Good and bad news is subjective, it depends on who is listening. What most wailers describe as bad news, is usually good news to progressives. Going by that logic, Femi Adesina gives me all the good news, while Garba's news is bad news to me. |
baralatie: the hips on some of them will make a roundabout envious. |
I hope everyone can see why i keep saying it sucks to be ibo ![]() On a thread to celebrate northern beauty, some inferiority-complex ravaged bufoons suddenly feel inadequate because the attention is not on them. How does acknowledging the beauty of these innocent pretty iyan matas reduce the beauty of any other ibo girl? Then imagine the rubbish they kept spewing on the Kano thread earlier. That is what happens when you're empty. Anything else that contains value becomes a threat. It truly sucks. |

Tompolo will not go to war. The simple reason is that he himself knows there are better ways to address grievances in this age, especially in face of a superior force. Only childish reasoning would produce the imagination that creek militants can sustain a battle with Nigeria's armed forces, where over 60% of naval and half of the air-force still remain un-deployed, in addition to the ground and amphibious forces of the NA. But that is not the way forward, let all grievances be heard and appeasements/concessions be made. |

ApexTitan:Did he lie? Don't beat around the bush and answer the question. |
francizy:1. How do you determine the 'main purpose' of the visit was defeated when the original intent of the visit was to honour Obama's invitation. 2. Their refusal to sell weapons is a constitutional/legislative matter. It would be illegal and unconstututional for the U.S to sell those weapons considering the provisions of the Leahy Act. it is up to Buhari to investigate allegations of HR abuses under Jonathan. It is ironic to speak of blindness when you acknowledged in your first sentence that you would deliberately refuse to aclnowledge those gains because your so-called 'primary aim was defeated". You're not just wilfully blind, but analytically handicapped. |
francizy:You couldn't even try to hide the pain behind your blatant refusal to acknowledge any gains recorded by the visit, no matter how much you kick and cry, Jonathan's defeat cannot be reversed and his corrupt ways which he will account for, cannot be erased. Yes Jonathan will go to jail if and when he is convicted, and that is a fact. As for now, keep wailing.

Great news, this and more will dominate the news stream once PMB's diversification efforts go into full gear. The North and the rest of the country has been distracted by oil for far too long thanks to the lazy military leaders that refused to think, and instead went for easy money which has made the producing region arrogant, haughty and impoverished. |
Truckpusher:Take my thread to the gutters ....oooh i'm scaared....the gutter, you mean where you dumped Lower Niger Congress?? ![]() |
calebo101:Only a naive individual would not acknowledge the imbalanced relationship between the U.S and Nigeria, you think PMB did not have his reservations? The only explanation for your persistent inability to comprehend basic logic is lack of exposure. There is a concept known as strategic alliances where both allies seek to make strategic benefits mutually, not because of shared affection but shared interests. Now going by your assertion relations among countries with an imbalance of power is a threat to the sovereignty of the weaker nation and as such should be avoided. What about the opportunity cost? Going into a strategic alliance allows both parties to benefit from each others strengths/resources while protecting their vulnerabilities. This was exactly what PMB was going for, which was why he did not hesitate to immediately call them out for their refusal to sell arms, which I must emphasize, was a legislative/constitutional matter. |
MuhdG:You think they're called wailers for nothing? Do you know what it means to to suddenly rendered completely irrelevant in the scheme of things? We have to be understanding and pretend their cries matter ![]() |
Truckpusher:Can't you sense it when you're being ignored Drugpusher? Does this discourse seem like your type? When we are discussing bombs, destroying pipelines, amputation and ogogoro you will be mentioned. Now piss off twatt! |
sameer1212:Don't mind the lies. Obama did not leave the U.S till after Buhari left. https://www.whitehouse.gov/schedule/complete http://www.naij.com/495580-president-buhari-leaves-usa.html |
calebo101:Typical wailer, are you all accursed with the inability to apply context within reason? What was the diplomatic relationship between Nigeria and China? Compare that to the severely battered relationship that Nigeria had with the U.S courtesy of the DAFT one, and I hope you won't be too embarrassed to realize the simple logic that has been evading you; you have to mend fences before arranging or securing trade agreements. |
barcanista:It seems the logic needs to be spoon-fed to you since you're having difficulties grasping this simple concept. First of all, to determine success, you must measure it along with purpose. What was the schedule for the trip? What was planned to be achieved? Day 2 - One of the most anticipated meetings by Nigerians is to be held with the US Attorney General Loretta Lynch. The officials are to discuss the issue of corruption, in particular – assets looted by the immediate past politicians. Further on, Buhari and CBN governor and the director of the Nigerian Stock exchange will meet the US secretary of treasury, Jack Lew. "The busy day is to end with a dinner with the US officials where the country representatives are expected to discuss steps of improving business relationships and security cooperation." http://www.naij.com/492705-detailed-program-of-buharis-us-trip.html This phase of the process is focused on re-establishing business ties with the U.S which was alienated under the past adminisitration. You CANNOT expect trade agreements or MOU's to be signed the same day country representatives are expected to discuss steps of improving business relationships. That was the intended purpose, the take-away is what will be integrated in policy formulation. Capire? Comprendre? Understand? |
barcanista:You can only fool the uninitiated with your skirting around facts. The 'irrelevant' links contain facts that blow your legendary lies into smithereens. Only those with incurable apathy for sanity would expect an invitation to invest to result in signed MOU's on the same day. Do you even know what an MOU is? I seriously doubt that you are aware of the rudiments of international investment. Disprove the gains and stop skirting around facts. Or can you deny that President Buhari left the U.S before Obama as you have been parroting? |
MizMyColi:Jonathan Nigeria's finest? I understand that you idolize this man for sentimental reasons, but please don't further dilute the quality of this discourse. You cannot take away the stated gains from PMB or Nigerians, so you can kick and wail all day but it changes absolutely nothing ![]() |
I can see the wailers have turned this thread into their nocturnal coven, nothing of reason apart from the perpetual wailing and grief from the defeat of Jonathan and utter powerlessness in the face of PMB's daring decisions. Keep wailing ![]() https://tonibologna.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/HH7152-001.jpg |
barcanista:It affects us because Nigerian-US relations were non-existent under the previous administration, to the point where our current Ambassador was shunned by the U.S authorities because of his past antagonistic stance under Jonathan. You cannot pretend having a poor diplomatic relationship with the U.S does not have adverse effects on any country. http://www.dailytrust.com.ng/daily/index.php/top-stories/60102-us-wants-adefuye-out-of-buhari-s-visit barcanista:He secured their commitment to explore investment in all sectors of the economy, particularly non-oil, while assuring them of the continuation of the privatization programme BUT under an improved moral architecture. In light of this, PMB promised to review Visa regulations to encourage the investors. http://www.ogtv.com.ng/buhari-promises-improved-privatisation-process-visa-issuance/ barcanista:You have been parroting this lie to your mindless drones all day. MizMyColi:You're not being objective here. Can you deny the significance of a robust diplomatic relation with such an influential country as the U.S? President Obama invited PMB to the white house shortly after he was sworn in, so as to mend fences for our mutual benefit, after the horrible relationship we had under the incompetent Jonathan that ended up eyeing Amanpour in between lies instead of answering basic questions on power. As for hatching eggs prematurely, you will agree that the hen has to be pregnant first. The formation of robust policies are dependent on a firm and informed foundation which is the point you seem unable to comprehend. |

