@Kobojunkie, PDP has never been a popular party to the common man. it has been just a rigging machinery and platform of deception, that few thieves come together using their stolen wealth to coarse the masses. God is doing wonders just watch and see the downfall of PDP and its representatives on NL headed by BEAF.
Can we just leave God out of this?

Man's problem can and should be solved by Man.

The problem in Nigeria is that most of the populace are cowards and would rather sit tight, hoping for God to intervene, rather than take action!

Hehehehe.  You're Alex.  But I'm not Latka.  Tough noogies.

Akainzo:
For your information, the people passing SAT, GRE and TOEFFL in Nigeria are the same ones passing WAEC and JAMB in Nigeria. And like I said, after scaling that huddle, they almost always are the best in their class, outperforming those that have been schooled the US way all along.
And I dare say WAEC is much tougher than SAT. Go ask people that have done the two. The problem now is the educational system that is on the decline. But when it was at peak, SAT was definitely not comparable to it.
I did the two and I have friends that have done the two and we dare not come to such baseless conclusions.

Anyway, you can believe whatever you want to believe. Enjoy!

My guy, you are quite an uneducated man that has only gone through school. A PhD gives you only in-depth knowledge of that narrow field of academic study and does not translate into an experience for administration.

Ok. let me break it down for you, after high school, you can do 4 years Graduate, 1 year post graduate and 2 years doctorate in Electrical Engineering. When you come out, you would still not be qualified to work in any company that has advertised for an Electrical Engineer with 3 years experience. Do you now understand what experience means?
Obviously we have had different educational experiences.

I used to think like you when I was in Nigeria. But after years of rigorous education  in the US, I now know what real education is

Little wonder, you and your ilk are unemployable. Arrant educated illiterates.

My guy, you must be going off on an handle when you typed the above.

[s]Please tell me which PhD holder led China to such development strides, which Professor led India to its current nuclear status or that Bush was a Professor of Engineering.

The last time I checked, Bill Gates that sat atop the most successful software company in the world was a school drop out. It is this craze for paper qualifications in Nigeria rather than abilities that has led us to where we are now. You have a bunch of graduates that cannot even write an application letter for a job.

For your information, Standard 6 holder in 1967, talk less of a Diploma holder, would dust most of your graduates of today. And you can even see the difference in the eloquence of a common Diploma holder compared to a PhD holder in your GEJ.[/s]

By the way, the educational qualification needed for Presidency is a School certificate.
I can tell that you never took SAT.

IF you did, you must have failed the analogy section woefully.

I rest my case, you are not worth my time!

This just shows the kind of people surrounding our Ph.D holder. Obviously he is being advised by people of lower academic or intellectual abilities that this man with a Diploma in Hygiene.

Pray tell me, when did someone's academic qualification become an experience? This GEJ's team are a bunch delinquents in any intelligent abilities.
Obviously, it is lost on that guy that Atiku was already in line to be a Governor, and not a Deputy Governor, before he was selected as Vice President. So in essence, in 1999, Atiku was deemed qualified for a Governorship seat while GEJ was deemed for a Deputy.

Also, by 2003, Atiku was still found worthy of a VP position while GEJ was still deemed only good for Deputy Governor.

And the guy should be reminded that both of them were in the customs, while Atiku rose to the top echelons, GEJ could not rise even to the middle ranks.

Today, people can come out with people and ideas that Atiku contributed towards the OBJ administration, let someone tell us what GEJ contributed or people he nominated during the Yar'adua years.
Can you be any 'stupider?'

Ph.D education in whatever discipline is one of the hardest things to accomplish in life, probably only second to being launched into space.

A good Ph.D education entails rigorous problem solving skills. Ph,D education tests your understanding, comprehension, intelligence, attitude, and managerial skills. And what do you do as president again? Mostly, you manage and problem solve, of course in different situation, but the skills you use are somewhat the same.  The Ph.D education, like being a president, is a character building endeavor. And your ability to complete a Ph.D program tells a lot about your readiness, indirectly of course, to be entrusted with power.

If you cannot understand that experience and academics qualification go hand in hand, them you should not be allowed near a computer, let alone be allowed to use the internet.
Forty years ago, everyone did not have the opportunity to go to university.  In fact, people who completed "standard 6" in the 60s were considered by some to have the equivalent education of those who completed Secondary "form 5" decades later.

I don't like this Atiku guy, but his having a diploma in Hygiene is the least of it.

Some trivia for those who always judge everything by American and European standards: Yes, in the USA, you need not have any post-secondary education to run for local or national office.  There are a number of state legislators who have only a high school diploma.  A college droupout almost became governor of a southeastern state in the last election - she was secretary of state (of GA) before that.
Again, you have put religion ahead of common sense.

He is aspiring to the highest post in the land, not to be governor.

