Celebrities / Birthday: I Have Survived By His Grace- Eucharia Ajuzie by FRESHGIST247: 12:17pm On Jul 07, 2019
Sometimes life will throw at you events you cannot control but how you react to it tells more about your personality.

Being alive is a gift from God- Eucharia

This is the story of Eucharia Ajuzie, a lady of substance, a journalist by profession, an igbo lady from Abia State and above all a philanthropist. Unlike most people in today’s contemporary society, Eucharia has been able to hold her own despite so many challenges life has thrown at.

This is a lady who suffered a life threatening illness which many would have given up on life as a result of such hopeless situation. But the reverse has been the case with her even as she came out of it to become a role model to other ladies passing through same challenges.

According to her ” surviving has not been easy but the grace of God saw me through and if there is anything I can do to thank him, I think praising him should be my hobby.” She said as she celebrate her birthday today July 7th, 2019.

Eucharia Ajuzie once passed out during one of her era of constant illness but miraculously survived after being rushed to Braithwate Memorial Hospital, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. She couldn’t even stay for her mandatory three weeks NYSC orientation camp, all she could do was just register and redeploy from Delta State to Rivers State where she later completed her Youth Corps service year.

People may not understand, but alot have happened to her in the pass few years both positive and negative, one striking thing about it all is her strong faith in God.

She was privileged to be under the tutorials of one Mr. Frank Eze, MD of Gadgets Place who she works for the impact of the mentorship has really been unprecedented.
There is an African adage, which says, show me your friend and I will tell you who you are, that has played a role in her life. She has had very supportive and encouraging friends like Ifeoma Clement, Mary, Frank Anyahara, Adeola Adeyemo and Blessing Dubi. The family they say lies your first best friends that has been the case with Eucharia Ajuzie who has been blessed with such wonderful fellows like Ephraim Ajuzie, Njedeka Jesus Ajuzie, Captain Christian Agumor, her sweet mum Mrs Ajuzie.

Abike Dabiri-Erewa is a Disgrace not fit to lead NIDCOM- Deji Adeyanju
…Calls for her sack over alleged fraudulent Martin Luther King’s award and other Diaspora misinformation

By regulusnews - June 8, 20191 0

Moses Jonah I.

Rome/ Abuja- Sometime last year Deji Adeyanju accused National Dispora Commission, NIDCOM, Chairman Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa, of peddling fake rumors and someone who is not informed before laying claim to facts.

In a statement published in Vanguard Newspaper on 30th March, 2018, signed by it’s National Publicity Secretary, Theophilus Abu Agada, the group however called on President Muhammadu Buhari to sack the assistant for what it described as “the scam called Martin Luther King Jr’s leadership award conferred on president Muhammadu Buhari.”

He went ahead to even ask President Buhari to sack her for gross incompetence and disgracing the Presidency in the international community .

According to the group, “Our attention has just been drawn to a statement made by the Senior Special Assistant to the president on Foreign Relations and Diaspora Affairs, Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa.

“Mrs. Abike Dabiri, during a live radio program on Ray Power FM, referred to our convener, Deji Adeyanju as an ‘Idiot’ for exposing the scam called Martin Luther King Jr’s leadership award conferred on president Muhammadu Buhari.

“We find it amusing that instead of clarifying to Nigerians on the sham award, the senior special assistant to the President, in her usual condescending way of responding to issues of national importance, resorted to insults and petty name calling. The group said.

The Diaspora Commission is expected to act as liason link between Nigerians abroad and President Mahammadu Buhari.

But as it seems the events of late have exposed Hon Abike’s shallow mindedness, President Buhari is the victim here because every Nigerian abroad thinks he doesn’t really care.

This have been the case with several issues arising from Nigeria’s various Embassies all around the world. She has always addressed them as though Nigerians are not known for their good behavior rather fraudulent acts alone.

The case of Mrs Emevon, most recently Ms Patience in Italy video which she has gone viral due to reasons believed to asking for passport to return to Nigeria.

The approach of NIDCOM Chairman, Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa, as usual has be to conderm Nigerians abroad not taking her time to do a proper investigative journalism. As a journalist she ought to check her facts very well before coming out to make statements.

