Hehehe...you like story sha. Shebi na this Naija abi anoda one? Old age will come and go, report or analysis, you no go see.

Reference:
So when will the post mortem take place.... When will the accounts be closed.... When will the final report be made as to cost/benefit, impact on socio-economic statistics such as unemployment figures, productivity, etc. So that we can assess whether it was an overwhelming success or yet another collosal waste of resources... Nigerians should demand that.

The news says the government plans loan access from range of 30,000 - 100,000 naira to set up small businesses. Paltry in my opinion.

When they are disengaged, what next for them? Me, think it's better federal government empower these set of individuals by providing grants for them to start up something on their own, after been disengaged.

Politics / Re: Akwa Ibom Rerun: Why Ekpeyong May Not Return Despite Akpabio's Withdrawal by freeze001(f): 10:31am On Jan 06, 2020
There is still the 2/3 requirement for the Senatorial zone; apart form the APC, which of the other parties in the race meet the requirement? None of these other parties will inherit APC votes neither will PDP lose existing votes. Again, there may be 126,000 registered voters but unless there is some other-worldly force at work, not more than half of that number is likely to be accredited for elections so how does that work? Will they manufacture votes or force out voters? Some may have misplaced their voter's cards, be out of town, incapacitated, deceased, or just plain uninterested!

Anyway, let the rigging drama unfold.

Punch needs to watch the decay state of it's journalism, the headline and story is shi*t. Who handles recruitment at punch with this rubbish kind of journalism.

The headline read "how DSS spent *****"
The article contains no breakdown whatsoever, just a mumbo jumbo mathematics of dividing the total expense by the number of months.

I hate the fact that the government is useless to waste our money on the unlawful detention of IMN leader, I hate more the crappy and lazy journalism by punch newspaper

The people that first told you they spent N3.5 million monthly on feeding of 2 people and their security, did they give any breakdown beyond that?
Do you expect the Punch to cook up some figures as breakdown so you will still ask them for proof of how they came about such details? The purpose of this piece is to highlight the ridiculousness of such claim by the FG/Kaduna government and also expose the rot and corruption involved therein but you fail to see it. What security exactly? Are they mercenaries hired strictly for Zakzaky and wife or employee operatives already drawing a steady paycheck from the FG?

Instead of seeking to change legislation whenever it doesn’t suit ur purpose, why not recommend the president to change the AGF himself? Hasn’t he embarrassed the country enough with his 'Aboki' understanding of the law?
Our country needs strong independent institutions not men who think Nigeria and her constitution belongs to them for as long as they and their kin retain power!

In fact, even the president needs to go because he is guilty of the bold part too.

Exactly what was on my mind. This is where any change or amendment should happen. The AG remains the chief prosecutor of the federation and should maintain oversight of the EFCC and ICPC while the Minister for Justice deals with the politics of the ministry without touching any investigation or prosecution issues. That way, any political colouration or interference is drastically reduced.
donpapa:
Not only that, the ministry of justice should be separated from office of the Attorney General of the Federation to wade off undue political interference as we’ve experienced over the years.

It is even possible they have already shared it while flying kite to see public reaction. Not that they are bothered by public reaction though. I don't even like talking about these NASS members, they are all united especially on matters like this.

Who approved that money? Buhari abi? Always make sure you include him when calling out the NASS for balance and neutrality. Who is to say Buhari and crew don't have a significant cut in the sharing which according to you, may have already taken place?

Politics / Re: Sowore, Dasuki: Garba Shehu Angry Over Media Reports, May Appeal Case by freeze001(f): 9:52am On Dec 25, 2019
agentakins:
The Presidency has condemned some international news outlets ascribing the detention and release of the Convener of Revolution Now, Omoyele Sowore, to journalism.

Malam Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, said Sowore was detained and later released on bail today by the Department of State Service (DSS) not due to his work as a journalist but because he called for a revolution to overthrow the democratically elected government of Nigeria.

Shehu made the clarification in a statement in Abuja on Tuesday.

The presidential aide, therefore, frowned at those ascribing his detention and release to his job as a journalist.

The statement read in part: “The Presidency wishes to clarify the release on bail of the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress in the February 2019 elections, Omowale Sowore

“Some international news outlets have mistakenly been describing his release as that of a journalist.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the Buhari administration has never, since coming into office in 2015, detained a journalist, seized copies of newspapers or shut down a medium of information.

“However, the President wants an important lesson to be taught in the country – this is that – `we will obey the order and they will be let go and the processes will go.”

https://dailypost.ng/2019/12/24/sowore-dasuki-presidency-angry-over-media-reports-may-appeal-case/

How come Garba Shehu felt so comfortable telling this lie (the bold part) without compunction? Is this how low they've sunk? They can't even pretend to be honest! When the army closed down Daily Trust and Police arrested Premium times editor nko? Besides why is Shehu crying as if Sowore is not a journalist? Were they not enjoying him in 2013/2014?

Talking of appeal, why did the FG feel too special and big to appeal immediately orders granting bail were issued? Why choose to abuse legal processes and disregard valid court rulings then months and years after, when they've come under international pressure to comply with the rule of law, they want to engage same institutions ie the courts?

I wish the judiciary will throw out every case by the FG attempting to resurrect these issues especially appealing bail ordersthey refused to obey initially! Something nerds to be done by the judiciary to teach litigants especially the Executive some lessons!
