Funnily, majority of the places they have been claiming to be part of their territory, representatives of those people was present and they bluntly denied them.

Benue and Taraba were once under Southern Nigerian Protectorate but when the British wanted to create Western and Eastern Nigeria, the people of these provinces opted to join the north because they said they could not stand being in the same region with the Ibo as majority.

Out of all four regions(Northern, Western, Eastern and Lagos colony) created out of the two protectorates, Eastern region was the most restive from Inception as every other people's wanted out.

The minority people in the coastal provinces did not relent to have their own region (COR region) but Ibo majority in Enugu refused their calls for a referendum on the matter. It is then that are now crying for referendum to leave Nigeria

The minority people took their plight to the Federal level after all means to get one at Enugu fell on deaf ears .

In western Nigeria, Ibadan voted overwhelmingly to allow for a referendum for the creation of Midwestern region despite Yorubas being the majority.

The majority had it on good conscience that they will be hypocritical to have fought for independence from the British only to deny their fellow Africans their own self rule agitation.

A Yoruba man even moved the motion in Ibadan which was immediately supported by a majority voice vote.

But in Enugu , every attempt by the minority people to get COR region was shut down by the Ibo majority.

The minorities took their matter to the Federal parliament and had secured the overwhelming support from Northern, Western and Midwestern MPs.

This is why they activated their minions in the army to truncate our democracy and abolish regions and from there place themselves as supreme dictators in a centrist autocratic quasi military regime.

The reason for Ojukwu declaring Biafra was because Gowon had finally granted minority people their own states (Old Rivers and old Cross Rivers).

Achebe wrote that Gowon declaring states for minority people was the darkest day in Ibo Eastern Nigeria.

And when Gowon finally liberated minority people from their genocidal grip, that is when the fight in then evaporated because there was nothing left to be proud of in a landlocked Biafra.

For other posters here, it simply translates to the university that has the highest published number of peer reviewed research and cited academic works which basically is what universities are supposed to be - places of academic research .

So that means covenant university has published more research material (PhD thesis) than other universities.

As per Covenant University, I believe this will be more works in social and religious studies than STEM.

Ibadan, OAU and Lagos will have the highest published STEM papers while ABU will be in medical and history (this is their strong points).

An ISR plane should never have been used for carrying passengers. The question here is, was the Airforce charging people who flew this plane? If so, who was the money being paid to? Did the Nigerian civil aviation authority permit this plane to be used to carry passengers?

For those who don't know, this plane was the airborne command centre for operation Lafiya Dole and Operation Hadin Kai in the war against terrorists in the north east. The plane is equipped with advanced sensors and surveillance equipment for monitoring electronic communications of terrorists and their movements. This is the plane that provides fighter jet pilots and military units on the ground with information about terrorist locations, movements and logistic hubs. The alpha jets we still fly, rely heavily on information the ATR-42MP provides for strike locations.

We can now understand how terrorists can attack Nigerian army bases without their advance being spotted. The plane the Airforce should be using to monitor them, is being used to carry VIPs and passengers around. The commanding officer of 81AMG Benin, where this plane was based, needs to be sanctioned.

Using an ISR plane to carry passengers and VIPs is a gross abuse and flagrant unprofessionalism. It will take years before another one can be made available. The company that makes this plane has a backlog of orders. So in effect, Nigeria's fight against terrorists has suffered a serious setback.
