It goes without saying - Education must be in the top 5 priority improvement areas in Nigeria. Most times Nigerians over-look signs of impending disaster and choose to make excuses for failure without examining the symptoms and curing the illness. Patience level of literacy (or should i say Illiteracy) is damning. It takes a President who is truly honest to say. This is not good enough for Nigeria- This is not good enough for me. If children are failing WAEC exams at an alarming rate, why blame them when the 1st Lady cannot do any better. One person who struck me as a stark illiterate was factional OPC leader Gani Adams. Look at him today - polished and educated. I watched him give an interview and i could not believe the level of change in his intellect and awareness. What about Synagogue Pastor TB Joshua, these days he can actually give preach rather than spout phrases he has memorized.

If GEJ is fine with Patience, then it is his personal business, When it starts to show up on national and international circles, it becomes Nigeria's business. She must get educated even if it is just basic primary school education

Kobojunkie why not excuse yourself from this thread if you have nothing constructive to add. Just nitpicking as usual at another person's posts whilst completely the wider point F Stranger made.
In other words the system still produces writers, scientists and engineers in large numbers who excel in their chosen professions.
Her blind criticism of the system is becoming ridiculous and unacceptable.
How can a Nigerian hate the system so much?

I am beginning to think that. . .

You are very very pathetic and highly stupidd ( no offense)

So Nigeria where they all had more than 12 years of their schooling did not produce these giants. They were all produced by the educational system of the foreign countries where they only attended for 4 yrs.

Does that make sense to you Kobo: 12 Vs 4. And, in your senile mind, 4 trumps 12. So it is the 4 yrs that Soyinka spent at Leeds that made him win the Nobel prize even though some of his stories and plays were from Yoruba folklore? Despite plagiarizing our collective memory and  works by D.O. Fagunwa and other Naija greats, you still want to give the credit to the Oyinbo man? Not to Wole Soyinka himself who labored night and day to achieve his dream. And, not to his so many Naija teachers and the unique Nigerian environment that shaped his life, outlook and attitude. You are just pathetic Kobo. You are disgusting.

Shifting the goal post as usual?

I thought your point was that nothing good came out of the Naija's system?

Eku bear,

I would prefer Yorubas hold ACN, Hausa ANPP and Igbos hold APGA and make sure you control and these party define your expectations of the Center govt.

Then come to a compromise where you clearly state what you want from the govt not just a govt of PDP where Akala is doing thiief thief padipadi with Theodore Orji
Wishful thinking!

You make it sound as though all Yorubas think alike

Contrary to what you may think, PDP is a real force to reckon with and no one, I repeat no one, has the sole right to the use of Awo's name to win votes.

ACN cannot adequately represent the west. Just saying~

The last time I checked, The  four individuals that moved the motion for independence are from just three ethnic groups thus:

Wa: The Yorubs; Ladoke Akintola and fani Kayode Snr
 ZO: The Hausas; Tafawa Balewa
Vare: Enahoro

Where is the Alaigbo representative in that equation?

As always, the Ibos were on the wrong side of history.

Is this scheme to establish a New Nigerian Order in fact a reality? Yes it is. If you do not believe this I encourage you to look at the polity a lil more closely.

To the rest of Nigeria, there is no difference between the SE and the SS, and since they have a representative in Asorock. It is only fair that A Yoruba man becomes Senate President

I hope Dora, who seems to be leading the Igbos in their showdown with the SW, is willing to die for what she believes in. Because the last time, i checked, only one group has shown time and again that they are ready to give it all their all for what they want.

The last time the Ibos tried fighting for their right, the leader fled to the Ivory coast. How are we so sure that when push comes to shove our dearest flip-flopper a la rabble rouser par excellence would not flee to Somalia.