In recent times one will just have to ponder over the continous defaming and de-marketing of our mother land Nigeria. This is not a good one for our dear President Buhari who is struggling with internal matters at the moment.

Politics / Zamfara Consoles Families Of Attack Victims by FRESHGIST247: 8:52pm On Dec 23, 2018
The Zamfara State Acting Governor , Alhaji Sanusi Rikiji, on Sunday attended the funeral prayers of victims killed by armed bandits in Magamin Diddi village in Maradun Local Government Area of the state.

Rikiji, who is the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, condoled with the families of the victims and people of Maradun Emirate and described the incident as unfortunate and worrisome.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the bandits attacked the village on Saturday around 4 p.m.

Rikiji said the State Government had been concerned about security matters.

“It is very disturbing, so distracting the way our people are being killed by terrorists.

“More often than not, we could not even concentrate and face our work, due to pressures of insecurity in our communities,” he said.

He urged security operatives in the state to maximise their efforts in tackling the challenges.

Rikiji noted that the state government had been providing all necessary support to security agencies in the state.

“We are ever ready to continue to offer any support to security agencies, at whatever cost, in order to address the current security situation in the state,” he said.

He urged people of the state to continue with prayers to seek Allah’s interventions to end the situation.

The acting governor also appealed to communities to provide information on security to security agencies for prompt response.

The heads of security agencies in the state were also in attendance during the prayers.

In their separate remarks, the Emir of Maradun, Alhaji Garba Tambari and Chairman Maradun Local Government Area, Dr Yahaya Shehu, called for deployment of more security personnel in the area. (NAN)

Business / EXPLAINER: 10 Things To Know About Access Bank, Diamond Bank Merger by FRESHGIST247: 7:53pm On Dec 18, 2018
The management of Diamond Bank on Monday announced its merger with Access Bank.

A statement by Uzoma Uja, the bank’s Secretary/Legal Adviser, said the transaction will be completed by the first half of 2019.

PREMIUM TIMES brings you ten things to note about the deal and the banks involved:

1. Access Bank is not new to merger and acquisition. Beginning 2011 and effectively in 2012, Access Bank took over the defunct Intercontinental Bank Plc. Although the integration was alleged to be riddled with controversies as reports said over a thousand staff of Intercontinental Bank were laid off during the process, the bank emerged stronger and bigger after the acquisition.

2. With the new merger, both banks (Access and Diamond) hope to leverage on their distinct potentials to build a stronger bank. Access Bank boss, Herbert Wigwe, said both banks have complementary operations and similar values, and a merger with Diamond Bank, with its leadership in digital and mobile-led retail banking, could accelerate Access’ strategy as a significant corporate and retail bank in Nigeria and a Pan-African financial services champion.

3. The merger, the banks hope, will create Nigeria and Africa’s largest retail bank by customers.

4. The Board of Diamond Bank said it believes that the merger is in the best interest of all stakeholders including, employees, customers, depositors and shareholders and has agreed to recommend the offer to Diamond Bank’s shareholders.

5. The merger has however not been completed. The bank said the completion of the merger is subject to certain shareholder and regulatory approvals.

6. Access Bank says it has a strong financial profile with attractive returns and a robust capital position with 20.1 per cent CAR as at September 30, 2018.

7. The proposed merger would involve Access Bank acquiring the entire issued share capital of Diamond Bank in exchange for a combination of cash and shares in Access Bank via a Scheme of Merger.

8. Based on the agreement reached by the boards of the two financial institutions, Diamond Bank shareholders will receive a consideration of N3.13 per share, comprising of N1.00 per share in cash and the allotment of two (2) New Access Bank ordinary shares for every seven (7) Diamond Bank ordinary shares held as at the implementation Date. The offer represents a premium of 260% to the closing market price of N0.87 per share of Diamond Bank on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (“NSE”) as of December 13, 2018, the date of the final binding offer.

9. Also important is that immediately following completion of the merger, Diamond Bank would be absorbed into Access Bank and it will cease to exist under Nigerian law. The current listing of Diamond Bank’s shares on the NSE and the listing of Diamond Bank’s global depositary receipts on the London Stock Exchange will be cancelled, upon the merger becoming effective.

10. The new transaction is expected to be completed in the first half of 2019.
