Many African languages in Africa, were written in Arabic script. Swahilli...which is spoken by millions of people throughout East and Central and South Africa, used to be written in Arabic script...see below.(That is in Swahilli, an Arab won't be able to understand what was written down there). As were many other languages..(Persian, Urdu, even Turkish).

Language is neutral. If we want to label Arabic a muslim lingo...then we must label Roman script a Roman pagan lingo..since it was invented by the Romans who worshipped many gods, and did human sacrifices on occasion....(Cyrillic script, which is used to write Russian and Serbian, was invented by two Christian missionaries...in the 4th century CE.).

Hausa, for many centuries...was written in Arabic script. The Roman script is a recent innovation (came around 1900-30.).

If an Arab read it, it won't mean anything to him. Just like us reading the below word...
