No People i want you all to know that "Disney just lied". I have names and addresses of  Nigerian and Caucasian couples in my area. Officially Disney can be called a "Liar". Or let us say she likes Exaggerating. She can also be called Shallow, Myopic, Ignorant and str8 up dumb and those will all pass the smell test.

So many people on this thread said Nigerian guys (in Yankee ?) have issues and so monie should stick with her white boy friend.
Question is what are these issues ?
Is it that the Nigerian guys there are "useless" and when did they become useless ?After they left Nigeria or while they were still in our country ?

Monie keep your standards ,they are not hard to find such in a Nigerian man.
I don't want to blow my trumpet or sound vain but I meet and surpass those qualities you mentined and it is not as if i am perfect .It just that the world has turned upside down with all these thrash that people now think it is impossible to find a guy who loves reading (i love reading,read mags and novels regularly),speaks good English(have been doing that perfeectly since I was a kid),watch TV(do that regularly,even this afternoon),lives quietly(that's one reason i hate Lagos.I love the quiet life) and have a good job(yes I do have such,if working as an Engineer with multinational firm qualifies for a good job) so what da heck !

Just keep your standards and pray and God will lead you to the right person.

I don't club and don't believe in clubbing but let me help you here.
I have come to believe in life that because you are in a relationship(marriage,courtship,boy friend-girl friendaffair,etc) does not mean you should lose your individuality or identity.You still have your life to live.
I can't say if your boy friend loves you or not but I would rather say learn to accept the fact that we are still individuals in a relationship and one partner should not deter the fun of the other partner as long as they are both faithful to each other.
Go to your parties and let him go to his.Go together if it is necessary but don't make it a law that both of you must go every where together.It makes people feel locked up and constrained(at least I feel like I am in bondage if somebody wants to go everywhere with me) and it can have a negative effect on the relationship.
What is important is faithfulnes,understanding,compatibility and love.Other things are secondary

I know Indonesia has a system of martial arts called Silat.

I have a Purple belt in Shotakan Karate and last december got a Yellow belt in Jujitsu.
Although I have been practising martial arts on and off since 1996 i have never gotten into a fight and that's because i detest fighting.Sparring is okay but not fighting unless in self defense but the first rule of self defense is:Escape.
I have never practised kung fu but hope to practise a bit of it soon.
Right now I am focusing on my Jujitsu.It is a great art and very practical for self defense.This is one art that from day one of training you are taught to incapacitate.I only started October last year but you will be suprised at how much i can take a fellow down with little effort.
There is this feeling of fitness and confidence that comes with practising the oriental martial arts.It is a feeling that can't be explained.It has to be experienced.

If you want to be a real martial artiste learn the kick-punching arts(karate,kung-fu,taekwondo),the throws-locks-holds arts(judo,jujitsu,aikido) blend it with some weapon arts(Jujitsu,kendo,kung-fu) and then avoid all fighting situations. In this way,the day you are pushed to the wall you will neutralise your opponent with very little effort and people will be like:wow,this guy is good and yet he doesn't fight.Maximum repsect !!

If white guys are more romantic than blacks how come not many black ladies are marrying white guys 

Having asked that I think who is more romantic depends on the individual and circumstances of that person.
Generally speaking, poor people find it more difficult to be romantic because they are bogged down with too many issues of survival to have time for the swoosh of romance ,(not an excuse not to be romantic though) and more over ,there can be no true romance without some cash to back it up.We know blacks and africans are generally poorer than whites,on the average 

All the same, I think blacks are more passionate and committed.We have the tendency to try to work out our relationships and give it the best shot,except that in these days of easy divorce,our traditional culture of holding on is fast being eroded by the western culture of no patience,no perseverance in a relationship.

So generally the vibe im getting here is that the ladies would not consider dating or eventually marrying a man a few years younger than you because
1) he might look 4 sumthin younger when you eventually grow older faster as u  ladies have said
2) You wont feel to secure because the whole man taking care of me thing don't seem right when instead of him being a father figure , hes more like an annoying younger brother
3) at the back of your mind you feel society will frown on it...
i find this reasons just as shallow as any other reason like he aint rich or not mature.

My dear friend,  Money,maturity and age are not utter crap when it comes to marriage.They may seem like utter crap if all you want is a fling but when it comes to the day-to-day issues of marriage,these are real issues.Bro,wake up from your slumber and face reality.These issues matter in life.

As for me, I am very secretive o!   Before I begin to share concentrated details about my past and even present experiences, the person and I must be really close. But the thing is that once I see that I can trust someone, I bare it all.

I love honest people. I also love being honest, but there are some things i will never share with a boyfriend. maybe when you become my husband... or we are serious, like serious serious. But for boyfriend, dating ish.. nuh uh.

The issue with this line of argument is that if you are already emotionally close to the person and you now bring up an unpalatable issue from your past you may rock the boat of a beautiful relationship,from which you might find very difficult to pull out off.
Imagine if you were married already and the police shows up one day to arrest your husband for  a crime he committed when he was a cult boy on campus and he never told you he was in the secret cult or your wife wakes you up one cool morning and tells you "darling,i had an abortion in the past and lost my womb" ?

There are some earth shaking and breaking secrets that should not be divulged!!!!!
I agree.Some things are better not being known about as long as they are not going to come out from somewhere or somebody else.

But if you think there is anything in your past that could have impact on the relationship,for example a guy who has a huge debt from a bad business he is still trying to repay or a girl who has lost her womb, I think it is only wise to tell because these are issues that are going to come out one day and affect the relationship.The sooner the other person knows about it the better,so both of you can decide the way forward before the committment gets to deep.

why do girls believe boys mature more slowly ? Is in terms of exposure to the things of the world,to materialism or what ?To the best of my knowledge,I have been generally more mature than most of the girls of my age well,except in sexual and relationship issues.In that area they may have floored me earlier and that is the only area I know girls may get mature a bit faster.They get too quickly and early involved in "men and relationships" and end falling in to trouble 
I agree that girls enter puberty before boys but that doesn't equate emotional,spiritual and social maturity.

Anyway, I believe a good number of years ahead of the girl is better for a guy in a sincere relationship
Why ?
Just like the girls "mature faster,physically" they also grow older,physically. If your woman is so much older than you in a short while she may begin to look like your mother or aunty and you may find yourself ashamed of her and be tempted to go for the younger babes 
Also,some older ladies may attempt to control the man.

But then at the end of the day,what matters is love,understanding,compatibility and above all,the will of God for our lives.

If something happened in your past that is "not too nice" and you are now in a new relationship when will be the best time to tell your new partner about the past event ?
First,second date ? Three months later ? or never ?

If you say "never"   give your reason(s)

Remember telling or not telling could have positive or negative repercussions on the relationship and "the timing of your disclosure"   matters alot in your relationship

Even if he is going to be vindicated by the court it will be done after this present tenure has ended,in which case the vindication will be of no use to him.
Justice in this country is not only terribly slow but bias when it matters most.
Ladoja should go home and forget about the governorship.He has lost it.It is Nigeria I pity.A country where a man can single handedly enthrone and dethrone a governor.It is a shame.
