Hahaha...I will go and tell the courier that delivered it to go and pick it up for me.

I don't think it works like that o. Return courier usually has a special packaging. Any way, you could try.

Hi Fratermathy,
That's not exactly true. Someone that collected last week paid N11,500 and he stays in PH. I understand that those who did two ways courier need not pay anything...I'm not sure, but I will find out.

That person paid that amount because he submitted his passport before November 1st (new rates started with effect from this date). Those who paid for two way courier won't have to pay for return courier.

Secondary verifications like?

Last year, the embassy was in the habit of verifying account statements and documents, even after PPRs. It was a really funny thing but they did it. See link below to an experience in part 16 of this thread

https://www.nairaland.com/5233221/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/63#79642295

However, I'm really hoping that this isn't the case and we have no reason to think it is. I'm only suggesting possible scenarios for the delay. You'll get feedback soon. Don't worry.

A very big thank you to VFS and IRCC for doing their very best to confuse, depress and mess me up since I submitted my passport on the third. Thumbs up to them for skipping my application ever since. More wins

Still no update?

I'm really sorry about your experience. This Canada journey can mess with your head but don't fret about it. It's possible they are just randomly approving applications or they are doing some secondary verifications (they did that to some applicants last year after receiving passports). You'll give us good news by early next week.

Hehe, let us be calming down o. I saw the attached image online. Please can anybody shed more light?

This table is for VFS in-house purposes. Return courier is paid as a single sum of N12,570. Those who have collected their passports paid that amount, and same applies to all, even if your house is just a step away from VFS.

Feel free to call VFS or write them for confirmation and then update us.

Please o you people should explain what is happening here.. I tracked my passport i submitted on friday last week and this is the message I'm getting, see below.
your processed passport has been received at the Canada Visa Application Centre, on 2020/11/24 and is ready for collection. Your decision envelope will be returned to you via the courier service offered by the VAC. Collection of decision envelopes in-person at the VAC is not permitted until further notice. Please refer to the “Buy Services” page of the VAC website for further information on courier services offered by the VAC

That's a default message. Ignore it.

Dear IRCC,

I am a paper applicant who submitted an application since March 12th.
I a student of university of Regina. The only last In take I have is Jan 2021. I appreciate you for the medical request,AIP on 10th September.
I also thank you for the BVl since 27th October.

But please give me my approval and passport..

Or should I say give me back my palliative since March you have been holding on to it..
#papperapplicantslivesmatters!

I doubt if IRCC is on Nairaland. You should mail all their offices one after the other and raise CSEs too. Go on Twitter and Facebook and send your queries to them publicly. Call their Ottawa and Edmonton CPCs. Mail the Minister of IRCC and his office. Just raise awareness of your unique plight and let's see how it goes from there.

After paying the 12,570 for the courier service, do I also need to send a consent form again? Please this is urgent?

There's a courier consent form. Someone posted it sometime ago.

Been trying to reach VFS but their number has been busy all day.

You can also send them an email.

Please do a Covid test and send to that app (have forgotten but you can google) before landing. This is a new requirement since 21 Nov.

That's not true. Canada doesn't require a negative PCR test. The ArriveCAN app only asks you for self assessment and not a covid-19 test result. Please correct me if I'm wrong with a link to that information.

I don’t get emails from VFS but I usually check on the tracking platform and saw this now... thing is nothing has changed on my IRCC portal... no counterfoil or LOI.

Is this normal?

If you haven't gotten your counterfoil then it's not normal. Call VFS to confirm and then contact IRCC too.

I wonder why your update is showing Abuja then... Did they get things mixed up? Check your LOI if it came from Lagos or Abuja.

Somebody should advice me please

Apply to schools where you'll get full or partial funding. Almost all Masters by thesis programs give one form of funding or another. Admission is more competitive but it's worth it. Since you have a 2.1., you should work on a solid proposal and shoot your shot.

The decision envelope for your application, tracking ID No. 20201112xxxxx has been dispatched from the IRCC Office, to the Canada Visa Application Centre in Abuja CVO.

Did you submit to the Abuja office?

Please who can I email to report vfs for their horrible service?

cheesy cheesy grin cheesy
VFS Lagos has done it again

You can mail the company's management directly using any of the mediums posted here:

https://www.vfsglobal.com/en/individuals/contact.html

You can also write to IRCC or contact them on social media to make your complaints.

For a company that deals with passports and other sensitive documents, VFS has to ramp up their efficiency.

Good morning all.

Please one question that begs to be answered here is:

Has anyone received their passports back without having to pay the VFS in house courier fee? Obviously, using a two way courier service to send passport to them.

@fratermathy, et al.

If you used a two way courier service, you won't be asked to pay. Your courier company would come and pick up your passport when it's ready. Most times, they pick it up when they go there to deliver passports.

I just got this “Your application, tracking ID xxxxxx has been received and is under process at the IRCC Office on 11/25/2020 8:50:53 AM”. I dispatched my passport to VFS Lagos on 9th of Nov and it was received by the legend, Mr Festus on 10th Nov.

What does that message mean? Because it’s amazing IRCC is just receiving it

You are likely to get feedback soon. Typically a day after this message comes but it could also take longer. Just know that they are working on your passport now.

is it true that TORONTO has CLOSED ITS BORDER? embarassed

I can't seem to find any source for this. Besides, you shouldn't worry about air travel. Except the Federal Government changes policy concerning international students coming into Canada, you'll be mostly alright.

I’m not sure bout this, my friend who is here to DIDNT and hasn’t gotten a mail from neither VFS nor IRCC, but Counterfoil dropper and status changed to approved

He should check his spam box. It's only those who sent to the Abuja office that do not always get emails. Or maybe there's a mistake with his email address somewhere. If he tracks his application online, I bet that it's showing "being processed at the IRCC office".

I just paid for the return of passport yesterday after I received an email from VFS with the attached courier consent form. So I should receive the passport soon before the close of work on Thursday.

As for IRCC notification, I got the email last week Tuesday at around 5:20pm.

Great! smiley smiley
Wishing you all the best.