In this century, education has become very important. And , in the developed world, the best and most educated people are the ones elected to lead them. Education is not everything,I agree. However, it is the most important thing in this age. He had the opportunity why did he not better himself?

The well known Yoruba adage goes thus: Omo Ti ako ko, loma ko Ile tako ta.

Atiku hasnt been well trained, his sole aim is to loot the treasury and anything to bring him down, IMO, is fair game.

Dullard it read those who make peaceful change impossible make violent change inevitable not break up. Whether you like it or not Nigria is going to outlive ou, yes after we for positive change have thrown statless criminals like yourself in cell. One thing Morrons like yourself do not know is this:
1. Nigeria remains the most important country in west Africa.
First of all, I will like to know your highest level of educational attainment. Desist from calling me a dunce and we will enjoy ourselves. Very few people can match my academic prowess, and I doubt you are one of them. That said, I am way smarter than anyone in your family, prolly in your heritage.

True, Nigeria is important, but not indispensable. What is the significance of the so called 'Giant of Africa,' if it is mired in institutional corruption, that had rendered it useless to the rest of the world?  if Nigeria breaks up today, the world would still revolve as it should. Our 'pale blue dot' would not become paler. Nigeria is a very minuscule stage in a vast cosmic arena. Look, think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those retired generals including Buhari, Abacha, and  IBB so that, in glory and triumph, they could become the momentary masters of  Nigeria. Think of the endless cruelties visited by the past regimes, mostly Northerners, on the many fellow innocent citizens of this same godforsaken countr , how frequent their misunderstandings, how eager they are to kill one another, how fervent their hatreds for fellow citizens of different ethnic extractions. IF WE BREAK UP, WE MIGHT JUST PUT AN END TO ALL THE UNNECESSARY KILLINGS, MOST OF WHICH ARE ENGINEERED BY THE NORTH, THAT SPRING UP EVERY SO OFTEN

Nigeria's posturings,  her imagined self-importance, the delusion that somehow she has some privileged position in the World, are challenged by the emergence of smaller nations like Ghana with less resources, who, yet are able to organize themselves, not to talk of nations like Japan, Singapore , Brazil etc

2. A violent breakup will cause refugees of epic proportions which can destabilize other west Africa country.
Wrong again. Since 1960, has our bane not been that the North (who are minorities in education, in management skills, in the economy) have held Nigeria at the jugular, scheming political manoeuvres that make them hold on to power at all costs and in all circumstances? The result, of course, is that the rest of Nigeria are not ready to trust their future to such nincompoops who have never exhibited true Nigeria nationalism anymore. The young people do not trust the authorities, and the way we see Nigeria is vastly different from how the North of Nigeria want Nigeria to be. When we break up, each individual small nation get to take better charge of their resources. The only region most likely to implode is the North. And who cares, with strong border control by neigbouring countries, we will be able to contain them within their country. And sooner or later, Nature will take its coursel.   Case in point,Rwanda; the combination of internal warfare and starvation have shrunk their population to a more sustainable and manageable number.  That experience should beat some sense into their head and should teach them one or two things about nationhood and good governance. At the very worst, one of the european countries might take them in as slaves.

3. Multinationals organization like shell will definitely not allow their investment go down the drain without stagging a coup or something.
Shell is not a state and whatever Shell is going to do, they will have to deal with MEND, and the SS in general. I am not really worried about Shell. When we get to the Bridge, we will cross it.

4.Our importance to the international community is far too important than you fable oduduwa republic, we remain important source of oil to the west hence any disruption cannot be tolerated especially now that oil prices are high a failed state will lead to an escalation of oil price. This the same reason the Yankee have not bombed the hell out of Iran, they need stability in oil prices. and believe me they will do what is necessary to maintain the status quo. But a foolish man like yourself who has no use for his brain cannot think beyond destroying the country, If you happen to have a cancer would u destroy your entire body or remove the damaged organ, Eh! Twiddle dumb. Guess that is too difficult for you to answer.
Again, get it to your thick temple, we are not that important. There is Oil in Ghana, even more oil in Angola than Nigeria, EG has a lot and more will be discovered. Again, you reliance on oil shows how weak and feeble minded you are. Oil has been the bane of the country and until we stop relying too much on it, the country will never know peace. The 21st century belongs to those who can develop their technological know-how. Even with the oil, we are still being scammed by the big boys, those who refine it for us. Now ask yourself, who is the real Maga?

As for your cancer analogy: Very weak. The best  treatment for cancer now is Chemo. And what does it do again? Well, it attacks every cell in the body ( pretty much destroys every cell that divides including normal cell), and depending on the type of cancer, you can take out the organ e.g you could do a nephrectomy or a resection depending on the margins and border of the diseased organ. Not sure where you are headed with you non-commonsensical analogy.

The only option here is for us to effing BREAK - UP.