The fact is that Government policies, especially trade and investment, will definitely benefit from the insights gained from this trip and the many meetings. MizMyColi:Focus on the topic madam coli and don't start sounding like the rest of the robots. |
rawtouch:Those are not reasons for anything, but outcomes of PMB's visit. What single outcome did the previous government achieve on its many trips? Nigeria's international image was severely battered under Jonathan to the point where our Ambassador to the U.S, Mr Adefuye was asked to stay away from the President's visit to the White House. The shameful begging of Moroccan authorities for a phone call by the last Presidency and the subsequent humiliation is still fresh in our memories This is nothing like the previous government. |
I was enveloped with utter amazement and disbelief at the baseless sentiments being peddled on this forum by members of the opposition, that the recent US trip embarked upon by President Buhari was entirely fruitless and a waste of resources. That assertion could have been correct and be categorized as a product of sanity if not for the following facts: 1. PMB honoured an invitation. The first point to note President Buhari did not just embark on the trip for sightseeing or primarily to go and seek for weapons, but the visit was in honour of President Barrack Obama’s invitation on the strength of our president’s local and international goodwill. Thus international goodwill is as a result of the president’s acclaimed integrity, discipline and incorruptibility. This goodwill largely accounted for the way Buhari and his entourage were accommodated in Blair’s House, which serves as a site for “American Diplomacy” during the visit. This shows the esteem with which Buhari is held on account of this goodwill considering the fact that previous visiting Nigerian leaders never had such luxury treatment. http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/185645-obama-invites-buhari-to-white-house.html 2. External Support for Policy Formulation & Execution Indeed international partners had a rare opportunity to engage Nigeria on a new beginning given the fact that ministers are yet to be appointed and key policies are still being worked out, their input would definitely contribute to the shaping of this new governments policies, which would also make it more likely that we will have their full support in the execution of such policies. The input from potential investors and Biz executives at the recent meeting with Buhari in Washington is a case in point. http://sunnewsonline.com/new/buhari-woos-american-businessmen-to-invest-in-nigerian-economy/ 3. Diplomatic Ties There are also diplomatic consequences of the visit. It has the prospect of strengthening diplomatic relations of both countries. Obama has never visited Nigeria in his almost eight-year-tenure. This is not best for the image of Nigeria as the greatest black African Nation. Buhari’s visit may have provided a convenient platform for Obama to reciprocate the gesture by undertaking a visit to Nigeria in no distant future. http://www.voanews.com/content/boosting-us-nigerian-ties-heart-obama-buhari-meeting/2866827.html 4. Recovery of Foreign Loot Nigeria also requires assistance in retrieving stolen wealth stashed in some American commercial banks or covert agencies. There are strong indications and suggestions that some of these loots have been deployed in the purchase of expensive and expansive estate in Washington D.C. and its environs particularly the State of Maryland. As a result of this visit, the United States said it will assist Nigeria in locating and returning funds stolen by corrupt government officials. http://uk.reuters.com/article/2015/07/19/uk-usa-nigeria-idUKKCN0PT03R20150719 5. Re-enforcement of Anti-Gay Stance President Buhari on this U.S trip, re-emphasized that Nigeria's Anti-sodomy legislation stands and will not be repealed as it goes against the culture and morals of Nigerians. President Buhari's refusal to compromise on this stance has been applauded by Nigerians far and wide. The expectation is that the president’s latest visit to the US has marked a good beginning for the realisation of Nigerian’s vast potential. As noted by Obama, Buhari came into the office with a reputation of integrity and a clear agenda on corruption and Boko Haram insurgency including fixing the economy and infrastructure, therefore I call on members of the opposition to realize that months of wailing will not return Jonathan, so they should join hands with all Nigerians to achieve these objectives for the betterment of our nation. |
M0GIDI:How do you plan to ensure that? Through criminals? |
One thing you have to understand is that the Fulani do not mince words. This should not be blown out of proportion. The constitution protects each and every citizen in this country and so no one will be victimized. We would all would be very disappointed if PMB decides to target/harass any region or group of people as is being insinuated. |
