The north never been weak compare to south, prior to colonial rule, in the north, there was rules and regulations, leadership, security, courts the system is relatively well then because of the Islamic dwelling b4 the western.

As a result north dominate and provide good leadership to the country.
The SW actually didn't have any problems with the British colonial rule, it was the Easterners that had not developed any established form of government or administration that gave the British headaches.

It is a fact that the British had to introduce the monarchy system by introducing the concept of Eze's. Even in their local parlance, they confirm they don't have any administrative systems (Igbo amu Eze or something like that).

Well, being fascinated actually captured it better than shocked cos to be held spellbound is a great look. The Hausas (not the whole Northern Nigeria) have always been literate from probably the 15th/16th century and I believe they have tons of written documents dating back to that period, as part of Songha empire, with other cultures across West Africa.

What is the rate of girl child OUT of school in the 19 northern states today, more than 50 years after huh

Is that progress or regression?

The first step to recovery is acknowledging there is a problem. Self-deceit is the worst injury one can inflict on oneself! angry

You will not derail this thread.

The fact is established that Northerners have been literate and educated since before the arrival of the colonialists, and girl child education has been encouraged since the 60's contrary to the common belief held by southerners.

If you want to discuss the statistics and metrics of the failure/success of government educational policies across both military and civilian administrations, you are at liberty to create a thread for that.

OP, you are literate yet your leaders still claimed educationally disadvantaged states. Or is just to pocket our commonwealth?
You are literate, yet you have a hoard of Almajiri that is a ready army for Maitashine, Boko Haram, Fulani herdsmen, Malam El-Zalzaki, etc.

By the way, the word is spelt LITERATE and not "LITRATE" as you have literately written. grin
How do you juxtapose that with those that sell their sisters wombs to baby factories, cannibalize their fellow humans, and take part in gory satanic rituals yet claim to be literate?

Don't misconstrue societal issues with illiteracy. There are Irish extremists too (IRA).

Sir Ahmadu Bello in the 60's and now Islam and its agent are againt Western Education in the North. Please tell me, what has changed?
Terrorists are against western education, not northerners or Muslims.

Furthermore, not all northerners or Hausa/Fulani are Muslims.

And I'm sure you do not know Arabic is the source of the numbers you use (the one you chose over that of the Romans), and the source of the first ever computer (the Abacus).

Mr Literate indeed.

This is Sir Ahmadu Bello encouraging girl child western education in the early 60's.

Jonathan and his ministers truly believed the PDP would reign till thy kingdom come with each government covering up the last's atrocities.

How do they even go to sleep knowing they are sitting on a nations commonwealth, so much that their unborn generations cannot exhaust. We are talking trillions here.

There should be no resource spared or mercy given in the repatriation of our commonwealth and firm punishment of the wicked thieves.

By the time the conspirators sponsoring BH are revealed, a lot of us would be vindicated. It's puzzling the way Nigerians waved off Late General Azazi's statement about the PDP sponsoring BH, and his mysterious death shortly after.

Only a daft and utterly clueless comedian-in-chief would alienate his next door neighbors while fighting a cross-border insurgency. Furthermore, GEJ's refusal to commit to the fight against BH until in the last six weeks of his administration, and the various acts of internal sabotage such as leaking of the plan to free the Chibok girls using gas masks must be investigated thoroughly by PMB.

No wonder Sambo Dasuki is shitting his pants and courting the President, the truth about GEJ, PDP and BH will be revealed in due time.

[s]Stop impersonating Fulanis and accept who you are, a Southwesterner and secondly your regard for Moderatorship gives you away easily as it is non-rewarding nor an achievement to be proud of hence resigning from the position is inconsequential to this thread or any other discussion on this platform.

Go and attack and possibly deal with Malam Sanusi's description of the problems of Nigeria as it relates to each zone and people of Nigeria in support of Waku 1999.

Throwing words around and name calling wouldn't help you.

Back to the topic, the purpose of the meeting was declared by Tompolo and I quote "

[b]
Tompolo , in a last minute effort to rally support for the now doomed meeting ,it was aimed at deepening the prevailing peace in the Niger Delta.

Shortly before the meeting was called off yesterday,Tompolo issued a statement in Warri to allay fears that it was s meant to restart war in the region.

He said contrary to the perception in some quarters, the meeting was aimed at deepening the prevailing peace in the area.

He described fears over the meeting as diversionary.

His words: “The tension generated by the meeting is uncalled for, diversionary and mischievous as no evil is intended in whatever form.

“Calling off today’s meeting can also be an option if need be, in order to strengthen our belief in a peaceful Niger Delta.

“I am compelled to clarify issues as they relate to the meeting of the leadership of ex-agitators under the platform of MEND and other organisations summoned at my instance.

“The nation would recall that in the build up to the Amnesty offer of the late president, Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, there was hesitance on the part of most of Niger Delta agitators until God in His infinite mercy, granted me wisdom to provide leadership.

From your link:

Sources close to them said they had agreed to stay away from Tompolo’s gathering but would attend any other meeting to be called by the governor.

Most of them were reportedly angry with Tompolo for summoning the meeting without adequate consultations.

They were said to be unhappy that the former militant commander fondly referred to as the “General Officer Commanding (GOC)” was trying to impose himself on them as leader whereas “they are all equals”.

Where did you get your tripe about PMB sending Tompolo, even his comilitants complain of his antecedents.

Concentrate on the topic, discuss, analyze and make your input and stop being unnecessary nuisance by dedicating your life to fighting abstract beings.

It is time you possess the conscience of your own and not on what Mr. A or Mrs. B said.

Join Great minds/analysts who discuss ideas, critique policies and suggest alternatives than running from thread to thread looking for who said what and who to attack.

Back to your insinuations, I know and have consistently maintain that there is a new found partnership between Buhari and Tompolo to beat any possible threat from Niger Delta to this present Administration (refer to my previous comments). If you have contrary opinion state it than living off abuse and name calling as a means of distraction to important discussions.

Gosh
Your opinion and assertions about me are as irrelevant and baseless as your stance on this issue. What you as a failed mod should focus on is in redeeming yourself of your reputation for bigotry and lack of objectivity sandwiched between your incapacity for objective analysis.

Tompolo clearly stated the reasons for the summon and cancellation of the meeting but in your disillusioned state you elected to conclude he was sent by PMB, without having a single shred of evidence to justify the assertion.

So tell me who is wasting pixels with empty and completely ludicrous statements.

This cross-border security threat also underlines the necessity of PMB's mission to Cameroon, we wish him tremendous success.
