LordVarys:Goodluck Jonathan's administration excelled in polio eradication no doubt. We just wish he didn't loot the country dry, and cause loss of thousands of lives through a different scourge called Boko Haram. |
Well done Governor El-rufai, the progressives are on the move. |
IGBOSON1:Trust the degenerate swine to raise his snout in announcement of his nauseating presence. Ndigbo is the most helpless group in Nigerian politics today, theres no point pretending about that. You lack the numbers to either single-handedly elect a President, or secede violently, as the path of referendum is simply impossible. The only way Ndigbo can gain political relevance and find its way out of the woods, is by building an alliance with another region apart from the SS in 2019, so as to elect an able representative if they still reject PMB.... But in your typical hateful and arrogant manner, you'd rather boil in your sh!t than extend an olive branch, to build alliances. It is up to Ndigbo, as for the rest of Nigeria, we are moving on! |
Ahmeduana:Stop SHOUTING and I will answer you ![]() |
PassingShot:Then I will absolutely stand corrected if the events of the coming days reveal that Obi was actually senior to Jauro. That would be my first red flag against PMB and I will not shy away from admitting my mistake on this issue. |
Ahmeduana:The entire senior leadership of the DSS was rotten and were all playing from the same script. We both know the DSS was partisan, I'm not about to argue that fact. |
PassingShot:Subjectivity over objectivity? PassingShot:I hope so too, I also hope he does not compromise on principle and merit in that pursuit. |
BraniacX:He already did. Nobody brought down hell. https://www.nairaland.com/2423422/comparing-appointments-gej-pmb-more But that is not the point, the point is in the text you quoted. |

ECOTERRORS:Did the INEC chairperson lack the merit for the appointment? PMB exercised his discretion in choosing between two National commisioners whose tenures were expiring in a matter of months. |
TheImp:Disprove my statement, there's no point getting emotional sir. |
PassingShot:I understand where you are coming from, I also have my strong reservations. What I have noticed is that PMB is not a crowd pleaser, but a man that sticks to principle regardless of whose ox is gored. While that might not be ideal in a complex nation like Nigeria, what cannot be argued is that Nigerians have to learn to be disciplined enough to embrace diversity and end the habit of examining everything through ethnic lens if we are to develop. The point I am trying to make is that if PMB applies the same principle of merit that threw up Jauro, to firing him once he fails, then Nigerians will quickly channel their energies from their tribal antagonism to exploiting the opportunities presented by an optimally functioning agency. Yes it was not ideal, but it was not wrong either. |
The timing of this appointment is not the best, but there is nothing irregular about Jauros ascension as he was the most senior officer. If the removed DG was so competent, he wouldn't have abandoned his job post for days after he was appointed, making way for Jauro. |
President Buhari has spoken. The fact that those who gave him their mandate will be rewarded, does not automatically mean those who didn't will receive punishment. I have noticed the butthurt TANoids are trying to create the impression that they are not alone in their mess. Be guided, you are on your own. |
CSTR2:If you couldn't do anything in 2015, you can't do anything in 2019. The only way you can stop what happened this year from repeating itself, is by building alliances. So far, all you have been doing is burning bridges. |
There is nothing to argue about here. PMB did not appoint anyone, the most senior official was asked to take over. The most senior took over, and he happens to be from the NE. What is the problem? |
The terrorists are receiving sense. This just goes to prove the constant antagonism of the opposition on NL is simply a face-saving measure after their humiliating defeat at the polls. Even the armed wing of the TANoids recognize the prematurity of judging PMB's administration. I said it yesterday. Tompolo can't go to war, he is smarter than that. fulanimafia: |

I remember that photo too where he had a pale face and darkened lips, but let us let this man rest in peace. |
Whynotthetruth:$182m Halliburton Scandal: Buhari orders preparation of case-file As President Muhammadu Buhari travels to the United States (US) today to engage President Barack Obama in talks on economic, security, financial and anti-graft issues, it has emerged that he has ordered the preparation of the case-file that would lead to the prosecution of the indicted persons in the $182 million Halliburton bribery scandal. Sunday Vanguard gathered that the President’s directive followed the requirement by the US government of evidence to show that Buhari was ready to prosecute the suspects in Nigeria for their roles in the bribery scandal before it could partner other European countries in releasing the $141million dollars allegedly looted from Nigeria and lodged in various overseas banks. According to top security sources, Buhari, based on the outcome of investigations by the panel set up to look into the scandal, is scheduled to tell Americans officials during this week’s visit that all those indicted, including former Heads of State, a former Vice President, two former Group Managing Directors of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, will face prosecution to defend themselves. To further convince the US officials that the kangaroo trial that took place during the Jonathan administration, which saw a former Special Assistant on Domestic Affairs to the President being arraigned and then let off the hook following alleged connivance of certain government institutions, will not re-occur, the President will tell them that private legal practitioners, who cannot compromise because of past government patronage, will be commissioned to handle the case. It will be recalled that the recent directive by Buhari to reopen the Halliburton bribery case led to the discovery that the $26.5 million plea bargain money released by the oil servicing firm as part of efforts to shield the company from prosecution was not in any government account. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/07/182m-halliburton-scandal-buhari-orders-preparation-of-case-file/ |

These people simply want Ihejirika and co. to be tried for Human Rights abuses, they know PMB will never bend to their same-sex marriage agenda. I trust PMB to start investigating Amnesty International's allegations. |
