questions or concerns. It will end in praise. |
Bruan:There is no set out timeframe by IRCC for you to be able to file for your wife's SOWP. Once you've successfully arrived Canada, secured an apartment and currently pursuing your program in a designated learning institution (DLI). You can absoutely apply for your wife to accompany you to Canada. The list of required documents for a SOWP are as follows; 1-) Proof of your tuition receipt, 2-) Admission letter, 3-) Stamped page of your Canadian Visa, 4-) Study permit, 5-) Proof of enrollment in the school (list of registered courses). 6-) Proof of funding (please refer to the current financal cut-off for LICO and make sure you're using LICO for your proof of funds) 7-) Documents to show proof of relationship with your spouse (marriage certificate, wedding photos etc). 8-) Proof of sufficient ties that would compel you and your spouse return home (Aged parents which basically rely upon her for care and support, landed property documents, buildings, investments in the bank, proof of registered business certificate etc). 9-) Letter of explanation from you (explaining why your spouse should join you in Canada and how important your marriage is to both of you and why you can't leave her to stay alone in Nigeria and where she will staying in Canada (your address) etc). 10-) A letter of explanation from your spouse (detailing why she should join you in Canada with your kids (if any) etc..) 11-) International Bio data page (for you) 12-) International bio data page (for spouse) The list goes on and on... these are few important requirements for a SOWP. It will end in praise. |
Lekiboboe:Boss, they are the same thing. Whether Deputy High Commission or High commission. Several applicants have gotten their visa using any of the address names. |
uche06:Your chances of securing a visa depends upon several factors which includes; First, if the PGD in business administration program is in tandem with your previous education or current employment status. Secondly, if you have the adequate financial resources to cover for the proposed program and living expenses in Canada. Lastly, If your intent to study in Canada is genuine i.e you must satisfy the visa officer that you've significant ties in Nigeria that can compel your return home after studies. Once you've sufficiently been able to address these critical concerns of the visa officer your chances are good. It will end in praise |
Cflow10:Please see the above answers in bold. |
demure178:Please ignore since you've already paid the required fee and your profile has been updated with your details. Be hopeful and wait for a positive outcome in your application. |
governorudeh:Your letter should be addressed to: Canada Deputy High Commission, 4 Anifowoshe Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. |
gregsamo:It is almost impossible to secure Master's admission in Canada with a Nigerian PGD. Your best bet is to apply for a PGD in Canada that would serve as a smooth transition to your master's. It will end in praise. |
faith7605:All the information you require for a successful study visa application can be found on this thread for free. Read through my previous post and make the most of the relevant links to begin the process. PART 15, PART 16 & LIST OF DOCUMENTS It will end in praise |
MylesChris:Here are some links that might be useful to you. Please take your valuable time to read through the part 15, and part 16 thread to gather relevant informations on applying for a study visa to Canada. demure178:In view of the bolded, you have nothing to be worried about since your account has been uploaded and your biometrics enrollment details are available on your application. In the meantime, you can enquire about the status of your application considering your application has exceeded the standard processing times. You can do so by contacting Nairaobi Visa office via Email -nrobi-immigration@international.gc.ca. Also raise a CSE via THE NAIROBI WEB FORM. It will end in praise. |
BizAdvisor:As I always advice prospective applicants on this thread, that the Canadian Visa officers doesn't regard company sponsorship for a candidate (employee) seeking for career advancement in Canada and the fact that no matter the amount in the company's account, the applicant's study visa application will still be turned down on the basis of financial insufficiency. This is as a result of several factors which I have listed in my previous post about Employer's sponsorship. I prefer you're self-sponsored applicant, while your company provides a cover letter confirming the fact that you will be absorbed upon your return with a promotion in office and an increase in salary as the case maybe. As per the direction of the visa process, follow the LIST OF DOCUMENTS FOR A SUCCESSFUL CANADA STUDY VISA APPLICATION to begin your application. It will end in praise. |
SilaV:I know so many applicants who were successful with student loans in their visa application and are presently undertaking their program in Canada. Sillysassysally, is one of them. You may want to reach out to her for any information or guidance. Sillysassysally Profile I hope this helps. It will end in praise. |
Hammedbankole:Travel history doesn't really matter and shouldn't bother you because you don't need to travel out from your home country before you can get your application approved. If you have not travelled before, you can simply explain to the Visa officer in your SOP that you don't like traveling or haven't thought of travelling abroad before. That, your reasons for wanting to travel abroad at this point in your life is to augment special worth to yourself and also because of how important this program (mention few benefits of the program) is to your career/business back home which would create lots of outstanding opportunities in your career and personal development. On the other hand, you can say your busy work schedule doesn't allow you to travel. Payment of tuition fees is not a prerequisite for a visa approval. However, prospective applicants pay up their entire tuition fees to prove to the visa officer that they have the financial resources to undertake the proposed program in Canada. I would suggest if you've the first year tuition, you can proceed with the payment while the living expenses will be in either your account or sponsor's account. With that said, be sure you've perused the school refund policy prior to completing an upfront tuition payment. It will end in praise. |
Owoch:Congratulations Owoch, its actually been a while. I can remember vividly how so many applications were held for a long period of time without a decision from London visa office as at May 2018 to August 2018. It was a very horrible experience for nairalanders during that time. It's nice to hear that you heeded to the advice given and didn't withdrew the application. We give God the glory and thus glad to be part of your Canadian TRV success story and many others. Thanks for reaching out here about the outcome of the long awaited application. I wish you the very best in Canada. It will end in praises for everyone on this thread. |
Lekiboboe:Upload the entire document showing the Ticket ID and password with other related financial documents. Don't worry about how the embassy will verify the authenticity, the MyBank statement has already been addressed to them, which grants the visa officer at the Canadian Embassy the full access to your personal account/sponsor's account . Just make sure your documents are clear enough and readable. It will end in praise. |
Luckymama:Sillysassysally (my CIC spy) in her voice , who was previously in charge of this exemplary service will be completing her MA studies this April. At the moment no one is doing something similar on this thread. Thus, we would appreciate If you would volunteer to take up the responsibility of creating and updating the database of current applications. This would also enable us monitor and keep track about the number refusals and approvals on this thread. More importantly, I have carefully observed over the last 4 years of my existence on this thread that volunteers of this commendable work mostly get approved of their Visas. I hope you will be among them. ![]() I wish you success in your application. I trust it will in end in praise for you. |

22tobiade:Admission process for undergraduate applicants takes 1week-4weeks. As for the chances of securing visa with an undergraduate admission, it depends on your level of education, sponsor (preferably parents), and the rationality level of your SOP. It will end in praise. |
AbigealTobs:Please refer to my previous post about Employer's sponsorship. |
